00:00In the ACC, as an underdog, there's not many better teams than Georgia Tech.
00:08In Louisville, who is perfect, ranked inside the top 20 of the AP poll, but only in two
00:14games, has its best test of the season in its conference opener.
00:19Lacey Guy, a little bit of movement on this number, the people loving them bees.
00:24It's under double digits now, nine and a half points spread in favor of Louisville, who
00:29was also booked as a favorite in its first two games of the year, and 2-0 against the
00:34spread.
00:35But we know Brent Key, during his time in Atlanta, leading Georgia Tech, as we saw on
00:40display in Dublin, great at covering numbers as an underdog.
00:44How do you break down this matchup?
00:46Yeah, and they're 3-1 right now.
00:47They're playing very well.
00:48I really like the way Haynes King is playing as well, completing well over 65% of his passes,
00:54six touchdowns, one interception.
00:55That is the key in regards to his development.
00:58Last year, he had 16 INTs on the year, so he's not turning the football over.
01:02They're throwing for 267 in regards to this matchup, and running for well over 150 yards
01:07on the ground with Jamal Haynes.
01:09I think the physicality can continue with Georgia Tech.
01:12Defensively, they're sound as well, but I feel like nobody's talking about Louisville
01:16right now.
01:17This is a team that did make it to the ACC championship.
01:20They're averaging, in terms of total yardage, over 500 yards per game.
01:24This game did go down to the wire last year.
01:27Week zero, neutral field, 39-34.
01:30They had to pull it out.
01:31I think Louisville does win, Kev, but I'll take the points with the Yellow Jackets.
01:36The extra weeks of games, I think, will matter here, especially with Louisville coming out
01:40of a bye week.
01:41Yeah, Russ Rust.
01:42I'll probably lean Russ here, and to be honest with you, with Louisville, no one's talking
01:46about him.
01:47Austin P. Jacksonville State bye week.
01:49They shouldn't even be ranked.
01:50I'm sorry.
01:51I know that.
01:52I'm just saying, they're still undefeated.
01:55We look at Clemson.
01:56We look at Miami.
01:57This is a team that did make it to the championship.
01:58Played in the ACC championship game last year, but I would agree with Kev.
02:01I think one of the reasons they've been overlooked right now is, one, they had a bye week.
02:05What's to look at?
02:06Week number three, and what's to look at?
02:07It's Austin P. and FCS foe, and it's Jacksonville State.
02:10Despite a great first year under Rich Rodriguez, it's been a disaster to start this season.
02:15Yeah, and again, I'm on Georgia Tech in this game.
02:17One thing to keep your eye on, the Haynes-King rushing numbers.
02:1960-plus in each of his games this year in ACC competition.
02:23Last year, only power opponents that kept him under were Georgia and Clemson.
02:27Obviously, Louisville is not that caliber of defense, no matter what we've seen from
02:31the early returns against bad football teams here.
02:33So that would be another way to play it, but I'm on Georgia Tech, plus 10.5, Ben.
02:3653 rushing yards for Haynes-King against Louisville in the season opener last year.
02:41Also threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns.
02:45Georgia Tech covered in that game as a 7.5-point underdog.
02:48They were 7-2 against the spread in ACC play last year under Brent Key, who has been the
02:53head coach for the Yellow Jackets for 25 games.
02:57Interim first in 2022, permanent head coach since the start of last year.
03:01As an underdog, Georgia Tech is 13-3 against the spread with 10 outright victories.
03:07The most outright wins as an underdog in FBS college football in that span.
03:12There is a reason people are looking at the plus with the Yellow Jackets today.
