00:00In front of the fishermen in the ocean,

00:02under basic life support training,

00:04are our 100 fishermen in Subic, Zambales.

00:09BN Manalo is in the center of the news.

00:13Chris Loutero is only 13 years old

00:17when his parents abandoned him to fishing.

00:21He is doing double care in his life,

00:24especially since this is his only source of income

00:28to support his family's needs.

00:32That's why when he found out that Fishermen's Congress

00:34has basic life support training

00:36for fishermen like him,

00:39he didn't miss the chance to join and learn.

00:43This is very important because

00:45we can't avoid it inside.

00:47If something bad happens to us,

00:50we will be able to overcome it.

00:54We are very thankful to the Coast Guard

00:59and the Coast Guard for giving us this training.

01:02Like Chris, Albert Boncaron is also very thankful

01:06for this great opportunity.

01:09This is the first time he has been able to join

01:12basic life support training

01:14for more than two decades.

01:17This first aid training is very important to us.

01:20If something bad happens to us,

01:23we will be able to overcome it.

01:25We are very thankful to the Coast Guard

01:27for giving us this opportunity

01:29to do this first aid training

01:32so that we can learn

01:35basic life support training.

01:37Chris and Albert are among more than 100 fishermen

01:41from the fishing communities of Subic, Santa Cruz

01:45and Masinloc, Zambales

01:47among those who participated in the basic first aid training

01:50held at Subic Municipal Gymnasium.

01:53This is part of the Congress of Fishermen

01:56for Peace and Prosperity, or KKK,

02:00led by the Philippine Red Cross, Zambales Chapter.

02:04Some government agencies,

02:06including the Department of Health

02:09and the Philippine Information Agency, are also involved.

02:12According to the Red Cross,

02:13this is a good opportunity

02:15for them to hone their skills

02:18in giving first aid

02:20in the event of an emergency.

02:24This training is very important,

02:26our BLS, Basic Life Support,

02:28to them, to the fishermen,

02:30in case of emergency,

02:31not only to the fishermen,

02:33but especially to their community.
