00:00The groups were divided into two teams, men versus women.
00:04What is your team name?
00:05VersaCorp.
00:06Protégé Corporation.
00:07They expected a complicated stock market task,
00:10but instead started with the basics.
00:12You're going to sell lemonade.
00:14At Protégé, Erica and Omarosa were immediately off to a rocky start.
00:19I really didn't appreciate being told I was one in charge,
00:21but then being said, this is what we're doing.
00:23She's totally irrational.
00:25After the men of VersaCorp chose a bad location...
00:28We need to move. We need to move now.
00:30...Sam resorted to desperate measures.
00:32We may have to get some guy to give us $1,000.
00:35This guy is going crazy.
00:37The women proved that sex sells and easily defeated the men.
00:41Win!
00:42The men went to the boardroom where Troy was held partially responsible,
00:45but he also held David and Sam responsible for the team's failure.
00:50Troy, you've done a lousy job as the leader.
00:53Despite that, you did step up, so I'm going to let you stay.
00:56I'm going to stand right here in front of you,
00:58and if you have to punch me in the stomach
01:00and tell me to sit down and shut up, I'll shut up.
01:03Sit down. Sam, you're a wild man.
01:05You'll do great, or you'll be a total disaster.
01:08On the other hand, David, I don't see that you stepped up at all.
01:11You even admitted that you wouldn't have been a good leader.
01:14You're fired.
01:16Fifteen are left.
01:17Who will be fired this week?
01:26Money, money, money, money, money.
01:30Money, money, money, money, money.
01:35Some people got to have it.
01:40Do thangs, do thangs, do thangs, bad thangs.
01:47Dollar bills, y'all.
01:48Come on, man.
01:49Deal, oh, deal.
01:53Make great almighty dollar.
01:57I don't know that money.
02:01Give me a nickel, brother.
02:03Can you well die?
02:06Money can drive some people out of their mind.
02:11Money, money, money, money.
02:16These guys have been on the boardroom this entire time.
02:20Yeah.
02:21I think I messed up.
02:23Sam and David.
02:25Troy was missing, Sam was missing, and David was missing.
02:28We were really sad for them.
02:30We're talking this type of stuff.
02:32Would you let him have the money?
02:35I don't know.
02:36I don't know.
02:37I don't know.
02:38I don't know.
02:39I don't know.
02:40I don't know.
02:41I don't know.
02:42I don't know.
02:44Would you let him have the chips?
02:49Golly, oh, golly.
02:52David is fired.
02:55He's gone.
02:58Just give me a little minute to.
03:00When David didn't come back, the mood was this really happens.
03:04When they're fired, they don't come back.
03:06It really hit home, and I could get fired.
03:08And I don't want to be in that room.
03:10It's been a long, hard day, my friends.
03:12Oh my goodness, talking about a learning experience.
03:15I'm glad that's over with.
03:17That was pretty intense, huh?
03:19That was really intense.
03:20If the men don't win the next task,
03:23we're all as good as dead,
03:24because Mr. Trump does not give second chances.
03:28He has about this much faith in the male team right now.
03:31If we lose again, like that.
03:34Get ready for tomorrow, boys.
03:37The reality of the situation is that
03:39every single board meeting will eliminate one person,
03:43and that we need to be on top of our game.
03:45And tomorrow, we're gonna have a new task,
03:47and I thought it was very important
03:48that we decide on how we're gonna select
03:50our project manager.
03:52I wanted to select randomly,
03:54so that we could decide fairly
03:57who would be the next project manager.
03:59Let's vote on who we think should be,
04:01because I think we know who the people
04:02in our group at this point are now,
04:03that motivate, that encourage, that put,
04:06I can't wait, can I finish?
04:07Wow, did you see how you get towards me?
04:09Omarosa has a huge issue with power,
04:13and us not accepting her ideas.
04:16With Omarosa, it's either her way, or it's no way.
04:19I made suggestions that I thought would make
04:22our team much more successful,
04:24and it was like, let's shut Omarosa up,
04:27but let's open the discussion for all of the women.
04:29Who wants to be up for nomination?
04:31I nominate Amy.
04:32I nominate her, too.
04:33I nominate Amy.
04:34Amy, Amy, Amy.
04:35Amy.
04:37I will accept this responsibility,
04:40contingent upon one thing.
04:42Both of you guys are about this bickering.
