00:00From London, it's Saturday night, it's ITV, and it's time for Password!
00:08And here's your host, Stephen Mangan!
00:22Good evening, and welcome to Password,
00:25the brand-new game show that's all about words.
00:28I'm Stephen Mangan, and when it comes to words,
00:30I speak the language of love.
00:33Also, basic Spanish.
00:36On the show tonight, one of our contestants
00:38could be taking home a jackpot of £10,000!
00:44But they'll need some help from our resident celebrity team captains.
00:48She's an award-winning writer and actor,
00:51he's a comedian and national treasure.
00:54And to test the natural chemistry of a slowly-fermenting bin bag,
00:59it's Daisy May Cooper and Alan Carr!
01:18Welcome to the show.
01:20Oh, it's so lovely to have you both here.
01:23I'm not meant in bin bags, do you realise?
01:26As you know, this show is all about words.
01:28Do you ever get your words mixed up?
01:30Yeah, incompetent and incontinent.
01:33I'm definitely one of those things, if not both.
01:37Well, I'll keep an eye out.
01:39Alan?
01:41I once mixed up deliveroo with grinder.
01:46Still got a 12-inch meat piece, though, you know what I'm saying?
01:50Right, well, now we know you a little better, let's play Password!
01:59Password is a guessing game.
02:01Get your partner to guess a word by giving them a one-word clue
02:04and you'll win some money. Simple as that.
02:06For example, if the word was cracker, the clue might be nut.
02:10Sorry if that's triggering for anyone who's recently had a vasectomy.
02:14I think it's time we brought out some contestants, don't you?
02:17Daisy, please introduce your team-mate.
02:19Joe from London!
02:35And, Alan, who are you playing with tonight?
02:37It's Joe from Hertfordshire!
02:42Hi, Joe!
02:46Please take a seat.
02:49Welcome, everyone, to Password. Daisy, tell me about your team-mate.
02:52Er, Adisa is a football coach
02:54and you've also got a weird celebrity crush, right?
02:57Yes, Daisy. On Anne Robinson?
02:59Yeah, weakest link, Daisy. What can I say?
03:02No, you're a submissive.
03:05Well, she's older, yeah, the eyes and the glasses, so, yeah.
03:09Eyes and glasses? Wow.
03:14Going to be my lucky night.
03:17Alan, tell us about your team-mate.
03:19OK. Joe, you work in a restaurant. I do.
03:23And you've got three children and six grandchildren. Yep.
03:27Aw. Do you want to do a quick hello to your favourite?
03:32Don't start them off, they do this all the time.
03:35And you say you've got a hidden talent, Joe. What's that?
03:39Apparently, I always know what the time is.
03:42Obviously, without a clock on.
03:46Tell him the time. Yes.
03:48Wow. What is this witchcraft?
03:53What time is it in my mum's house?
03:56The same time as it is here.
03:58No, no, that's wrong.
04:00It's always gin o'clock.
04:04She drinks, she drinks, she drinks.
04:07Well, it is lovely to have you both on the show with us tonight.
04:10Now, let's get on with the game.
04:13APPLAUSE
04:15This is round one, and the game is simple.
04:18Get your partner to guess the password before your opponent does.
04:21You can only give one-word clues.
04:24No made-up words, no hand gestures, no miming,
04:27no running, no ducking, no bombing,
04:29petting I may allow, but only if you buy me dinner first.
04:32I've got my eye on you all.
04:34If anyone fouls, you'll be hearing this noise.
04:37If your partner gets the password on the first clue,
04:39it's worth six points, then five points on the second clue, and so on.
04:42The first team to 25 points wins the round.
04:46Win two rounds tonight, and you'll go through to the final,
04:49where you'll be playing for our £10,000 jackpot!
04:52CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
04:58Now, Adisa and Joe, in this first round,
05:00if you're confident you can get your partner to solve the password
05:03in just one clue, you can choose to boost it,
05:07which makes the password worth a game-changing ten points.
05:11Fail to get it in one, though,
05:13and your opponent has the chance to steal the points.
05:16All ready to play?
05:18CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
05:22Here we go, the first password of the night.
05:24Daisy and Alan, you'll be giving clues to your team-mates, Adisa and Joe.
05:27And it's on your screens now for you at home.
05:30The password is gladiator.
05:33Right, Alan, you're up first tonight.
05:35Do you have a decision to make? Would you like to play,
05:38or would you like to pass?
05:41I'm going to play.
05:43Good for you. Good for you.
05:45CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
05:48Right, then, what's your one-word clue for Joe?
05:52Contenders!
05:54Gladiators!
05:56CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
06:00We're on the same wavelength!
06:03What a start. That's six points to Joe.
06:06Brilliant.
06:08Bring it on! Bring it on, you two! Come on!
06:11All right, here's on to the second password.
