00:00Government Service Insurance System, or GSIS, extends its emergency loans to members and
00:05pensioners in entangled heat areas once these places are officially declared in a state of
00:12calamity. GSIS members and pensioners in places affected by the Southwest Monsoon and Super
00:19Typhoon Karina can still apply until their respective deadlines. To qualify, active
00:24members must live or work in a calamity area, have paid at least 6 premiums, and meet other
00:31criteria. Old age and disability pensioners must ensure their net pension is at least
00:3725% after loan deductions. Existing loan holders can borrow up to Php 40,000 to settle previous
00:46loans while others can borrow up to Php 20,000. The loan has a 6% annual interest rate and a
00:543-year repayment term. Eligible members and pensioners can apply online via the GSIS Touch
01:01mobile app or a GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System kiosk located in GSIS branches nationwide.
