00:00I was diagnosed with a brain tumour, a real shock and really it was just that we didn't
00:13know what was coming next. I'd never ever heard about the palliative care, but we're
00:22glad we're here.
00:23It just means that there's somebody there for us, isn't it?
00:25Yeah.
00:27You're not on your own.
00:28Palliative care to me is about living, not dying. It's about people having full quality
00:35of life and living as well as possible for as long as possible and continuing to do things
00:41that are really important to them. So continuing to do the things that bring them their life
00:45meaning and enjoyment.
00:47We can make a difference. We can see the effect that it has on people whenever you allow people
00:53to do the things that they maybe didn't think they'd be able to do anymore. There's just
00:56such a value in that and just to be able to be there for families.
01:01If I hadn't have found out about it, you know, I wouldn't have known what to do really.
01:09Just a real big thanks to them all. Couldn't have done without them.
