00:00A tree change on the unofficial campaign trail.
00:05Today we're supercharging Queensland's natural advantages.
00:09In a bid to encourage eco-friendly farming, the government announced it would boost the
00:13Queensland Nature Fund.
00:14We will fund into those projects through QIC to ensure that they are accelerated.
00:22Producers would be given money to continue sustainable farming.
00:25We can't afford the wars over land clearing.
00:29But Peakbody Ag Force, which represents cattle, cane, grain and livestock producers, says
00:35it wasn't part of the consultation process.
00:38The signal it sends to members ahead of the state election is one of not being considered
00:43rightly and equally.
00:45There are a number of things that are missing.
00:47Queensland Farmers Federation has been consulted, so there's a range of agricultural groups.
00:52The opposition announced it would expand its plan to build four new early intervention
00:56schools to help children from grade 7 who are at risk of committing crimes.
01:01A lot of those schools only operate from grade 10 or grade 11 through to grade 12.
01:07Four new schools would be alongside two previously announced schools for young people on court
01:11orders costing $40 million.
01:14This is gold standard.
01:15Earlier than ever before, more targeted than ever before, and it will stop the number of
01:20victims reaching levels that we've never seen before.
01:22The opposition also launched an ad featuring Kapalabar candidate Russell Field calling
01:27for tougher action on youth crime.
01:29My son, daughter-in-law and unborn grandchild were victims.
01:32The government rejects claims its youth crime messaging isn't being heard.
01:37We're being fair dinkum with Queenslanders.
01:39We're telling them what our programs are.
01:40We're telling them the reduction in crime that is happening as a result.