04:44This exchange is always personal.
04:46I'm seriously shaking, and it's always been this way.
04:48Like, I want it, I want it, I want it for you.
04:50You are after me for whatever reason you are.
04:52No, I'm not.
04:53Darling, sweetie pie, you have said so many things,
04:56and you have no idea, you have no idea.
04:59Omarosa loves to stir things up,
05:02and Erica's Italian, she's passionate,
05:05and those two together create fire and water,
05:08and we need to do something to stop that,
05:10or else it's gonna hurt the team big time.
05:23Call the apprentice suite.
05:24We're gonna meet them in one hour at the Deutsch Agency.
05:29Boys, it's your turn to get the phone.
05:34This is Troy.
05:35All right, Mr. Trump will meet us
05:36at the Deutsch Advertising Agency this morning
05:39in one hour.
05:40This is a big day.
05:41This is round two in a 13-round fight.
05:44We could all raise our hands
05:45and say we're all the captains right now.
05:47One thing is, I know everybody.
05:48I'm not saying I need to be the captain,
05:50but I know if it's an advertising-related.
05:52You did?
05:53Then you should be the captain.
05:55You wanna do it?
05:55Yeah.
05:57I used to work in the advertising agency,
05:59so, I mean, if that's what we have to do,
06:02then I guess I gotta step up to the plate
06:04and, you know, take charge.
06:06Let's go.
06:31Hello, folks.
06:32How are we going?
06:33Are you all set?
06:34There he is.
06:35What's going on, Donald? Good to see you, buddy.
06:37Good seeing you.
06:37This is Donnie Deutsch of the Deutsch Agency.
06:40He's the best there is.
06:41You guys ready to work?
06:42You guys ready to really work and learn a little bit about advertising?
06:44Yeah, we're ready.
06:45Come on, let's go.
06:45Let's go, Don.
06:46Let's do it.
06:47Okay.
06:49Oh, man.
06:50Good to see you.
06:50This is some place, huh?
06:51Yeah.
06:52This is a really free, open place.
06:54I mean, you see the whole layout.
06:55It's just, everything is open, everything is kind of loose.
06:59So, you know, these guys are going to have access to all this today.
07:01It's going to be fun.
07:02Okay, Don.
07:03Okay, sir, let's go.
07:06Go ahead, sit down.
07:08Just pick a seat and sit down, everybody.
07:10All right.
07:11This is week two of your 13-week job interview.
07:14Now, advertising is an amazing thing.
07:17It's a powerful, powerful tool, weapon, and there's nothing like Madison Avenue.
07:22Last time you worked on lemonade.
07:24That's the basics.
07:25That's about as basic as it gets.
07:27This time, you're going to be working on corporate jets.
07:30You're going to be developing a campaign for a marquee jet card.
07:34The winning team is going to be flown by private jet tomorrow night to Boston,
07:41from New York, for dinner.
07:44And as always, the losing team will face me in the boardroom,
07:48where the second person will be fired.
07:50Good luck.
07:51Good to see you, man.
07:52We're going to work them hard, all right?
07:53Good luck, folks.
07:55All right, guys.
07:57As Donald said, you are selling the marquee jet card.
08:00Basically, what this is, is somebody can buy private jet by the hour.
08:04Now, the advertising assignment is basically, at the minimum,
08:08we're going to ask you to create a 30-second TV commercial and a magazine ad.
08:12At Deutsch, you're going to have access to all of our creative resources,
08:15photographers, editors, illustrators, everything you could need to put
08:19anything on paper, to film anything, so at the end of the day,
08:22you can come out with any piece of communication,
08:24to communicate what Marquee Jet is.
08:27Some other things.
08:28This is about big ideas.
08:29Don't be afraid to do it out of the box.
08:31Don't just do, oh, this is what an ad is going to look like.
08:33The greatest advertising does it differently.
08:35The thing I like to say to my people before I get in is,
08:38one, swing for the fences, and failure is not an option.
08:44Just say to yourself, I'm winning this.
08:46Failure is not an option.
08:54Making deals can be tough.
08:56I learned at a young age that you have to deal with the boss.
08:59It's very simple.
09:00Deal with the boss wherever possible.
09:17We got challenged to produce a print ad,
09:21a commercial, a proposal,
09:24and a media plan for Marquee Jet in 48 hours,
09:27so it was kind of scary.
