We ask Londoners what they like to do when it rains in the capital
Transcript
00:00A blast of cold arctic air is set to sweep over the UK this week, sending temperatures
00:06tumbling after a wet weekend. After a week where most days topped out at around 20 degrees,
00:12London, according to the Met Office and BBC Weather, is not set to reach temperatures
00:17beyond 15 degrees from Wednesday to Friday of the week to come.
00:23But what do Londoners like to do when it's raining or cold outside?
00:28I'm up for going out in the rain. I feel like it doesn't scare me off. I feel like it's
00:33nice to be out in the rain. Sometimes, you know, it's a bit of atmosphere. That's what
00:37being in London's about really. You can't really avoid it most of the time, so I'm not
00:40just going to stay inside when it's raining.
00:42Sandals? No. As I got older, I really enjoy the rain. So going for a walk in the park
00:49in the rain with no umbrella is kind of my favourite thing. So I'm a summer baby, my
00:53birthday's at the end of August, but I adore autumn.
00:57I think I'm going to have like a coffee or something in some place where I can breathe
01:04or, I don't know, like do some research.
01:07Well, I love visiting museums. I'm really a kind of bookish guy, so I love cultural,
01:13I will say, endeavours and activities.
01:17I do prefer the summer, but I think London in the winter is definitely special. We don't
01:22get enough snow anymore though. No, no way.
01:26The pub. Definitely the pub.
01:33Temperatures at night are likely to fall as low as 7 degrees on Wednesday night, with
01:37chilly weather and further showers on the cards when an Arctic blast hits from Tuesday
01:43and Wednesday.
01:45Met Office forecaster Craig Snell was quoted on Sunday as saying, as we go through into
01:50Tuesday and Wednesday and beyond, we will start to see even cooler air begin to move
01:55in from the Arctic.
