00:00In the prison of the country, two suspects were arrested for fraud in a motorcycle swap.

00:06One of the suspects admitted to being a modus, while the other admitted that he was just an accomplice.

00:10This is EJ Gomez's exclusive report.

00:17The two men were arrested because of a complaint filed by Estafa in Angono, Rizal.

00:22According to the police, the suspect's modus is an online buy-and-sell of motorcycles.

00:28They buy motorcycles at a low price.

00:31It will be posted online so that it can be swapped for other motorcycles.

00:34And the new unit will be sold at a high price.

00:37Based on the investigation, a 28-year-old man was the one who swapped his bike

00:42that was worth more than P100,000 less than the suspect's scooter, which was worth the same.

00:49This happened in Antipolo City on September 2.

00:52But it was found out that the suspect bought his scooter for only P45,000.

00:57But then after a week, when our victim went to the LTO for transfer of ownership,

01:10that's when he found out that the motorcycle he bought was falsified documents.

01:18The victim tried to contact the person who made the transaction, but his number was blocked.

01:24He also went to the address of the suspect, which was found out by Peque Rin.

01:28He posted it on an online group chat about his experience.

01:40There was also a member of that messaging app who matched the motorcycle he described,

01:49and that person is actually having a transaction to sell this motorcycle.

02:00That's when the victim went to Angono Municipal Police Station.

02:04Another buyer helped him buy a big bike of the suspect's first victim worth P95,000.

02:11In their meet-up at ML Quezon Avenue, Barangay San Isidro, Angono, Rizal this week,

02:16the police arrested the suspect and his accomplice, Umano.

02:19According to the suspect, he started buying and selling bikes in 2019, which were later upgraded for motorcycle trading.

02:26He admitted to his modus operandi.

02:28But he admitted that he was also the victim of buying a motorcycle online.

02:33I thought that the documents were only in Xerox, in Talon Casa.

02:37When I bought it, that's all that was given to me.

02:41I became a campante.

02:42I was also the victim.

02:44I wouldn't have posted the motorcycle if I knew it was like that.

02:47Another arrested person was also arrested.

02:50I'm just his friend.

02:55We will file a complex crime of estafa through falsification of public documents.

03:02The member of the illegal group that buys and sells motorcycles is also looking into the possibility

03:08that the two suspects are now in jail in the custodial facility of Angono Municipal Police Station.
