00:00The Ministry of Finance announced that it will allocate more than RM10 million to the Ministry of Finance
00:06for the purpose of strengthening the development of international athletes under the Podium Programme.
00:11According to the Minister of Finance, the allocation is needed
00:14by taking into account the importance of increasing the number of international athletes' training programmes.
00:20My conversations with Paralympic athletes,
00:25many of them, when they go to a platform like that,
00:29they feel nervous, they feel that they need more training.
00:33If there is no training, it means that the budget must be bigger.
00:36So yesterday I attended with the KBS, the highest level of the Ministry of Finance,
00:40to discuss about the budget for next year.
00:44And we have asked for a bigger budget, especially for Paralympic athletes.
00:49And we have Dato' Subra, a representative of the Malaysian Paralympic Association,
00:54who works closely with the MSN Board.
00:57And we will continue to prioritize.
01:01According to Hena, the allocation of RM10 million for Paralympic athletes is not insufficient,
01:06but requires additional efforts to strengthen it.
01:09At the start of the 2024 budget, the government allocated RM40 million for the entire Podium Programme
01:15and RM10 million was allocated for Paralympic athletes.
01:18I would like to ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State
01:21to provide more Paralympic programs throughout the country, starting next year.
