Why PTI object to the Chief Justice of Pakistan ??? Salman Akram Raja Reveals | Breaking News
Transcript
00:00What is happening? Today there was a case in the Supreme Court in which Tariq-e-Insaaf was also present.
00:09Let's talk to the Secretary General of Tariq-e-Insaaf, Salman Akram Rajasah.
00:13We recorded a short while ago with him. He will tell you.
00:16Salman sir, tell us, today there was an objection in the court.
00:21Chief Justice of Pakistan, that was your case today.
00:25There was an objection that he should not sit on the bench.
00:27Is this your position as an official of Tariq-e-Insaaf that he should not listen to your case?
00:31Yes, this is our position.
00:32But we have never heard this before.
00:34I mean, there was no objection before.
00:36To what extent are you now making it a strict position that,
00:39because in every case, do you also feel that every case,
00:43from which the coming politics will be affected,
00:45whether it is the case of 63A or other cases,
00:47should he be a part of the benches?
00:49Look, our position as a party now is that he should not be.
00:53Whether it is the case of 63A or the cases of recounting,
00:57in all of these, the attitude that is coming forward,
01:01is that we are suffering losses everywhere.
01:04But it is not enough to only suffer losses.
01:07An objection was made to a judge, a rebuttal was made,
01:10other decisions were made.
01:12Many of our petitions that are read,
01:14in relation to the 2024 elections,
01:17in relation to 8th February, they are not being heard, etc.
01:20Even today, the case of the election tribunal,
01:23look, the election commission got what it wanted.
01:26The judges appointed by Shahzad Ahmed Khan as the Chief Justice,
01:31those judges were removed through a re-consultation process,
01:35by the new Chief Justice.
01:39So, there are four judges,
01:41who were appointed by Shahzad Ahmed Khan as the election tribunal.
01:45The election commission objected to them.
01:47Today, the judges who objected to them,
01:50there was no justification.
01:52When we went to the High Court,
01:54we said, what is your objection?
01:56Give us a justification.
01:58They did not have any justification.
02:00But anyway, those judges will not work as election tribunals in Punjab.
02:04So, we are very worried.
02:05But today, I saw the Islamabad High Court,
02:07I also saw the Supreme Court.
02:09The judges are saying, why are the judges of the High Court in the tribunal?
02:12I was looking at Mr. Golasan Aurangzeb,
02:15he said, if I get married, I will have a headache.
02:18See, this was in the law.
02:20The law of 2017,
02:22section 140, sub-section 3,
02:26says, serving judges of the High Court shall be election tribunals.
02:31And this is why, after a lot of deliberation,
02:34the judges who come,
02:36on the contract,
02:38the retired judge,
02:39he will be appointed for a month.
02:42He will be appointed for 5 years.
02:44Until the assembly is over,
02:46they do not let the case end.
02:48This is our experience.
02:49Plus, they are absolutely compliant.
02:52Because it was also written in the law,
02:54that you can take a case from a judge and give it to someone else,
02:56you can also dismiss him.
02:58The retired judge you have appointed,
03:01he is compliant with you.
03:03If he does not listen to you,
03:05you will take a case from him and give it to someone else.
03:07He will be dismissed.
03:08You will abrogate his contract.
03:10This is a strange system.
03:12You say that there was fraud in the election,
03:15so prove it.
03:16Prove it in front of whom?
03:17Prove it in front of your employees, judges.
03:20Our case is against the Election Commission,
03:22against R.O. Saiman.
03:24So how can we prove that case,
03:26in front of the judges,
03:28who are employed by them?
03:30This will also go to court.
03:32But all these things take time.
03:34And they want,
03:35who have come on the basis of Form 47,
03:38that we sit and continue the case.
03:40Do you think the courts are making political decisions?
03:42I don't want to take anyone's name.
03:44I remember People's Party and Iftikhar Chaudhary.
03:47It was said that Iftikhar Chaudhary has become a politician.
03:50Do you think this is politics?
03:52Look, to some extent,
03:54every judge has a political background,
03:57a political, you can say,
03:59downfall.
04:01But I don't think that politically,
04:03political decisions are made.
04:05Except that,
04:07you have a background of grudge.
04:10Do you have a background of grudge today?
04:12Look, we have filed this.
04:14What reference are you sending against people?
04:16Let me tell you.
04:17Look, earlier we didn't have,
04:19at least I didn't have these materials,
04:21which we tried to present.
04:23So there is a personal nature to it.
04:25When this reference was made,
04:27the letters that were written at that time,
04:29the open letters,
04:30the statements that were given at that time,
04:32there were very specific statements,
04:34in reference to Imran Khan's personality,
04:36in reference to the PTI,
04:38in reference to the conversations
04:40that took place in the state of Madinah at that time,
04:42that was made fun of.
04:44So all of this is such a background,
04:46which is extraordinary.
04:48Usually, it doesn't happen that a judge
04:50and a team have such a background.
04:52So it is.
04:54And that is why we raised the objection,
04:56and we will continue to do so.