09:29I'm going to go call Marquee Jet and schedule a meeting.
09:33Mr. Austin, hi, this is Amelia Henry,
09:35and I am working on your advertising campaign at Deutsch.
09:39How are you?
09:40The value of actually meeting the people behind Marquee Jet is priceless,
09:44and it's going to make us much more effective
09:48at translating that message and that vision into reality.
09:52Thank you. Bye-bye.
09:55Okay, guys, so we have an appointment today
09:57with the CEO and the Senior Vice President of Marketing at 12.30.
10:01Here's what I would recommend.
10:02We said two, maybe three up there.
10:04You guys continue brainstorming.
10:06I want to go with you all because I want to develop that.
10:08I want to make sure that I provide that research background.
10:11I would like to recommend, since we've got a local from New York,
10:14that you go.
10:15And I also think, for the productivity of our group,
10:17that MROC should stay here.
10:19Because I think that it would be good for all of us,
10:21just since there's some tension.
10:23Believe me, I thought that was probably
10:25the most ineffective decision that Amy could have made.
10:29She left her team without a timeline or a plan of action.
10:33Very happy about this. I feel so good about this.
10:36I really want to fly to Boston on the corporate jet.
10:38The other women who were sitting around waiting as well
10:40thought, okay, we might as well get out of here, too.
10:43We had no idea what to do, so all we knew was
10:45we better get to the airport with the camera crew.
10:53So you know what? What we should do is this.
10:55I'll have to be the floater. I'll go from back and forth, okay?
10:58I think Nick, I think Bill need to do creative, okay?
11:02I think you guys should come up with, okay,
11:04here's how we're going to do it. That's it.
11:06Come up with your print ads. Talk to me.
11:08You need to talk to me. You're thinking corporate.
11:10You're thinking young and sleek. Come in the middle.
11:13These two gentlemen are our clients.
11:15We should really find out what they want to have accomplished.
11:18Who are the clients?
11:20William J. Allard and Ken Austin.
11:22They are the ones that have employed us
11:24to do their marketing campaign.
11:26We should find out what they want to have done.
11:28Honestly, do I think we need to meet him?
11:30I don't think we need to meet with him.
11:32What are we seeing him for?
11:34I always think that you should know which festival.
11:37What do you hope to gain from the meeting?
11:39What questions would you ask him?
11:41This is what we're going to do, and this is what's going to be done.
11:43We're doing it right now, okay?
11:45We don't have time to go and meet with him.
11:47I mean, it's going to take a half hour, hour.
11:49I think it's a waste of time.
11:51Jason said it would be a waste of time.
11:53If you're marketing for a client,
11:55how do you know what to market unless you talk to the client?
11:57Strategically, we needed to get guys out on the shoot.
11:59At that point, I just said, go now.
12:01No, no, you guys go. We'll just go. We're fine.
12:03So we had four guys going out to the hangar.
12:05Nick, Bowie, Bill, and Kwame
12:07to do the photo shoot.
12:09Sammy, myself, and Troy
12:11were back at the home base.
12:13Who could I have sent to go to Marquee Jet?
12:31Ladies, I'd like to introduce you to Bill Allen, our CEO.
12:33Hi, how are you?
12:35Hey, Eric, how are you doing?
12:38Welcome.
12:40One of the reasons why you've been put on the Marquee case
12:42is to wow us.
12:44I was very pleased with the meeting.
12:46I think they thought we were very well prepared
12:48with the right questions to ask.
12:50And I think they feel very confident
12:52that we can deliver.
13:04Hello? Chrissy?
13:06Hi, guys. Hold on one second.
13:08Hey, what's going on?
13:10We made sure that Tammy very thoroughly
13:12understood that which we were able
13:14to capture from the execs at Marquee Jet.
13:16Okay, hey, that sounds great.
13:18We're gonna talk to you later. We gotta run now.
13:20Okay, bye.
13:22My design idea is something that's very risky.
13:24I wanted to show a phallic symbol
13:26because it's a plane, and if you buy the Marquee card,
13:28you're gonna go up.
13:30You're gonna go way up.
13:36I know.
13:38That's what it's gonna be.
13:40It's gonna be bad.
13:42It's gonna be so bad
13:44that they're gonna love it.
13:46Because who would have the gall
13:48to bring something like this back to the table?
13:50Pretty close.
13:52Okay.
