00:00Bump it over to live. Now we got John Rahm. John Rahm wins this individual championship
00:11is second one in his last three events, which this is a sort of an interesting one to discuss
00:15because it really, I think as recently as post open championship where he did finish
00:20top 10, he finished tied for seventh, but looking back at his major record this year
00:23where he had to withdraw from the U S open, Mrs. The cut of the PGA finishes tied for
00:2745th at the masters. We were asking questions as to, you know, how does he feel about this
00:33year? If his goal was to go over and play well, live, I, you know, I knew he was near
00:37the top of the individual standings at that point, but maybe hadn't won yet. And just
00:42saying, can he consider this a success? And then really ripped off a huge close of the
00:46season. He made $38.2 million this year, 34.7 as an individual, it's a shout out to our
00:53guy, Sean, Sean Lowry, bringing in the live stats and information, which by the way, teed
00:58up with Sean Lowry out of Treyburn this last week, I don't know if it's just you, like
01:02I just don't care like how much money they make. That's like, if there's one thing about
01:07any of this, it's about more money that they're making. None of that is it. Well, it's more
01:13so just an illustration of this, you know, what it is, silly money. It's hard to even
01:19like, you know, compare that to, is that good? Is that bad? It's a lot. Let's just
01:23compare it to like the NFL, dude. I mean, even what Scotty made this year, I think what
01:29the Saudis have done is totally inflate the golf market because it's not sustainable.
01:34You know, this, this live golf model is if, if they did not have the, I mean, everybody
01:41knows this, that they didn't have Saudi backed PIF on all this, that none of this would be
01:45even possible. It's, it's make believe we'd still be on the PGA tour. And that's where
01:50I just get still just so annoyed by just when I hear what these players will say about,
01:57you know, we need to get back together and this and that it's like, dude, like you have
02:01hit the absolute lottery because it's just, it's just fairytale land. Yeah, it's, I mean,
02:09you're not going to get a disagreement from me on any of that. I think it's, I think the
02:14thing that's probably most frustrating from a viewer perspective or a fan perspective
02:18is that we're at this sort of impasse between two sides that are both doing something that
02:23feels unsustainable, but unwilling to try to kind of find some way to kind of make it
02:28work. And because it's just, I think in the absence of trying to find something that make
02:33makes it work, it, the future is not going to be great for pro golf. Like there just
02:38has to be a way to kind of get this thing. And I don't know who caves first on that and
02:43who has the longer lead because you look at the PIF and seemingly having, you know,
02:50as much money as they want to given their reserves, but how much of that is actually
02:53being set aside and going into this live product, you know, it's, it's anyone's guess. And then
02:58on the, on the, on the tour side, it's like you had this, this group of investors has
03:03injected a ton of cash and we're talking about ways we're going to innovate. And, and, and
03:07a lot of that's been done, you know, we're kind of trying out new products, which, you
03:10know, I love that. You know, in addition to the TGL and things like that, we're also
03:15trying things out like the crater classic to lean into some of these younger demos,
03:19you know, and, and probably doing more of that in the future. Like at least we're trying
03:23some stuff there, but I don't think that money's endless either. And so it's just, when do
03:27we run out on either side and whose hand is kind of forced to come to the table and bring
03:33it back together? Because I can, you have two products like this forever. I don't think
03:37so.
03:39I would probably argue that, that still, I feel like live is in a better position because
03:43I think money still wins and most, most everything, right? Money will always win. And I, I think
03:50both sides need each other, but I think the tour long-term needs, needs players, top level
03:57players that, that draw more eyeballs and more viewers. And I think that's to me where
04:03I think the tour kind of has to probably concede first in all this.