06:13Adisa, that's for you. That's your password.
06:16There you go, Joe.
06:18The password is cringe.
06:21Adisa, you're trailing, so you get to choose.
06:24Do you want to play or do you want to pass?
06:26I'm going to play. He's going to play!
06:28CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
06:30OK, Adisa, you can give a one-word clue to Daisy.
06:33This is worth six points.
06:36Ick.
06:38I'm going to say gross.
06:40Gross is not the right answer.
06:43Over to you, Joe. This is worth five points.
06:47Mmm.
06:49BUZZER
06:53That's a foul, Joe. It's a foul.
06:55I'm so sorry, you're not allowed to just make a sound.
06:58You have to actually say a word.
07:02I'm sorry, Joe, you forfeit your turn.
07:04It goes back to Adisa.
07:06Bloody hell.
07:08This is worth four points.
07:10Ready? Yes.
07:12Tacky.
07:14Tacky.
07:16We've had ick, some noise and tacky.
07:22Yuck.
07:24It's not yuck.
07:25Joe, you have a chance.
07:27Oh, God.
07:28To get back into this round for three points.
07:30Please make it a word.
07:33What's your clue, Joe?
07:35Cower.
07:37Cower.
07:39Disgust.
07:40Disgust is not right.
07:42Oh, this is proving difficult.
07:44Back to you, Adisa. Oh, my God.
07:46Embarrassing.
07:49They like that.
07:51Is it cringe?
07:53Yes!
07:55Yes!
07:59Oh!
08:01Oh, Jesus.
08:03We've got there in the end. Well done.
08:05Well done. That's two points to Adisa.
08:08Right, there's the next password.
08:10Daisy, that's for you. Alan, that's for you.
08:12Thank you. OK.
08:14The password is Botox.
08:20Right, the score's a 6-2 to Joe.
08:22So, Daisy and Adisa, it's your turn.
08:24Do you want to play or do you want to pass?
08:26I'm going to play. She's going to play.
08:32Wrinkles.
08:36Witches.
08:38Oh!
08:41I beg your pardon?
08:43No, you're not...
08:45No, Alan, for five points, what's your clue?
08:49Injection.
08:51Botox.
08:53CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
08:58Very good. Very good.
09:00Five points.
09:02What made you think witches when you looked at Daisy?
09:05Oh, don't do that. I'm just asking!
09:08Another five points to Joe.
09:11Here we go, next password, Adisa.
09:13There we go, Joe, that's your password.
09:16The password is Wipe.
09:20Adisa, you're trailing.
09:22I'm going to play. Going to play, OK.
09:24Yes! Good luck.
09:31Wet.
09:34LAUGHTER
09:39A lot of them.
09:41Wet, Daisy?
09:43I'm going to say suit.
09:45No!
09:47Over to you, Joe, for five points.
09:49Bum.
09:53We've had wet and bum.
09:59Oh, wipe.
10:01CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
10:07Very good clue.
10:11Well done, Joe, another five points.
10:13The scores are 16 to you, just two to you, Adisa, at the moment.
10:16So you've got some catching up to do.
10:18Still all to play for. You've got to get to 25.
10:21Here we go. Daisy, there's your password.
10:24Thank you, Alan.
10:25Oh, my God.
10:27The password is Gobble.
10:37Daisy, would you like to play or would you like to pass?
10:41I'm going to play.
10:45This I've got to say.
10:49Turkey.
10:58Turkey.
11:02I'll just translate that for you, it's turkey.
11:05What's your answer, Adisa?
11:07Bird. Bird is not the right answer.
11:09Alan, over to you, this is worth five points.
11:14Waffle.
11:18Oh, my!
11:21I beg your pardon?
11:23Waffle.
11:28Mouthful.
11:30We've had turkey and mouthful.
11:32Mouthful.
11:34Gobble.
11:35Gobble!
11:42I love it.
11:44Joe's a dirty cow, too, I love it.
11:48That is raveling.
11:51Well, Joe is storming ahead, she has 21 points.
11:54Oh, no!
11:56This could tip you over the edge to 25.
11:59Come on, Adisa, we need you to step up here.
12:02There you go, Joe. Thank you.
12:04The password is TikTok.
12:07OK, Adisa, what do you want to do?
12:09This is a crucial moment in the game.
12:11I'm going to play. Going to play.
12:13Good luck, good luck.
12:19APPLAUSE
12:23App.
12:26App.
12:30Er...
12:32..TikTok?
12:33Yes!
12:35Oh, my God!
12:39How did you get that?
12:41We locked in there, we locked in.
12:43We locked in. We locked in.
12:44That was psychic.
12:46TikTok?
12:47Well, her with her bloody clocks.
12:49It's not crazy.
12:51Very good.
12:52What time is it right now?
12:54Five past eight.
12:55Is that right?