13:54Tammy decided to build
13:56an entire print ad
13:58based on this phallic symbol,
14:00which I think is probably
14:02the most disgusting approach
14:04to such a quality
14:06and luxury type of service.
14:08It may offend
14:10the head of this ad agency,
14:12and it more importantly may offend our client.
14:14We're not here doing a song and dance.
14:16We're here about serious business.
14:18No, no, entertain Donnie Deutsch with our work.
14:20I think you need to be serious business.
14:22He didn't seem like he wanted to have a song and dance.
14:24We'll mix serious with funky.
14:26There's no in-between on this advertising campaign.
14:28Donnie Deutsch, he's gonna either love it
14:30or he's either gonna hate it.
14:34I'm gonna give you an image
14:36that we've been talking about here.
14:38You need to close your eyes and get this image.
14:40You know, the guy who owns NetJets,
14:42Warren Buffett, who owns NetJets,
14:44he lives in Omaha, Nebraska.
14:46He's the second wealthiest man in America.
14:48Sam, I know this.
14:50Right, right, right, right.
14:52Sam, Sam.
14:54Give me the cliff-nose version, man.
14:56We're running against the clock.
14:58Yeah.
15:00Okay.
15:03Yeah, I'm here.
15:05Okay, do me a favor.
15:07Everybody's got a different style.
15:09No, I know, but Sam, please, concentrate on this.
15:11I need this computer later.
15:13We kept trying to get attention,
15:15and I didn't have time for it.
15:17So there was a lot of times I just said,
15:19shut up and go back to the task I assigned you.
15:21No, just keep doing this, keep doing this.
15:23Please, please, man, I'm trying to get this guy
15:25to do this for me.
15:27We're leading them in different directions.
15:29Jason does not motivate, and that gets on my nerves.
15:31No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
15:33And he was a project manager, had an opportunity to motivate,
15:35had an opportunity to cheer us on,
15:37happened to be our cheerleader.
15:39Mr. Trump's been our cheerleader.
15:41Donnie's been our cheerleader.
15:43Jason hasn't been our cheerleader.
15:45We're here now.
15:47We'll call you and give you an update
15:49in about a half an hour or so.
15:51All right, take care.
15:53All right.
15:55You ask Sam what time it is,
15:57he tells you how to build a clock.
15:59And then the plane,
16:01and then the car just pulling up like that,
16:03hands the guy the card,
16:05there's a briefcase, gets right on.
16:07That's brilliant.
16:09Excellent.
16:11That is a phenomenal idea.
16:13So let's get these shots in, all right?
16:19This shows power.
16:21Today was an example of good teamwork.
16:23We simultaneously did the print photos
16:25that we needed and the commercial.
16:29I wanted to get the message across
16:31that it was a net jet, a marquee card,
16:33amazing fleet that they have,
16:35and it was very safe and convenient.
16:37And I think we're really delivering our message
16:39to a T in a tactful, classy way.
16:45Victory.
16:47Victory for the men.
16:49I'm looking forward to riding on this plane tomorrow night
16:51and going to Boston.
16:59Oh!
17:07Tammy's testicle ad
17:09may compromise our ability
17:11to win this task.
17:13I have to say, Omarosa,
17:15this is sexy.
17:17I think these look like legs
17:19and you figure out what the middle is.
17:21I decided that we were going to stay with a message
17:23that Tammy had defined,
17:25which was more kind of the
17:28and shock with a little bit of sexuality.
17:30And I decided to make that consistent
17:32through our campaign.
17:34I think it works.
17:36I know that Mr. Trump
17:38is looking at everything that we do,
17:40that Carolyn and George are looking over our shoulder.
17:42This is the testicle ad.
17:44This is the testosterone rumen ad.
17:46I have a pretty good read on the fact that they are not blazing.
17:48I can just read that in their faces.
17:50Change the location of the marquee
17:52and the credit card.
17:54That's what I would do.
17:56I've been working together with everybody
17:58the last couple of days.
18:00Sam was the biggest problem
18:02and I assigned him small tasks.
18:04Oh, I downloaded it twice.
18:06We can use them, though.
18:08Tell me where, because right now
18:10I'll just do what you think.
18:12Put the card down there.
18:14Start with 1, 2.
18:16Enlarge that.
18:18Go into that one.
18:20I've already got it.
18:22It's right here.
18:26That's what I do in real life.
