00:00The Dolphins make their move at quarterback in the signing of Tyler Huntley.
00:14Yes, we have talked about him in the past and actually talked about him as a potential
00:18option to be the backup quarterback for Miami before the regular season began because I
00:22believed at the time that he would be an upgrade over Skyler Thompson and or Mike White.
00:28But it's officially from Tom Pellicero who, he was on the Ravens practice squad and when
00:33you're on a practice squad you can be signed to the active 53 man roster by any other football
00:37team and that is the case so he will be joining the Dolphins 53 man and on the official roster
00:43which means a corresponding move has to be made which is yet to be announced.
00:47We'll have an eye on what that ends up being, whether it be a release of a player, whether
00:51it be Tua heading to IR, either way Tyler Huntley is now your second quarterback behind
00:57Skyler Thompson right now on the 53 man roster.

01:19Alright, people forget by the way, I didn't want to throw this in here, Tyler Huntley
01:23is a former Pro Bowl quarterback.
01:25Now, did he deserve to be a Pro Bowl quarterback?
01:29Probably not.
01:30It was also a similar time frame to when Mac Jones was a Pro Bowl quarterback but either
01:34way he is someone who has had success in the National Football League in the past and listen,
01:39the numbers aren't going to be gaudy, they just aren't.
01:42He was a product of the Raven system where he was able to really find a way to win football
01:49games, right?
01:50He wasn't someone that's going to go light it up but he just did his job in Baltimore
01:54where he got the majority of his playing time and I truly do believe this is at least an
01:59intriguing move because he's not going to beat you with his arm, he's more dynamic with
02:05his legs and I will say he is better than Tim Boyle who if you didn't know, Tim Boyle
02:11was the Dolphins quarterback on the practice squad so they could have just elevated him
02:15to the active roster and those two be your two quarterbacks and Tim Boyle and Skyler
02:21Thompson but Tyler Huntley is better than him and we know that.
02:25Now the question is, is Huntley going to start over Skyler Thompson?
02:30I don't know if that will be the case.
02:32We're going to talk more about that going on in this show but let me know your one word
02:36reaction to the Dolphins siding Tyler Huntley, the former Baltimore Raven, former Cleveland
02:42Brown.
02:43I thought they could have got out and got him before he was released by Cleveland and
02:48picked up by Baltimore and their practice squad.
02:51They ultimately didn't but they spin around now with the needed quarterback and grab him.
02:56My one word for Tyler Huntley being signed to the Dolphins, placeholder.
03:00Now I don't know how long Tug of Aloha is going to be out, we'll have an update for
03:04you if he is placed on IR which would require him to miss four games for the Miami Dolphins
03:10which would be against, by the way, the Seahawks, the Patriots, the Titans, and the Colts.
03:15Think about those four teams fellas and folks at home.
03:19Even without Tua, there is a legit chance you could still go 3-1 in that stretch.
03:25The Titans are absolutely horrible on the offensive side of the football field.
03:30The Patriots don't have that good of a roster.
03:32The Colts, we just saw them lose to Malik Willis and Green Bay.
03:36That offense looks terrible.
03:37There is a legit chance that Miami is able to stay afloat here but I do think this is
03:41a placeholder move because at least as of right now, as much as I have been down on
03:48Skylar Thompson in the past and how I have not believed he can be a starting quarterback
03:53that wins football games for the Miami Dolphins, I do think at least at this point in each
03:59of their respective careers, I would rather trot out Skylar Thompson for the Fins at quarterback.
04:05One, he knows the offense better than Tyler Huntley and two, when you play in a Mike McDaniel
04:10offense with this scheme, you need to be quick, you need to be decisive, and you need to be
04:14accurate with the football.
04:16Now, it remains to be seen if Skylar Thompson can do those things but we have seen Tyler
04:21Huntley play in 20 career games and I have never once watched him play football and thought
04:26at any point, wow, he is very quick, decisive, and accurate with the football.
04:33He can do really fun things outside of the pocket and on the move in the running game
04:37but in terms of standing in the pocket and delivering strikes over the middle of the
04:41field and accurately down the football field, I am not so sure Tyler Huntley can be that
04:45guy which means he is likely going to be the backup to Skylar Thompson at least for one
04:50week which we will talk about more here coming up in a second.

