Public libraries are in 'crisis' as councils cut services - when was the last time you visited the library and how often do you visit? How big of a priority should saving libraries be for local councils?

00:00I used to go to the library every week as a youngster. I used to borrow a few books
00:04every couple of weeks. I don't go as often now because life is getting busier maybe and
00:12I don't see as many libraries around really.
00:15Public libraries I haven't found much of a use for in recent years just because of the
00:19advent of free resources online and I imagine that's probably one of the main issues that's
00:24causing them to be closed down. I don't think it's quite sad, they are a bit of an institution.
00:29There are a lot of people who have very fond memories of just going and getting books out
00:34whenever they want.
00:35The last time I was in was about a month ago because I go out and head in the library a
00:38lot so they've got the post office in there as well so then I'm in the post office but
00:41then I end up going to the library as well. I grew up in libraries, I love them, I absolutely
00:46love them. They're a really important community space so yeah for me it'd be a shame to see
00:51any of them go. I think they're really important.
00:54If they're all to close it would be a really bad reflection on society I think.