18:28I've got to stick to a principle.
18:30My principle is if somebody is late on their rent,
18:32then I have to get them out.
18:34If this was the real world,
18:36I would have fired Sam the minute he fell asleep.
18:38I don't want somebody like that on my team.
18:50Ten minutes, ladies.
18:52Ten minutes.
18:54Ten minutes.
18:56Get excited.
18:58The team has made a decision
19:00that it's more than just a product
19:02that sells the deal.
19:04It's the full experience.
19:06We plan to wear flight attendant suits
19:08and to create that full experience
19:10from the time we walk into the door.
19:14Hey, guys.
19:16First, let me introduce the folks
19:18on either side of me.
19:20To my right is Linda Sawyer,
19:23to my left is Peter Gardner,
19:25media director.
19:27We've got two serious pros here.
19:29We decided to employ a campaign
19:31that incorporated a marketing mix
19:33with magazine, newspaper.
19:35In addition to that,
19:37we decided to do direct mail.
19:39The only thing about that is
19:41research will tell you that direct mail,
19:43people do toss it.
19:45That's why we used the artistic approach.
19:47It's going to capture their eye
19:49and not want them to toss it.
19:51Let me show you our direct mail campaign.
19:53Look at this piece of artwork.
19:55Would you toss that?
19:57I'm not going to say what I think of that.
19:59I don't know what you want me to think of it,
20:01but I'm kind of thinking it.
20:03Again, very simple, very elegant,
20:05very sassy, and strategic.
20:09We can utilize these in newspapers.
20:11This is our newspaper ad.
20:13Now we're going to toss to Heidi,
20:15who's going to talk with you
20:17about our broadcast strategies.
20:19I like the lean.
20:21That's like up there with damn good.
20:25Our commercial, it's simple,
20:27but you know what?
20:29Here's the thing.
20:31We're going to leave the client wanting more.
20:33We use ourselves.
20:35You can have the greatest presentation,
20:37but if you can't present it well,
20:39it's worthless.
20:42No, you've got to wait
20:44for the client to applaud.
20:46With that, what we've really focused on today,
20:48sex appeal,
20:50and I think we saw it on your face,
20:52a little bit of shock value.
20:54All right, guys.
20:56You've set the women's movement back
20:58about 70 years, right?
21:00We'll see you in a little while, all right?
21:04What if we did this?
21:06It doesn't matter.
21:08Just set it up.
21:10Let it up.
21:14Right before the presentation,
21:16people running around like chickens
21:18with their heads cut off.
21:20It was frenzy.
21:22Jason wanted me to go up there
21:24and give him some feedback.
21:26You can walk around,
21:28but I've always found
21:30that if you ground the energy
21:32and you present like this and this,
21:34I am the Zen master of presentations.
21:36This is what I do day in and day out.
21:38Marquis Jets,
21:40redefining first class.
21:42Close it again.
21:52Marquis Jets,
21:54redefining first class.
21:56This will be one of our main print ads.
21:58Emphasis on the Marquis card.
22:00Emphasis on the executive business traveler.
22:02There's no question.
22:04I saw it in his eyes.
22:06Our objective in this campaign
22:08is to inspire motivation
22:10and expand consumer awareness
22:12through a targeted advertising campaign.
22:14Our campaign stuck to its guns
22:16from beginning to the end.
22:18I thought it was the right campaign for the client.
22:20When my husband's traveling for business,
22:22I no longer have to worry.
22:24Knowing that he's flying with the Marquis Jet card,
22:26it's the only card that allows him
22:28access to the NetJets world-class fleet of aircraft.
22:30The NetJets fleet
22:32doesn't get any better than this.
22:36I hope you enjoyed your flight.
22:38I'd like to present you with a parting gift.
22:40Please consider a first class cigar.
22:42Ah, the tchotchkes.
22:44Pass one to your colleagues and friends.
22:46Great. Good job, guys.
22:48Thanks, guys.
22:50First of all, I thought
22:52they both were pretty good,
22:54but what's staggering is
22:56how different.
22:58I think the first group, the women's group,
23:00they were definitely a little bit sharper,
23:02more insightful in the way they spoke about the work.
23:05The male group, I think, was a little bit generic.
23:07And if I'm hiring people,
23:09I think I'd go with the women's group.
23:11I think the men had a little more stake
23:13and the women had a little more sizzle.
