(Adnkronos) - Bergamo, nuovo calore pulito per 11mila case attraverso il teleriscaldamento

Clima e montagna, ormai estinto il Ghiacciaio di Flua
Transcript
00:00Bergamo, new clean heat for 11,000 homes.
00:16Montagna, extinct the ice of Prua.
00:21Bergamo's A2A heating system is enriched with clean heat thanks to the thermal enhancer Rea Dalmine.
00:29In fact, from next autumn, the waste heat produced by the Grintesis system will be used in the city,
00:35allowing 11,000 more apartments to enter the already existing heating network.
00:41The project, born in 2019 with the signing of the agreement between A2A and Rea Dalmine,
00:46has been presented today at the thermal enhancer in the presence of the corporate and the institutions.
00:52The total investment is 30 million euros.
00:55We have completed the work that will allow, thanks to this industrial collaboration,
00:59to provide green heat, that is, heat recovery and waste heat,
01:04from our thermal enhancer to the Bergamo heating network,
01:08which will be able to extinguish several thousand heaters
01:12with a CO2 reduction balance equivalent to about 100,000 trees,
01:18which means 15,000 tons of CO2 removed from the environment and from the city of Bergamo every year.
01:23The fourth generation heating system is the future,
01:27because it allows to bring decarbonized heat to the homes.
01:31The network of Bergamo today is an 87 km network and the planned extension is 22 km,
01:36this gives the idea of the amount of heat that can be brought.
01:41The efficiency of the Rea Dalmine system goes from 27% to 80%,
01:47so this gives the idea of how important it is to recover both electricity and heat in these systems.
01:54This project is one of the projects that is part of the contract, let's say,
01:59with Europe, the city of Bergamo, to be a real leader in decarbonization issues.
02:05We have an important appointment that we cannot miss,
02:09which is that of the agreement that we have signed with the European Union
02:14for the zeroing of CO2 from here to 2030.
02:18This is a fundamental part of the agreement with two companies that are of particular relevance.
02:24It is a goal that we are particularly proud of.
02:32On the southern side of Monte Rosa, the second highest peak of the Alps,
02:35the ice floe is extinct, there is no more.
02:37In the 1800s it was as large as 112 football fields,
02:40today it is only a sea of rocks and debris,
02:42while the emptiness of the glacier begins to be colonized by new ecosystems.
02:46Only small snow clumps are visible,
02:49the result of the last late snowfalls of spring 2024.
02:53To take this photo was the third of the six stages of the Caruana di Ghiacciaio 2024
02:58and the national campaign of Liga Ambiente in collaboration with Cipra Italia
03:02and with the scientific partnership of the Italian Glaciological Committee,
03:06which took place from August 18 to September 9, 2024,
03:10on the Alpine glaciers of France, Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Friuli, Slovenia and Veneto.
03:15It should be noted, then, that on the southern slope of Monte Rosa
03:18also the glaciers Dimitro-Fialflua, i.e. the Glacier delle Piode and Sesia-Vigne,
03:23do not pass well.
03:24Since the 1980s, they have retreated more than 600 linear meters.
03:28To weigh on the state of health of the glaciers is the climate crisis.
03:31The high temperatures not only put in suffering those below 3,500 meters,
03:36but also the glaciers located in the highest areas.
03:38With the thermal zero, at increasingly high altitudes,
03:41there is less accumulation of snow and a loss of ice mass is recorded.
03:45However, it also concerns the increase of extreme weather events,
03:48at a rate of 101, those recorded in the regions of the Alpine arch
03:51in the first seven months of 2024 by the Observatory Città Clima di Lega Ambiente.