12:57It is in Paris, it is in Paris.
13:05Right, Adisa, some much-needed points there.
13:07You're still trailing 21-8.
13:09Daisy, there's your password.
13:11Alan, there's yours. Thank you.
13:13The password is crack.
13:23Daisy, you're trailing. Would you like to play or pass?
13:25I'm going to play. Going to play.
13:33For six points.
13:35Snap.
13:38Snap.
13:40Break.
13:41Break is not the right answer.
13:44Over to you, Alan, for five points and to win the round.
13:50Bum.
13:54You can't help yourself.
13:56Joe, snap, bum, what's the answer?
14:00Pop.
14:03Pop is not right.
14:04Back to Adisa. You live again for four points.
14:09Smash.
14:12Crack.
14:13Yes!
14:17Clever thing!
14:20Crack was correct. That's four points.
14:22You've now got 12 points.
14:23You're catching up. It's 12-21.
14:25Come on, Joe.
14:29Here we go, Adisa. You're up next.
14:32There you go, Joe.
14:35The password is freaky.
14:38You're still behind, Adisa.
14:40You can play, you can pass, you can boost.
14:43Play and boost.
14:47How about that?
14:49So, Adisa, you've chosen to boost.
14:51If Daisy can guess the password in one clue,
14:54you will gain a huge ten points.
14:57Don't forget, if you get it wrong,
14:59Joe can try and steal the points with a single clue.
15:02So, Adisa, for ten points, what's your one-word clue?
15:07Friday.
15:12Wait?
15:16That is not correct.
15:18So, Joe, that means you have a single clue to give Alan
15:23to try and steal the ten points and win the first round.
15:27What's your clue, Joe?
15:28Weird.
15:31Freaky.
15:32Yes!
15:37CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
15:40Very good.
15:41I'm so sorry. I love that film.
15:44Oh, congratulations, that is the password.
15:46You've just stolen the ten points from Adisa with 31 points.
15:49Joe wins the first round!
15:54That's the end of the first round and Joe is in the lead.
15:56Time for a break.
15:57But before we go, I've got a password for you to solve at home
16:00and it's about Daisy.
16:02The clue is chest.
16:04But what is the password?
16:06Find out after the break.
16:21Welcome back to Password, the word-based game show so simple
16:25that even your four-year-old dog can understand it.
16:28Before the break, I gave you a clue to a password
16:30that was somehow related to Daisy.
16:32The clue was chest.
16:34I can reveal the password is...
16:38So, Daisy, what was the story about your freezer?
16:41Well, it's actually my mum's freezer.
16:43She keeps her dead parrots in the freezer.
16:46Isn't this mad?
16:48My mum had a parrot called Claude who was an absolute bastard.
16:51He was 66, so he was alive during the moon landings.
16:54Anyway, accidentally flew into some double glazing and...
16:58And, yeah, she puts him in the freezer
17:00because she doesn't know where to bury him.
17:02Next to the fish fingers, she feeds my kids.
17:05Oh, no.
17:06But it's been there five years.
17:08Five years? Yeah.
17:09Was she hoping that technology will catch up
17:11and they'll be able to reanimate them?
17:13I had no idea.
17:14You know, you said the parrot was alive during the moon landings.
17:17Yeah.
17:18Do you ever talk about the moon landings?
17:21Neil Armstrong!
17:26On with the game, and our contestants Adisa and Jo
17:28are going head-to-head for the chance to win
17:30tonight's jackpot of £10,000!
17:35During the break, our team captains swapped teams,
17:37so now Alan is playing with Adisa and Daisy is playing with Jo.
17:41Jo, you won the first round. Very good.
17:43Remember, you have to win two rounds to get through to the final.
17:46Are you excited to play with Daisy?
17:48Yeah, the women are going to smash it.
17:50You're going to smash it?
17:51You had a very good rapport with Alan, though.
17:53Do you think you'll be able to recreate that?
17:55I don't mind, so...
17:56I think our minds were sort of on the same level.
17:58Very low. The gutter.
18:04Adisa, you were catching up. You were unlucky there.
18:06I know. They've done well, though. Jo done really well with that.
18:09She did really well.
18:10Shall I be strict with you, like Anne Robinson?
18:12Yeah.
18:13We might hope.
18:15That's not very good, is it, Adisa?
18:17You are the weakest link. Go back.
18:21OK, on to round two, and things are about to get bigger and better.
18:24It's Super Password.
18:26In this round, when you correctly guess the password,
18:28it goes up on our clue board,
18:30and you'll get a chance to guess the super password,
18:32which is one word that links to all the passwords in this round.
18:36So, if the passwords were cat, dog, budgie, rabbit, hamster,
18:41the super password would be pets,
18:45or the contents of Daisy's mum's freezer.
18:51She's going to watch this.
