00:14Derbyshire County Council is finally due to make a decision on the Critch Quarry Amber
00:19Rock resort plans, with officials recommending refusal.
00:23The resort plans contain an indoor water park, hotel, lodges, apartments, climbing centre
00:30heritage centre, clifftop restaurant, spa, sports complex and underground parking for
00:35669 vehicles.
00:37But a report from Chris Henning, the Council's Executive Director of Place said,
00:42In my opinion, this proposal does not represent sustainable rural tourism, as the economic
00:47benefits identified would not be anywhere close to the levels required to outweigh the
00:52potential cumulative significant harmful impacts from the development.
00:56A final decision would be made by councillors at a meeting on Monday, September 30th.

01:09Farmer Rob Pearson and his partner Emma Brookbank of Newgate Farming Barlow took the baby cows
01:14to meet patients at the hospice's inpatient unit and day services.
01:18Rob, a long time supporter of the hospice, wanted to give something back after his mum
01:23Mona Pearson and niece Louise Pearson received end-of-life care at the hospice.
01:28He said,
01:29I lost my mum in 2012 and the hospice were very good with caring for her, plus you never
01:34know if you need the care yourself one day.
01:37It's only down the road and I'm more than happy to do my bit to support the charity.
01:41You only have to see the look on the patients' faces when we're bringing the animals.
01:45That makes the whole thing worth it.
