00:00Tomorrow is the day of reckoning for the Vice President and her office's 2025 budget,

00:04which has been in limbo after an impasse with the House Penalty Panel that holds the fate and

00:10future of her office's funding. There is no love lost between a defiant Vice President

00:15and the House Penalty which looks to a default slashing of 1.29 billion pesos from her proposed

00:22allocation if she bucks and walks or if she opts to rattle her saber at the panel tomorrow.

00:33There is a joint motion to terminate the interpolations on the proposed budget of

00:39the Office of the President. Is there any objection? The chair hearing none.

00:44The interpolations on the proposed budget of the Office of the President is hereby terminated.

00:53The House of Representatives has terminated the plenary deliberations for the Office of

00:58the President's 2025 budget proposal amounting to more than 10 billion pesos.

01:03Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin personally attended the proceedings

01:07with House Committee on Appropriations Vice Chair Toby Cianco acting as the budget sponsor.

01:12During his speech, Cianco assured that even with lower budget allocation for 2025,

01:17the OP will continue to serve and work efficiently.

01:21More money does not always mean more services or better performance.

01:25With the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance espoused by the President,

01:29this chamber is assured that the President is always mindful of the need to fulfill his

01:34constitutional mandate with less financial requirement but do the same quality results.

01:40Aside from the Office of the President, the 2025 budget proposals of the Department of Education,

01:46Civil Service Commission, and other agencies have also been approved by the House plenary.

01:51However, in contrast, the proposed appropriations for the Office of the

01:55Vice President remains pending due to the absence of its officials.

02:21Lawmakers have given the Office of the Vice President a deadline of until tomorrow to appear

02:46or explain her Office's 2025 proposed budget. Some congressmen have even challenged the Vice

02:52President to resign if she no longer wants to perform her duties.

03:16Vice President Sara Duterte had earlier asserted, having submitted the necessary

03:42documents to the lower house and is leaving it to the congressmen to decide on her Office's

03:47proposed budget for next year. In a Facebook post, her Office also called out attempts to

03:52allegedly besmirch yet again the reputation of VP Sara by publishing stories of her being on

03:58the beach while the House conducts its plenary deliberations. They insist the Vice President

04:03was on the road busy communicating to our citizens about the current events in the country.

04:08Aside from the OVP, Agri-Portly's Rep. Wilbert Lee is also closely monitoring the budget proposal

04:14of the Department of Health. He's pushing for the expansion of benefits for PhilHealth members,

04:18which is under the supervision of the DOH.

04:22They have a schedule tomorrow. They're the last ones to go home.
