00:00More than half of the barangays in the Philippines have no barangay health station
00:06according to the data collected by GMA Integrated News Research.
00:10The solution is the deployment of mobile clinics
00:14that can move to faraway places
00:17where the expenses are cheaper and have high-tech medical equipment.
00:21Jun Vederation has the news.
00:23President Bongbong Marcos inspected the 28 mobile clinics
00:31before he boarded the ship to Mindanao.
00:34Each unit has an x-ray machine,
00:37ECG and other equipment
00:40and can go to the corners of the provinces.
00:43We also share dignity, trust and hope.
00:47We hope that despite the hardships of going to faraway places,
00:52they will reach the government.
00:55The President is right,
00:57especially since many have no medical record.
01:00Among the beneficiaries are the residents of Basilan
01:02who have three government hospitals
01:05according to their Provincial Health Officer.
01:08They will go to the mobile clinics.
01:12We will go there, not the patients.
01:16A lot of people are hoping to go to barangay health stations
01:20where there is only one per 5,000 people in the Philippines.
01:25If they can go to a mobile clinic,
01:27they will have a better chance of treating their diseases
01:31such as diabetes, tuberculosis and heart disease.
01:35That's why the units that cost more than Php 1 million
01:38are expected to add Php 20 million.
01:40The mobile clinics were first given to the provinces of Luzon and Visayas.
01:45This is cheaper than building a barangay health center
01:48where there are no people and no equipment.
01:51This is our answer to our faraway countrymen
01:56who have access to doctors, medicines and tests.
02:00The President also thanked First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos
02:04for her program, Love for All,
02:07a free medical laboratory services
02:10that was not charged by the government
02:12and ran with the help of First Lady's friends.
02:15I'm so thankful.
02:17This is what I can say.
02:19We have the same thoughts when we sleep in the country.
02:22I will be scolded later.
02:25Why do I always mention her?