23:15And I think if you're going to pick who landed on
23:17the best business solution, I think the men.
23:19It's really, you know, honestly, I'm really torn.
23:21It's really interesting.
23:23Um, I think I know
23:25what the recommendation that I'm going to make,
23:27so let's get the big guy on the phone.
23:29Bring him in. Let's go.
23:31We're ready. Everybody get comfortable.
23:33Okay, guys. Action time.
23:35Let's get Donald on the phone, all right?
23:37Donald?
23:39Hey, Johnny.
23:41Hey, man.
23:43I gotta tell you, I was really, really, really split.
23:45Guys, a lot of effort went into that,
23:47but I missed that big idea.
23:49I liked that one thing to take away
23:51that really would have wowed me.
23:53You guys, I question the idea, frankly,
23:55but I applaud the bigness of the thinking.
23:57I like that swinging for the fences.
23:59I like that excitement.
24:01When you're buying an ad agency,
24:03you're buying people.
24:05Right.
24:11We're going to go with the way...
24:21For the women, as a reward tonight,
24:23the women are going to hop on a jet.
24:25You're going up to Boston to a great restaurant.
24:27You're going to have dinner.
24:30The men, unfortunately, also did well,
24:32but they lost.
24:34There won't be any dinner.
24:36There won't be any private jet.
24:38And I'm going to see you in the boardroom
24:40and I'm going to fire somebody.
24:44One, one, two, three.
24:46Boston!
24:52Oh, my freaking God.
24:54Guys, guys.
24:58Ladies, you must toast.
25:00To us and this incredible experience
25:02we're all going through together.
25:08I've never been more excited
25:10because I think we came from this
25:12distress and dysfunction
25:14and disorganization to triumph.
25:24Oh, my God.
25:31Congratulations.
25:41What do you think the men are thinking right now?
25:43Trying so hard and still losing.
25:45Jason, who do you think Mr. Trump's
25:47going to fire tomorrow?
25:49Sam, shut up for a second.
25:51He has the right to not answer.
25:53I'm just saying.
25:55I'm asking you. Give me a name.
25:57Sam, can I finish?
25:59I'm telling you I'm not going to answer you
26:01and no matter what you say to me, I'm not going to answer.
26:03There's an all guarantee to you.
26:05Somebody's getting fired tomorrow.
26:07That's a guarantee.
26:10When I got off the jet,
26:12I thought I better start thinking
26:14this is my jet.
26:16It was a taste
26:18of the Trump lifestyle
26:20and it was a teaching tool
26:22of you have to want those things
26:24and aspire to those things
26:26if you want to be like Trump.
26:28You're so hungry.
26:30You came to the right place.
26:32Everything is delicious.
26:59Tammy!
27:01What are you doing?
27:03Girls come home and the place is burned down.
27:13You're welcome.
27:15Cheers!
27:17To our next business venture.
27:20One, two, three.
27:26It's about 3 or 4 in the morning
27:28and we have been up since 6 in the morning
27:30and a splitting headache.
27:32We're exhausted.
27:34I just bleed it and you guys just keep it down.
27:36Please.
27:38There'll be times when you'll want
27:40some quiet time.
27:42And they decided to get louder.
27:44They've just collectively decided,
27:46hey, you know, let's disregard what she says.
27:49It's better than shaved chest.
27:57The girls were talking and chatting
27:59and I passed out.
28:01They woke me up and they were piling out of the limo
28:03and Omarosa was still sleeping
28:05and I think someone had tapped her bin like,
28:07get up, and she started going nuts.
28:09Stay out of my face.
28:11I didn't say anything though.
28:13For you to say that and she required me to say something,
28:15I was passed out falling asleep.
28:18When I'm attacked like that,
28:20I don't have anything else to do but to go back at her.
28:22Now I'm done. You threatened me.
28:24It's over.
28:26I tried so hard today.
28:28Stay out of your way because of the team.
28:30Not because I'm scared of you. Know that now.
28:32I know you're scared.
28:34Being a bitch is going to be your problem.
28:36You have to live with that for the rest of your life.
28:38I called her a baby.
28:40I told her to go in a corner and get her a pacifier
28:42and her blanket and go cry, which is what she always does.
28:44I am not talking to you.
28:46I don't give a shit.
28:48You're emotionally unstable.
28:50That is like calling the kettle black.