06:32All right, I do truly believe that Skylar Thompson will start this week for the Miami
06:37Dolphins.
06:38I don't see a way that Tyler Huntley would be able to be signed on Monday morning off
06:43of the Ravens practice squad and ready to go with the full command of this offense on
06:48Sunday.
06:49Now if you did that with a Ryan Tannehill, you traded for a Mac Jones, which I believe
06:55these type of situations are now fully off the table.
06:58They're going to ride with Huntley and Skylar Thompson until Tua can return to the football
07:02field.
07:03But I don't think any of those quarterbacks would be able to be ready for a game this
07:08week.
07:09And you got to be ready for Skylar Thompson to start on Sunday in Seattle.
07:14And it hasn't been the prettiest career for Skylar.
07:18He started a playoff game where it wasn't that bad.
07:21And in his career, he's 1-2 as a starter.
07:24His completion percentage stinks and honestly the stats aren't pretty.
07:28If you want to try to be convinced that Skylar Thompson is going to win a football game for
07:31the Dolphins on Sunday, looking at those statistics and looking up his highlights probably aren't
07:36going to help you.
07:37But I do believe he is going to be the starter moving forward for the Miami Dolphins, unless
07:42he is absolutely horrible.
07:44If he goes out on Sunday and the Dolphins offense can't move the football worth a lick,
07:50which the Seahawks defense is no joke by the way, they have a really good secondary
07:55when you think of having Julian Love, Devon Witherspoon, the former top five pick.
08:00You have Tariq Woolen.
08:02They have guys back there.
08:04And they actually really limited the Patriots passing game, although that might not be hard
08:08to do, this past Sunday.
08:10So Skylar Thompson, I think he's going to be your starter.
08:13But if he goes out there and can't muster up scoring opportunities for the Dolphins
08:18whatsoever, that following week four game at home on Monday Night Football against the
08:23Tennessee Titans might be Tyler Huntley starting that game.
08:27But let me know your thoughts on Skylar Thompson.
08:30What is your confidence level in Sky to perform well and potentially get a win for Miami on
08:36the road against Seattle, who is now 2-0.
08:38I think that record doesn't show how good he actually is, or they are as a team by the
08:43way.
08:44They barely beat Denver and they barely beat New England.
08:46And honestly, if you watch that game, they probably should have lost that game.
08:50So they are a team that's beatable.
08:52The 2-0 record doesn't display how well they've actually played through two weeks, but scale
08:56your confidence level on Skylar Thompson down below.
08:58I'll give it a 5.7.
09:01Listen, we watched him in the preseason.
09:04Him and Mike White both looked really bad, in my opinion, wasn't pretty whatsoever for
09:09those two quarterbacks in those preseason games.
09:12But listen, you're going to have to see him because he has the most command of this offense.
09:17He's been here with Mike McDaniel ever since he got hired in 2022 as a UDFA out of Kansas
09:22State.
09:23Excuse me, not UDFA, seventh round pick.
09:25Skylar Thompson is someone who can perform in this offense.
09:28I believe he will at least have a better feel than Tyler Huntley.
09:33And like I said, the only way that I see Tyler Huntley get PT for this Dolphins team is if
09:40Skylar actually goes out there and is absolutely horrific.
09:44I wouldn't judge him on what happened Thursday night against the Bills.
09:46He was playing with a lot of the backups and he was playing on a short week's notice, not
09:51having the full game plan, not working with the one-stringers that upcoming week.
09:55So it'll be interesting to see.

10:02And the Dolphins will have to make a roster move or a corresponding move to bringing in
10:07Tyler Huntley, which I would assume gets announced either later today or early tomorrow.
