The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs open with a battle at the bubble after Atlanta, with some fan-favorite drivers hovering near the elimination line as the Round of 16 begins.

00:35Martin loses 18 points to where he was when the day started.
00:40And then we have Denny Hamlin,
00:41where I don't know what happened to Denny yesterday,
00:43I don't know if he spotted him a race,
00:45I don't know what he's trying to do.

00:49Yeah, I think they're gonna wreck.
00:51Yeah, 10-4, I want what you want,
00:53but they're gonna wreck for another 150 laps or so,

00:58because I don't know the strategy,
00:59but their strategy did not work yesterday,
01:02let me say that, and they lose eight points.
01:04These guys have worked themselves into a hole.
01:07And for me, these were three of the guys
01:09that I had possibly going to the final four.
01:12Definitely the final eight, so terrible day for these guys.

01:19hard to gain these points back.
01:21Three-race stretch, you have the bad first race,
01:23you're playing catch-up the next two.
01:25Now, I'm gonna go to the other side.

01:31Alex Bowman, and Austin Sendry.
01:33Those four guys did something yesterday.
01:36They stepped up, they went to a different level.
01:38So as I look at it, bad, bad day
01:41for three of our biggest stars,
01:43but a great day for three or four of our rising stars.
