00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:03An elderly man from Derbyshire almost lost £10,000 after being targeted by scammers
00:09who posed as police officers and convinced him that his bank account had been compromised.
00:14The man had been contacted by someone claiming to be an officer from Derbyshire Police.
00:19Scammers told him that his bank card had been compromised and then sent a mobile phone to
00:23his address so that he could contact them further.
00:26The next day they told the man to go to a bank and withdraw £10,000 with a cover story
00:30of buying a car.
00:32Fortunately, on the way to the bank the phone ran out of battery so the man popped into
00:36a police station to ask to charge it where police confiscated the phone and gave him
00:40support and advice.
00:43Officers say they have been receiving a high number of reports of police impersonation
00:46fraud in Derbyshire in recent weeks and are warning residents to be vigilant.
00:53A Derbyshire shop owner is set to feature on our TV screens, taking part in a new ITV

00:59This autumn M&S will carry out a nationwide search for its next in-house design talent
01:04with the launch of a competitive series M&S Dress The Nation.
01:08The Designs Challenge format, established as the first of its kind, is being created

01:14Julie who lives in Dromfield is set to take part in this series.
01:18She has owned her own alteration shop for the past 23 years where she makes, alters,
01:23revamps and upcycles customers' clothes.
01:26M&S Dress The Nation will air this autumn on ITV1 and ITVX.
