00:00Daniel Ricciardo's Formula One exit has been confirmed after it was announced he will be
00:03replaced at RB for the remainder of the season.
00:06Ricciardo, an eight-time race winner, will make way for Liam Lawson at the next Grand
00:11Prix in Texas on the 20th of October, effectively bringing the curtain down on a career that
00:15spanned 257 races.
00:18Here we take a look at the highs and lows of the Australian's F1 career.
00:22Maiden victory during debut season at Red Bull Ricciardo thrived after he moved to reigning
00:26World Champions Red Bull for the 2014 season, alongside Sebastian Vettel.
00:31He quickly asserted himself as the faster driver, and the impressive start culminated
00:35with his first Grand Prix victory at the seventh round in Montreal.
00:40He passed Nico Rosberg for the lead with two laps remaining, and the eventual victory was
00:44the first of three in 2014, which resulted in a new long-term contract while teammate
00:49Vettel departed for Ferrari.
00:52Ricciardo debuts his famous showy celebration by 2016.
00:56Ricciardo had fully established himself as one of F1's leading drivers, and he finished
00:59third in the championship for the second time in three years at the end of the season.
01:04His most memorable moment on the podium came during a race he didn't even win at the German
01:08Grand Prix, where he debuted the shoey celebration.
01:12The unique Australian celebration sees a driver drink champagne from their race-worn shoe
01:16on the podium.
01:18In 2016 it caught everybody by surprise, and whenever he has been on a podium since then,
01:23Ricciardo did a shoey, and sometimes dragged other drivers into doing one too.
01:28Highs and lows of Monaco Ricciardo secured an incredible victory at the 2018 Monaco GP,
01:33fending off former teammate Vettel despite issues with his car.
01:37But that stunning win came after heartbreak just two years prior.
01:40He led the 2016 GP until a botched pit stop 32 laps in, where Red Bull did not have the
01:46proper tires ready in time, leading to a 9-second stop, and Ricciardo leaving the
01:50pit lane behind Hamilton, who eventually won the race.
01:54Crash with Verstappen and Red Bull
01:56Exit Verstappen and Ricciardo were teammates between 2016 and 2018, and while they had
02:01a good relationship, it soon became clear that Red Bull was placing its long-term future
02:05in Verstappen.
02:07At the 2018 Azerbaijan GP, the pair had been going head-to-head all race, but their battle
02:12came to an explosive end on lap 40 when they collided down the straight.
02:17There was an argument over who was to blame, but Ricciardo felt that Red Bull had favored
02:21Verstappen in the aftermath, which perhaps played into his eventual exit from the team.
