00:15It was a spectacular day in Salambil.
00:18The sun was shining, the birds were chirping their praises to Allah, the flowers bloomed
00:23lovely shades of lavender and crimson, and most of all, Happy Hamdi's allergy medication
00:29seemed to be working particularly well today.
00:34Alhamdulillah, sang Happy Hamdi breathing in a breath of fresh air.
00:42On the other side of town, however, things were not as chirpy.
00:46Although the sun was shining, the birds singing, and flowers blooming on this side of Salambil
00:51too, Cranky Karim appeared to be less than pleased about it.
00:56Cranky Karim stomped out of his house to check the mail.
00:59Gah, the sun, going to blind me one day, I tell you.
01:06As he reached his mailbox, he covered his ears.
01:08Gah, turn off that racket, isn't it time for you birds to fly south yet, shoo, shoo.
01:17And as he walked back inside, he made certain to stomp all over the colorful flowers.
01:25Cranky Karim sat down and poured his morning coffee into his favorite brown mug.
01:30Gah, out of sugar, he yelled, slamming the sugar pot.
01:35Angrily, he sipped his bitter coffee and immediately spat it back out.
01:39Gah, bitter.
01:43Cereal seemed like a safer option, he thought.
01:46After pouring his cocoa fluff into his bowl, he tilted his carton of milk and, Gah, out
01:54of milk.
01:57Crunch, crunch, crunch, bleh, Cranky Karim mumbled, crunching his dry cereal.
02:06At the park, Cranky Karim sank into the bench and sighed.
02:09Ugh, peace and quiet, finally.
02:14And just as he said this, Happy Humdee skipped over to him.
02:18Why, Cranky Karim, assalamu alaikum.
02:22What a pleasant surprise, how are you doing?
02:26Just the usual, he groaned, and then reluctantly mumbled, and you?

02:42But before Cranky Karim could properly scoff, Happy Humdee bounced away.
02:48Hmph, if only he had half the day I had, he wouldn't be jumping around saying alhamdulillah.
02:57Cranky Karim sneered as he watched Happy Humdee telling Greedy Gamal and Healthy Hasan about
03:01his fantastic day.
03:05Then for the first time that day, Cranky Karim smiled.
03:09He had an idea, and needless to say, when Cranky Karim has an idea, it isn't the most
03:15pleasant.
03:18Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.
03:24Happy Humdee sprinted towards his car for the har prayers when very sneakily Cranky
03:29Karim stuck out his foot and tripped Happy Humdee.
03:36Happy Humdee stood up to find a pounding purple bruise on his nose.
03:40Ouch, goodness me, I need to be more careful.
03:44Hmhm, that must hurt, huh?
03:47Cranky Karim gloated smiling ear to ear.
03:51It sure does, but alhamdulillah.
03:55Happy Humdee beamed as he carefully pounced back to his car.
03:59Cranky Karim was disappointed.
04:01He wasn't expecting Happy Humdee to be so, well, happy.
04:06But then he thought of a bigger, better plan, a much more unpleasant plan.
04:14Happy Humdee walked towards the door of the masjid when suddenly an odd, mysteriously
04:19cranky masked man bumped into Happy Humdee, dropping a tray of syrupy baklava all over
04:25him.
04:26Oh dear, that was sticky, Happy Humdee grinned, licking his fingers.
04:33Alhamdulillah.
04:37Wiping his hands, Happy Humdee continued to walk out the masjid.
04:41Just then his foot hit a rope and a bucket of ice-cold water fell on his head.
04:47Cold, so cold, alhamdulillah, he chuckled, wiping his face.
04:58Drenched from head to toe, Happy Humdee walked to his car.
05:01But yet again something peculiar happened.
05:04His car would not start.
05:06Oh dear, I guess I'll have to walk home.
05:11Alhamdulillah, all praise is to Allah, said Happy Humdee as he stepped out of his car
05:17and made his way down the sidewalk.
05:20Cranky Karim, who was hiding behind a bush, simply could not take it anymore.
05:25He jumped out and gave a frustrated squeal.
05:28Gah, what is wrong with you?
05:32Sticky baklava, the ice-cold water, your broken car, after everything that happened, how can
05:39you still say alhamdulillah?
05:44Happy Humdee chuckled.
05:45Oh, my dear Cranky Karim, if it is Allah's will, then I am thankful.
05:51After all, no plan is better than Allah's plan, alhamdulillah.
05:56Gah, enough!
05:57How can you be happy all the time?
06:00You had sticky syrup all over you.
06:03Happy Humdee giggled.
06:06And some landed in my mouth.
06:07I was so hungry, alhamdulillah.
06:12But then you got wet, Cranky Karim blurted, and alhamdulillah, all the sticky syrup washed
06:20away.
06:21But your car is broken.
06:25You have to walk home.
06:27So my wet fur can dry in the warmth of the sun.
06:31All praise is to Allah, exclaimed Happy Humdee.
06:35Gah!
06:37Cranky Karim was a little, well, cranky, and stomped away, grumbling angrily to himself.
06:44He stopped abruptly and thought.
06:46He simply could not believe Happy Humdee was that grateful.
06:51It's got to be an act, he said.
06:54All of a sudden, Healthy Hasan accidentally bumped into Cranky Karim and knocked him over
06:59while jogging.
07:00Gah!
07:01Why, I order! yelled Cranky Karim as he got up.
07:05Whoosh!
07:06At that moment, a big red train passed by the very railroad track Cranky Karim had been
07:13standing on.
07:15Cranky Karim, oh, are you okay?
07:18I didn't—
07:19You knocked me off a railroad track.
07:22I was standing on a railroad track, sputtered Cranky Karim.
07:27I know.
07:29I'm so very sorry, Cranky Karim.
07:32Oh, it looks like you've sprained your ankle.
07:36I sprained my ankle.
07:39You knocked me over.
07:41I could have been hit by a train, but you knocked me over.
07:45You knocked me to the ground.
