00:01:21Dream later tonight in this arena, what used to be known as the Mecca,

00:01:26now the Wisconsin Center.

00:01:28The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan and Crispin Wong will battle.

00:01:31They battled last night on TNT, but tonight, pinfalls will count anywhere.

00:01:36Let me tell you what, guys, when I was growing up as a kid,

00:01:38it was always big news when somebody would run in and say, you know, so

00:01:41and so down the road there, they had a domestic dispute.

00:01:45There was a woman and two guys, and there was a fighting over, and

00:01:49there was a domestic dispute.

00:01:50Well, you got a live opportunity here on the mothership on TBS

00:01:55to see a real live domestic dispute.

00:01:57Kevin Sullivan, Crispin Wong, this thing, guys,

00:02:54You can look in the eyes of the man sometime

00:02:56and see that he means business.

00:02:59And as we look in the eyes of a former Cruiserweight champion,

00:03:01we know this is his opportunity.

00:03:04Last night in Chicago, sold out at the United Center,

00:03:08they saw the ultimate dragon routine, the Cruiserweight Championship.

00:03:12This is a return match.

00:03:13And we welcome to our broadcast location Mike Tenet.

00:03:17And Mike, how about this one?

00:03:19Tony, they had a killer match to kick off Starcade,

00:03:22and what a way to open the Clash.

00:03:25Judging by the two recent Cruiserweight Championship matches,

00:03:28we should be in for a real treat.

00:03:30I think in terms of pure technical wrestling,

00:03:32it just doesn't get much better than this.

00:03:35Dragon ended Malzenko's second World's title reign back at Starcade.

00:03:39Then of course, he won that hotly contested affair last night.

00:03:42So down two-zip in head-to-head title competition,

00:03:46he and Malzenko have something to prove tonight at the Clash.

00:03:49From Tokyo, Japan, by way of Mexico City,

00:03:53the WCW Cruiserweight Champion,

00:03:56The Ultimate Dragon!

00:04:02The Ultimate Dragon making his way to the ring

00:04:04in this opening bout here on the Clash of the Champions.

00:04:07Malzenko has made the Cruiserweight Championship, gentlemen, his goal,

00:04:11his holy grail, so to speak.

00:04:13Nothing has been able to deter his efforts

00:04:15except the tremendous talent of this Ultimate Dragon.

00:04:19You know what, I might, going by the dressing room prior to this event,

00:04:23I had looked in the eyes,

00:04:24Demon Legal always is up for the test.

00:04:26He always knows opportunity is knocking,

00:04:29but let me tell you something,

00:04:31there is a focus in his eyes right now, guys,

00:04:34that I haven't seen before in him,

00:04:36and I guarantee you, this is gonna be a classic match-up reign.

00:04:40You know why, Dusty? Because he's had a taste of it.

00:04:43He's an animal, basically.

00:04:44That's what he does for a living, he beats people up.

00:04:46He's had a taste of that championship.

00:04:48He's had a taste of that fame and fortune and all that money,

00:04:50and he wants it again.

00:04:51Plus, he's a very proud man, and this is his craft,

00:04:54this is what he does best, he wrestles.

00:04:56Dean Malenko is rarely distracted

00:04:59among the most focused competitors that I've ever seen.

00:05:01I agree with you, Dusty, but remember,

00:05:03he fell victim to Sonny Ono's distraction at Starrcade.

00:05:07That was unusual, too, to see him have

00:05:10the Texas Cloverleaf ready to step in

00:05:12and put this thing away,

00:05:14and then go ahead and let Sonny Bono distract him.

00:05:17But right here, I believe it's gonna be

00:05:18a different story tonight in the Mecca.

00:05:20Mecca, Tony, means everybody's here and everybody's coming.

00:05:28and into a hammerlock goes Dean Malenko.

00:06:58We must make mention of the fact,

00:07:00as we have on our programs here on the Superstation,

00:07:02on WCW Saturday night, on WCW Pro and the main event,

00:07:06that in between Starrcade and the time now, Mike, today,

00:07:11the Ultimo Dragon lost the J-Crown Championship

00:07:13to Jushin Thunder Liger.

00:07:15Well, you might say that the Dragon is fortunate

00:07:17to still have possession of the WCW World's

00:07:19Cruiserweight belt, because just over two weeks ago,

00:07:22over 60,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome saw Jushin Liger

00:07:26win the Cruiserweight title unification match,

00:07:28but Dragon's WCW belt was not at stake.

00:07:31Right now, Malenko, Mike.

00:07:34Yeah, he's got to be aggressive.

00:07:36While we're the way, you know, everybody's saying,

00:07:37well, why don't they tell us what happened today

00:07:39with the way?

00:07:40Well, we're the way.

00:07:40Ultimo Dragon really wasn't working on the leg

00:07:42of Dean Malenko.

00:07:43Right now, Malenko, I might guess what we talked about.

00:07:46The focus is, whoa, is right for the title.

00:08:54in the NWO's first ever pay-per-view.

00:09:06will be part of that big event.

00:09:08is because the WCW guys are really buying in that thing.

00:09:11And you know, I believe that kick

00:09:14that just happened to Ultimo Dragon,

00:09:15he wanted to tell him that there's two guys in here,

00:09:18you know what I mean?

00:09:18And he's just as focused as Dean Malenko.

00:09:20Here he comes, trying to round him up.

00:09:32It's very hard to beat him two matches in a row.

00:09:35It's gonna be very hard for the Dragon to do that.

00:09:37Now Malenko is, you can see,

00:09:39he's taking advantage of a situation.

00:09:44and holding on the ankle.

00:10:11in an effort to, at some point in time,

00:10:13employ that Texas Cloverleaf

00:10:15and go for the submission victory.

00:11:02Jushin Liger and Rey Mysterio Jr.

00:11:04have separated themselves from the rest of the pack

00:11:06in the Cruiserweight division.

00:11:08And while we marvel at these high-risk offenses.

00:11:14just what we talked about.

00:11:15We have to understand about that chance for injury

00:11:18that's always present.

00:11:19Rey Mysterio, currently sidelined

00:11:21with a knee injury.

00:11:24for a couple of weeks.

00:11:43it was supposed to be Rey Mysterio

00:11:44and Lord Steven Rigg over the television belt,

00:11:46but because of the injury,

00:11:48that could not happen here tonight.

00:11:51Focusing on the legs.

00:11:54Unusual that he went ahead and let the leg go,

00:11:56went down for the pin right there.

00:11:58Obviously, he thought he had him in a situation

00:11:59to go ahead, put some pressure down on his head,

00:30:09understands the opportunity, maybe not speak Spanish,

01:14:55and so Scott has not seen that much action, and that will certainly benefit in the long run

01:21:07carried the weight of WCW on his shoulders these past few months. And Sting has been

01:21:13the mysterious one, if you will. Well, just look at Luger in the last couple of months,

01:21:19the matches he's had, how he's picked people up in that torture act, men well over 400 pounds.

01:21:24There's no doubt about it. He is the total package. What are you going to do when you're

01:21:28outnumbered? Six, seven, eight members of the NWO. Let us see how strong you are.

01:21:33That was a good move, but Luger bounces up.

01:21:36And Scott Hall's a veteran. He didn't start yesterday. He knows what to do in that ring.

01:24:07out, that gave the WCW Executive Committee the power to force him to put the title up.

01:24:14And NWO sold out this coming Saturday, which will take place.

01:24:22Now, Luger, the effects of that tremendous clothesline from Kevin Nash on the outside.
