00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was emotional when he sympathized with young victims of abuse.
00:08He was particularly touched by the story of a survivor of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, or OSAIC.
00:16It happened at an event in Makati City yesterday with the theme of One Nation, One Action.
00:23End Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children, or OSAIC, now Summit 2024.
00:29As I was listening to the young lady, and she is a lady,
00:38I could not help but shed a tear to think, to try to help to relive the suffering that she went through
00:51and to think how many other children are even as we hear sit in this fancy hotel room
01:00eating our fancy food, continuing to suffer the same fate as she has.
01:09And accompanying those tears that I just shed was a deep sense of shame
01:17because we have not done enough for the Philippines to now be considered the epicenter
01:24of, let us not shorten it into a clinical term, OSAIC.
01:33It is sexual abuse and exploitation of children. And I leave it to your imagination.
01:54For child protection.
02:09The expanded anti-trafficking in persons act of 2022.

02:28We are here today to confront one of the greatest challenges of our time.
02:34The challenges that we face in government are always the challenges that are brought to us by
02:39the future. And what exemplifies our future more, what symbolizes our future more than our children.
02:47And that is why this strikes at the very heart of our society.
02:51It undermines the foundations of what we are, of who we are as a people.
02:57No less than our president, Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. said that the most
03:05heinous and evil of all crimes are crimes committed against children, specifically
03:15sexual exploitation. And during this meeting, he ordered all of those present
03:22to immediately crack down on OSAIC. This is our president.