28:52See, there you go with your racist terms.
28:54What was that you said about black people?
28:56Nothing.
28:58No, I didn't say anything about black.
29:00I'm talking about you.
29:02Try to contain your prejudice, okay?
29:04You're very intimidated by black women, right?
29:06I don't think that they've ever been around
29:08a strong African-American woman, to be quite frank.
29:10I'm going to fight back.
29:12I'm going to just keep pushing strong
29:14and focusing on the goal.
29:16I was told, you're the outsider, and that was very clear.
29:18Because she has, like, this amazing anger.
29:20Seven out of eight of these girls are phenomenal.
29:22We do not need her.
29:24Which just kind of motivates me to get back on the game.
29:26They're strategizing to get me out,
29:28and I'm strategizing to stay in.
29:31Before we go into the border tonight,
29:33can you give me something that I can really use?
29:36I really don't want to talk about this.
29:38It scares me to think that Donald Trump
29:40could just get a gut feeling and say,
29:42Sammy's got to go.
29:44We got to make rules in the basketball game.
29:46This is a game for the basketball game.
29:48This is a game for the basketball game.
29:50We got to make rules.
29:52I have to be a good basketball player.
29:54I have to be a good basketball player.
29:56and say, Sammy's gotta go.
29:58We gotta make a rule.
29:59In the basketball court, no talking.
30:02Sammy's gonna have cardiac arrest.
30:03That guy's heart's going a mile a minute.
30:05I'm worried about him.
30:06I'm a little bit worried about the guy.
30:10Sam the man, you need to relax.
30:14Sit up for a second.
30:16Close your eyes.
30:18Deep breath in.
30:19Now, think of Sammy in the city
30:21and erase that image.
30:24Now, Sammy's the country kid.
30:26Think about doing a little fishing.
30:28You think about just kicking back.
30:30You got the mountains behind you.
30:32Everything's fine.
30:34Relax.
30:35Be the country kid.
30:36Be the hat.
30:38Thank you, Troy.
30:40You're welcome, bud.
30:44It would not really affect us too much
30:47if Sam got fired.
30:49At this point, I really don't know
30:51who else I would pick
30:52to go in there with me.
30:53It's a really tough decision
30:54because the rest of the guys
30:55really put their necks on the line.
30:57I mean, they really went
30:58above and beyond.
30:59Come back, Sammy.
31:00I can see you're still in the country.
31:02Jason made an executive decision.
31:04We didn't go and talk
31:05to the president of NetJets,
31:07and it costs us
31:08a big time in the past.
31:09It was shameful, really shameful
31:11for us not to tap into that resource.
31:13Donald Trump's gonna call him out on it.
31:17Good luck, guys.
31:21Good luck.
31:48Hello, fellas.
31:49Hello, sir.
31:50Good evening, Mr. Trump.
31:51Well, here we go again.
31:52Jason, what happened?
31:54Well, we put together
31:55a phenomenal package.
31:57Unfortunately,
31:58it wasn't the one that they wanted.
32:00Okay, fellas,
32:01what do you think
32:02of your team leader, Jason?
32:03Jason's a great
32:04second-half quarterback.
32:05I think we're a second-half team.
32:07Go ahead, Nick.
32:08I think Jason performed well,
32:09especially the way we started off.
32:11Midway through,
32:12he took the reins,
32:13he took charge,
32:14made quick decisions
32:15because we had to get things in
32:16under certain timelines,
32:17and I thought he performed well.
32:18His choices were well thought out.
32:19Are you saying that
32:20because you don't want Jason
32:21to pick you as one of the two?
32:22Not one bit.
32:23Not one bit.
32:24I thought his decisions
32:25were real sharp
32:26and well thought out.
32:27Sam, do you think Jason
32:28was good or terrible?
32:31I don't think Jason was good.
32:33I don't think he was terrible.
32:35Are those the only two options?
32:36I'll bet he chooses you
32:37because of that statement
32:38as one of the two.
32:39I am confident
32:40that he will choose me.
32:43But, Kwame,
32:44if you had to choose somebody
32:45that did really a bad job in this,
32:46who do you think you'd choose?
32:47I don't think there is someone
32:48who necessarily led us
32:49down the wrong path.
32:50I think, yes,
32:51we should have talked
32:52to the president.
32:53The original decision
32:54was made by the team leader
32:55not to call
32:56and not to meet.
