00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has distributed more than 100 ambulances
00:05for the local governments, especially those in remote areas that need medical services.
00:12This is what Kenneth, a patient, wrote.
00:16Faster access to healthcare.
00:19That is the target of the government to give to LGUs
00:22along with the distribution of patient transport vehicles
00:25that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. himself led.
00:29129 ambulances were turned over to different LGUs in Calabarzon, Bicol Region,
00:36Central Luzon, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley
00:38that are part of the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program of PCSO.
00:43According to the President,
00:44these ambulances are very important in providing medical attention
00:48especially to those in remote and underserved areas of the country,
00:51especially in times of emergencies.
00:53We will be giving these PTVs to provincial, city, and municipal governments
00:59to help ensure that their constituencies will be given the chance to pull through
01:04whenever they need these assets for the rescue,
01:12for the healthcare of those who have become victims to these natural calamities.
01:19These vehicles are vital resources to support our heroes in the medical field,
01:24our first responders.
01:29PCSO continues to strive to strengthen this type of initiative
01:33that is a major part in improving the quality of the healthcare system in the country.
01:38At the same time, he is also encouraging LGUs
01:40to properly use ambulances in giving priority to the interests of those in need.
01:46I am confident that we can build a new Philippines where no Filipino will be left behind,
01:52be it in healthcare or in any other opportunity to live meaningful,
01:57prosperous, and healthy life.
01:59It is what our people need.
02:01It is what Filipinos truly deserve.
02:04The PUNO Executive also emphasized that the government's strengthening system is now complete.
02:08He is determined that everyone will be given a fair treatment,
02:11especially in providing the needs of each community.
02:15Because I know the system,
02:18that when I was a governor,
02:21if you are strong, you can get an ambulance.
02:24If you are not strong, you will be on the list.
02:29That is why I believe that our healthcare system should not be politicized.
02:40Maybe the big change here is that you will no longer go to PCSO,
02:47or to me, or to your governor,
02:49or to your friend, or to your congressman,
02:54and ask them to talk to you.
02:55We don't have an ambulance.
02:57Just wait for an ambulance to come to you.
03:02The 2.1 million pesos for each vehicle fully equipped with medical essentials
03:08such as a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and wheelchair are valuable.
03:12Currently, the procurement process is being carried out
03:16to add another 1,000 ambulances that are worth 2.2 billion pesos.
03:21That is to ensure that each LGU in the country will have one.
03:27Kenneth Paciente for Pambansang TV in Bago, Philippines.
