00:00Georgia does beat Kentucky 13 to 12. I mentioned Stoops punting
00:07with three and a half minutes left to go in the fourth quarter
00:09awful decision by him. Here's Kirby smart afterwards, Scott,
00:13he says, Oh, I knew it was going to be a very difficult job going
00:16into Lexington and winning. Sure.
00:18I tried to tell everybody all week, but nobody would listen to
00:20me. I know what this team's made out of. I know how tough he
00:24coaches. I know several coaches on staff. I've known for a long
00:28time, I have tremendous respect. And when they get
00:30disrespected, like they did last week, and they listen to it for
00:34a week, you know, they come out ready to play. And I think our
00:37kids listen to that. I think they understood it. But also
00:40think it's a tough environment to play in. I'm so proud of the
00:43resiliency our kids showed. They never flinched. We thought this
00:47would be a blow by blow game. And we talked all week about
00:50blow by blow deliver more blows on them. And, and we said, the
00:55first chop of the tree doesn't chop the tree down. It takes
00:59sometimes 272 ax chops, and it took every single one tonight to
01:04get the job done.
01:06I'm sure they're upset with the AP top 25 that was released
01:10where they're not number one anymore. And you could argue
01:14that they should be because frankly, Mike, this is the SEC.
01:19This is no joke. You play on the road in this conference. It's a
01:24nightmare every week. Now. I don't deny how deep they are and
01:28talented with five stars across the board. But I think anyone
01:32can give you problems in that conference. And I'll be honest
01:36with you, I would rather be frankly, not the number one team
01:40in the country all year or be number one in the stupid a
01:44people that doesn't matter. All that matters is getting a high
01:48seat in that playoff tournament. That's all that matters. So
01:51would you rather be you know, because not only two teams, only
01:54two teams have wanted that was ranked number one in the
01:57preseason a people ever. Okay, so I would rather lose, I would
02:03rather just get into that playoff in a top five seed, then
02:09you know, be a one of the remaining seven that you know,
02:14aren't the big heavy four conferences that are going to
02:18get the top four. Remember when Notre Dame they edged him in at
02:20number five already, and then they got beat by NIU. I would
02:24rather be one of those top four seeds than worry about being
02:28number one in a poll that, you know, for the most part is
02:31meaningless. No one wants to say this because everyone loves the
02:35AP poll every week, but it doesn't matter.
