A 34-year-old babysitter has been charged with the murder of an eight-month-old infant at a daycare centre in Taman Kelemak Utama, Alor Gajah.

No plea was entered when Nor Afifah Abdullah Suhaimi was charged before Magistrate Dr Teoh Shu Yee on Friday (Sept 13) as murder cases are under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

00:38Anak Pintar Soleha Child Care Centre at Jalan Kelamak, Utama, on September 6.
00:44No bail was granted for the accused and the court fixed November 13 for next mention.
00:50The baby died shortly after he was sent to a nursery in Alor Gajah by his mother and grandfather at 7.05am that day.
00:58The mother later received a call from the nursery asking her to pick up the child.
01:03Upon arriving, the mother found that the baby's body had turned blue and his nose was bleeding.
01:09The baby was rushed to Hospital Alor Gajah where he was pronounced dead due to the suffocation.
