02:00The confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President became controversial in 2022
02:05when the Php 125 million spent by the OVP was released within 11 days.
02:12After the Commission on Audit examined the liquidation of the received funds,
02:17it was found that the Php 73 million was not wasted.
02:21In the Notice of Disallowance dated August 8, 2024,
02:24the Php 70 million was used to pay for cash, various goods, and medicines.
02:31But the documents were not used to show the success of the information and surveillance.
02:38The Php 3.5 million bought by LAMESA, CILIA, Computer, and Printer were also used for confidential funds.
02:46But the OVP did not clarify that these funds will be used for confidential activities.
02:50According to Rep. Herviliar Luistro,
02:53the Office of the Vice President tried to stop COA from giving its audit report to the Camera.
02:59They don't want to show what is included in this audit report that includes the Notice of Disallowances.
03:10According to OVP Spokesman Atty. Michael Poa, they will now issue the funds to COA.
03:15That is subject to appeal.
03:17In fact, we are given six months under COA's own rules to appeal the Notice of Disallowance to the Commission proper.
03:25We will provide additional documents to show to COA that there is no wrong spending of money here.
