00:00Welcome to the third day of the 2024 Zagreb Judo Grand Prix in the stunning capital of Croatia.
00:09Today the heavyweights take to the stage showcasing top judo talent with many young
00:13judoka competing for glory. At under 90 kilograms it looked as if the contest would go to golden
00:20score but Hungary's Peter Safrani avoided an attack and turned it into a hold down to his
00:25advantage. With less than 10 seconds left on the clock he held his way to his first
00:30Grand Prix gold medal. IJF Vice President Dr. Laszlo Tut awarded the medals.
00:39I'm really happy, thank you very much. This is my second time to win here a competition
00:45because five years ago I won the Cadet European Cup here in Zagreb and after I won here my first
00:55Grand Prix. At under 78 kilograms Dutch judoka Sanne van Dijk was competing in her new weight
01:01class for the first time and she proved that she fits right in. A new start began with a gold medal
01:07for the experienced world and olympic medalist. IJF Education Director Dr. Sander Chorak awarded
01:13the medals. It has given me the insight that if I'm going to move up to 78 I do have to
01:21um expand my judo a little bit because I think with the judo I get away with in the 70s because
01:26I'm a lot stronger I don't really get away with it with these girls so um but I mean that's exciting
01:31as well because like you're never done learning are you. At under 100 kilograms Ukraine's Anton
01:36Savitsky earned his first Grand Prix gold medal. Awaza Ari's score was enough for him to stand on
01:43the top spot of the podium. Harvest Group CEO Mr. Almaz Alsanov awarded the medals.
01:54At over 78 kilograms France's Coralie Heimer took her first gold medal at a Grand Prix.
02:01Anasoto Gari followed by a hold down scored her Awaza Ari Awasete Ippon to win the contest.
02:07Joy for the French Judoka. IJF Media and Judo for Peace Director Mr. Nicholas Messner awarded
02:14the medals. For Japanese Judoka Kanta Nakano at more than 100 kilograms it was his third
02:21outing on the World Judo Tour and it was here that he finally struck gold. A huge Ippon to
02:26close out the event. IJF General Treasurer Mr. Nasser Al-Tamimi awarded the medals.
02:32The Croatian Judoka showed great talent and determination and the crowd rewarded them.
02:37The local fans absolutely loving the homegrown talent. Thank you for joining us at the 2024
02:43Zagreb Judo Grand Prix. The beauty and warmth of Croatia made this event truly special.