18:55As before, you get points for every password you solve,
18:58but if you correctly guess the super password,
19:00you automatically win the round.
19:02So, if you get a chance to guess it, go for it.
19:05Are you ready, teams? Yes!
19:07Let's play Super Password!
19:10CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
19:13OK, so, as before, we start by guessing a password,
19:16and here is the first password of the round.
19:19That is for you, Alan. Thank you.
19:21And that's your password there, Daisy.
19:24And for you at home, the password is now on your screens.
19:27The password is dirty.
19:30Right, one more thing you need to know.
19:32If at any point during this round,
19:34any of you are struggling to think of a clue for your team-mate,
19:37you can always ask the host.
19:39That's me to give you a clue on your behalf.
19:41I make no promises about how good the clue will be, though.
19:44OK, Joe took the first round, so, Adita and Alan,
19:46you have some catching up to do.
19:48Alan, you're first up. Would you like to play or would you like to pass?
19:51I'm going to play. Going to play.
19:53CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
19:59Grimy.
20:02Grimy.
20:04Grimy.
20:06Nodding confidently.
20:08Nasty.
20:11Is not right.
20:13Over to you, Daisy, for five points.
20:17Filthy.
20:21Dirty.
20:22CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
20:27That is correct.
20:29Five points to Joe.
20:31Now, Joe, you've got the chance to guess the answer to the superpassword.
20:34So, remember, this is one word
20:36that links to all the passwords in this round.
20:38The first clue is dirty.
20:40All you've got to go on at this point,
20:42but you might as well have a guess.
20:44Any idea what the superpassword might be?
20:46Dancing.
20:47Dancing.
20:48It's a good guess, but it's not right.
20:51On we go.
20:53Here we go. Adita, there you go.
20:56And Joe.
20:59The password is hill.
21:02Adita, you're trailing.
21:04You get to choose. Do you want to play or do you want to pass?
21:08Play.
21:09Play.
21:10CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
21:13What's your clue?
21:19Henman.
21:21Henman.
21:25Henman.
21:29Henman.
21:31Henman.
21:33Tim.
21:34Tim.
21:36It's not the right answer.
21:37Over to you, Joe, for five points.
21:40Harry.
21:46Henman and Harry.
21:50Tennis?
21:51No.
21:53It's not tennis.
21:54Back to you, Adita, for four points.
21:57Top.
21:58Hill.
21:59CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
22:08Well done, Adita. That's four points.
22:11But more importantly, it's your first chance to solve the superpassword.
22:15The clues so far are dirty and hill.
22:18What word could link those?
22:26You get this right, you win the round.
22:30Harry.
22:31Harry.
22:32Oh, God, yes!
22:33I think it is, yeah.
22:35Your guess is Harry.
22:37Let's see if that's right.
22:39Yes!
22:41CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
22:44That's amazing!
22:47Oh!
22:49Oh!
22:52Decent.
22:53That was insane.
22:55How did you get it so quickly?
22:57Well, I looked at hill.
22:59Yeah.
23:00Harry Hill is one of my favourites.
23:02And then Dirty Harry, so...
23:04Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:05That was the link.
23:06Harry.
23:07Fantastic. Well, that's correct.
23:08You've just solved the superpassword and won the round.
23:11Oh, my God.
23:13Five out of ten.
23:15Let's see what the rest of the clues would have been.
23:18Wizard.
23:19Harry Potter.
23:20Prince.
23:22And name. Prince, Harry and a name, yeah.
23:24Our two contestants are tied at one round apiece,
23:26which means we go to a tiebreaker.
23:28It's Sudden Death.
23:30Alan and Daisy are going to sit this out.
23:32It's Adisa versus Joe in a head-to-head showdown
23:35for a chance to play for £10,000.
23:38CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
23:41Here's how it works.
23:43I will reveal a total of five clues to a password,
23:47one word at a time.
23:49As soon as you think you know the password, buzz in.
23:53If you're right, you'll move on to the final round.
23:56But if you guess incorrectly,
23:58your opponent will be allowed to see all the rest of the clues
24:01before making a final guess.
24:03So it's risk versus reward.
24:06On your feet, please, let's get ready to play.
24:09There you go. Thank you, sir.
24:12OK, to make it into the final,
24:14your first clue is...
24:17..blowing.
24:20Your second clue is...
24:26Adisa has buzzed in. Adisa, to go through to the final,
24:29what do you think the answer is?
24:31Bubbles.
24:33You're saying bubbles.
24:35Let's see if you're right.
24:38He's right!
24:39CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
24:43Congratulations, Adisa, it was bubbles.
24:49Once again...
24:51..so fast.
24:52Let's see what the remaining clues would have been.
24:55Double, double bubble.
24:57Soap bubble and burst.
24:59Adisa, that means you've won the round.
25:01You're heading into the final.
