00:00Hello, Father Damien here. I'd like to invite you to a short prayer service here in Ballymully at the end of the month.
00:07But, it's a service with a difference, and I want you to bring a friend.
00:11Father Damien, can I come to your service?
00:14Yes, you can come, exactly.
00:16That's good news, isn't it? You see, on Sunday the 29th of September...
00:20Meow!
00:22Father Damien, can I come to your service too?
00:25Yes, you can come too, absolutely.
00:27Meow!
00:28Now, as I was saying, on Sunday the 29th of September, Ballymully Parish is celebrating a blessing of animals.
00:35It's to mark the Church's season of creation, the time when we give thanks to God for all the good things He has given us in the natural world.
00:42And we're taking our inspiration from the great St Francis of Assisi, who had a special love for animals.
00:48So, we would like to invite you and your animal friends to come to Our Lady in St Patrick's Church at 3 o'clock on the 29th.
00:56We'll meet outside and say some prayers, and we'll have a procession round the Church grounds.
01:01Then, I'll be happy to bless your animals.
01:03If you can bring them and look after them, then I'll bless them.
01:06All creatures, great and small.
01:08We'll also have refreshments, a bit of fun, and we're going to take up a collection for Benvarden Animal Rescue, who do such good work right here in this area.
01:17Father Damien, can crocodiles come too?
01:20Yes, well, I can't see any reason why we couldn't have a crocodile too.
01:24Would there be no problem with that, would there?
01:26Not at all.
01:28Yum, yum, yum.
01:31So, that's the blessing of animals on Sunday, the 29th of September at 3 o'clock in Ballymoney.
01:36Bring your furry and feathered friends, but we're going to have to draw the line at crocodiles, aren't we?
01:42He was delicious.
