00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're looking at video games it feels like we've been waiting
00:10an eternity for.
00:17Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring

00:27We'll start with one that pretty much every player on the planet has been waiting forever
00:39for.
00:40GTA 6.
00:41The previous installment launched in 2013 and was so successful that new versions were
00:46released on the two following generations of platforms.
00:49While its online counterpart has received a ton of support, fans have been dying for
00:54a brand new installment.
00:56At one point, we were treated to a new game or spin-off nearly every year.
01:01But in this day and age of ballooned development periods, plus Rockstar releasing Red Dead
01:05Redemption 2, we've had to be patient for any official word on a sequel.
01:10That word came in late 2023 with a record-breaking announcement trailer and news that it would
01:16come in 2025.
01:18Hollow Knight Silksong.
01:35Even in the crowded indie metroidvania market, Hollow Knight stood out with its incredible
01:40art style, music, atmosphere, and worldbuilding.
01:44Several DLC expansions followed, including one that transformed into a full game.
01:50That we still don't have a release date for.
01:52The sequel was officially announced in 2019, but it has been hit by several delays since.
01:59It's gotten to a point where fans wait with bated breath at every Xbox showcase or Nintendo
02:04Direct, big or small, with the slim hope that maybe, this time, they'll get some news.
02:11Most are willing to remain patient since developer Team Cherry is a smaller studio,
02:16but that doesn't change the fact that it's one of the most anticipated indie sequels
02:20of all time.
02:27Everwild.
02:34We here at Mojo Plays love us some Rare, from the developer's time working on Nintendo
02:40classics, to its modern day era with Sea of Thieves.
02:43The studio began working on a brand new IP in 2014, and announced Everwild in 2019.
02:50While we were immediately pulled in by its cel-shaded world and unique magic, the game
02:55went silent after a couple of trailers.
02:58Development was reportedly restarted in 2021 after the creative director left, which isn't
03:04exactly a promising sign.
03:06Additionally, the story and gameplay are a bit of a mystery, supposedly blending traditional
03:10action-adventure elements with god-like simulation mechanics.
03:14The studio's reputation is strong enough to keep us interested, so hopefully we get some
03:19more news in the near future.
03:31Dragon Age The Veil Guard
03:41Regardless of how you felt when the game was finally revealed, which by all accounts was
03:46very mixed, there's no denying that Dragon Age fans have been waiting quite a long while
03:51for a new game.
03:53Development began in 2015, a year after the release of Dragon Age Inquisition.
03:58However, troubles from Bioware's other games, like 2019's Anthem, have set this one back
04:03a bit.
04:04It was even cancelled and rebooted at one point.
04:07First titled Dread Wolf, Dragon Age The Veil Guard was also affected by high staff turnover,
04:12and its reveal drew some unfavorable comparisons to God of War.
04:16Still, this series has a lot of potential.
04:19Although there's some apprehension, we look forward to trying it for ourselves.
04:30System Shock 3
04:37For all its praise, System Shock was never a high seller, which is why a potential third
04:42game has failed to get off the ground a few times.
04:46Back in the day, poor sales of the second game caused the original developer's ideas
04:50to be scrapped.
04:51Visceral Games thought of making it before settling on a new IP in Dead Space.
04:56Then, in 2015, it was officially announced at Othercide Entertainment, but there have
05:01been a lot of issues since, including changes in publisher.
05:05As of 2020, the rights had transferred to Tencent, its own can of worms, and there have
05:10been conflicting reports about the game's state since.
05:14Needless to say, hopes are not very high.
05:27Bioshock 4
05:36Inspired by our previous entry, Bioshock became the hugely successful series that System Shock
05:42never could.
05:43However, after DLC for 2013's Infinite, creator Ken Levine decided to step away from
05:49the series, eventually letting go of a lot of staff and rebranding Irrational Games as
05:55Ghost Story Games.
05:562K retained the publishing rights, though, and announced in 2019 the forming of a new
06:02internal studio, Cloud Chamber, to work on the next installment.
06:06To say word has been scarce ever since then would be putting it mildly.
06:11While several Bioshock alumni have joined the new team, we've yet to hear much about
06:15it other than its alleged 1960s Antarctica setting and a single leaked screenshot in
06:22July of 2024.
06:28Metroid Prime 4 Beyond
06:36Revealed the same year the Switch was released, the announcement trailer for Metroid Prime
06:404 was just one of the many ways Nintendo dominated 2017.
06:45It was an especially hopeful return to form considering the franchise's less than great
06:51previous entries, Federation Force, and Other M. But then came the wait.
06:57Development was restarted with original trilogy developers Retro Studios in early 2019.
07:03We basically got no news following this, with a few job listings being the only way to glean
07:09any information.
07:10Fans were given 2021's Dread and the 2023 remaster of the first Prime in the meantime.
07:16But we finally got a look at it during a June 2024 direct, along with news that it would
07:21be releasing in 2025.
07:23Thankfully, the wait is coming to a close.
07:34Half-Life 3
07:41This type of list just wouldn't feel complete without Half-Life 3.
07:45Following the release of Half-Life 2 Episode 2 in 2007, players waited for a continuation
07:50of the story that would never come.
07:53The planned Episode 3 was cancelled when Valve began work on a new engine, and a full-fledged
07:58sequel, which was reportedly in early development from 2013 to 2014, was also scrapped.
08:04However, the series is so monumental that this game has remained on every player's
08:10wish list throughout the years.
08:12Valve did release a prequel, 2020's VR-only Half-Life Alyx, to strong reviews, but it
08:18still wasn't exactly what the fanbase was hungry for.
08:21Recent data mines point towards Valve working on a new Half-Life, but whether or not it's
08:26Half-Life 3 remains to be seen.
08:36Beyond Good and Evil 2
08:50While the original Beyond Good and Evil was a poor seller, it later gained a passionate
08:55cult following and the recognition that it deserved.
08:58We first got a look at a possible sequel in a 2008 trailer, but Ubisoft would then go
09:02silent about the project for nearly a decade.
09:05It was announced again at E3 2016, while the following year's reveal trailer showed it
09:11was a prequel.
09:12Things seemed to be progressing, with more footage shown both to the public and to journalists
09:17in a private presentation.
09:18But for the last several years, the sequel has all but vanished.
09:23Creator Michel Ancel left Ubisoft in 2020 amid workplace abuse allegations.
09:28It broke the record for longest AAA game spent in development in 2022, and in 2023, creative
09:35director Emile Morel passed away.
09:38Ubisoft stated in June 2024 that the game was still in development, but who knows how
09:43much longer we'll be waiting.
09:53The Elder Scrolls VI
10:00You can't release one of the most groundbreaking fantasy action RPGs of all time without your
10:05fanbase developing an intense craving for more.
10:09Skyrim launched way back in 2011, and has seen several ports and remasters since.
10:16Similar to GTA, we used to get a new game and a few expansions across a couple of years
10:21before a new adventure soon after.
10:23But in addition to other games, Bethesda has also been busy with the franchise's online
10:28entry.
10:29Even though there was no way it was going to release soon, that didn't stop the studio
10:33from announcing The Sixth Elder Scrolls at E3 2018.
10:37Which was entirely too soon, and has only made the wait ache more.
10:42As of early 2024, the game was in an early build state, so that feeling of waiting forever
10:48will be dragging out a good deal longer.