32:57I think that was
32:58a terrible decision.
32:59That was the team leader's decision.
33:00Okay, I think
33:01that's a terrible decision.
33:02If you had met
33:03with the president face-to-face,
33:04you would have known
33:05he wanted to flash your campaign.
33:06All right, it's time now, Jason.
33:08As project manager,
33:09I'm holding you
33:10partially responsible.
33:11But pick two people
33:12who you think contributed
33:13to your failure as a team.
33:15Who are they?
33:16Okay, I would say
33:17the first one is Sam.
33:19As a team leader,
33:20the only thing
33:21that really insulted me,
33:22someone was asleep on the job.
33:24And that was Sam.
33:25And that was Sam.
33:26Now, pick number two.
33:32Sam was the easy one, guys.
33:36I'd probably pick Nick.
33:37Nick?
33:38Wow, that's surprising.
33:39Okay.
33:40He was very nice to you.
33:41He said you were
33:42a wonderful guy.
33:43He said you did a good job.
33:44I thought that was
33:45very smart of Nick.
33:46Why Nick?
33:47I can honestly tell you
33:48that this is a tough decision,
33:49and whatever decision
33:50after this...
33:51Other than Sam?
33:52Other than Sam.
33:53Now, you could say
33:54that's disloyal.
33:55Nick, do you think
33:56you made a mistake
33:57in defending him?
33:58No, I believe
33:59he did do a good job,
34:00and I'm curious
34:01to know why...
34:02I'm curious, too.
34:03I can't figure that one out.
34:04All right, so you pick Nick,
34:05and you pick Sam.
34:06You four, Bill, Kwame,
34:07Troy, Bowie,
34:08go back up to the suite.
34:09You three, Nick, Jason,
34:11and Sam, go out,
34:12and we'll call you back
34:13when we're ready.
34:14One of you is going
34:15to get fired, as you know.
34:17Thank you, Mr. Trump.
34:20Thank you, George.
34:29What do you think, George?
34:30I'm looking at
34:31the overall goal.
34:32You're looking for somebody
34:33that's going to be
34:34an apprentice
34:35in our organization.
34:36I cannot for the life of me
34:37visualize that Sam
34:38in that type of position.
34:39I think he's going to get
34:40some company in huge trouble,
34:41or he's going to take
34:42some company to a level
34:43that they never knew about.
34:44I agree.
34:45But he is not the reason
34:46that this particular event failed.
34:48This, to me,
34:49is a harder choice
34:50than the first one.
34:51It's your decision.
34:52It is my decision.
34:53Let's bring him in.
34:54Let's see what happens.
34:55Okay.
34:56Robin, let them come in, please.
34:58Okay, Mr. Trump.
35:00Okay, you can go in now.
35:03Excuse me, Mr. Trump.
35:05Can I have a chance
35:06to defend myself?
35:07Yes.
35:08You look angry
35:09walking into the room, actually,
35:10and the answer is yes.
35:11Go ahead.
35:12May I stand up?
35:13Yes.
35:16Mr. Trump,
35:17George, Carolyn,
35:18I've come here to win.
35:19I've come here
35:20to earn the apprenticeship
35:21through performance.
35:22Now, I have no idea
35:23why he chose me.
35:25I have no idea
35:26why he chose me.
35:27I have no idea
35:28why he chose me.
35:29I have no idea
35:30why he chose me.
35:31I have no idea
35:32why he's choosing me
35:33on these grounds specifically.
35:36At the end of the day,
35:37I was asked to critique
35:38the performance
35:39of the overall presentation.
35:41If you ask Kwame,
35:42I gave him a crash course
35:43in public speaking.
35:44Is that true?
35:46Yes.
35:47Yes, it is true.
35:48Then, with that being said,
35:50if I'm not capable
35:51of having the apprenticeship,
35:53why are you asking me
35:54to do these responsible things?
35:57I would just like it
35:58for it to be backed up.
36:00Go ahead.
36:01I had to make a decision.
36:03Why?
36:04Why is it me?
36:06Because it has to be somebody.
36:07So, Nick,
36:08you're very angry at Jason.
36:09I guess the biggest problem
36:10I have with you picking Nick
36:11is he was the one guy
36:12that really defended you.
36:14So, there's a little
36:15disloyalty there,
36:16but, I mean,
36:17that's the way life is.
36:18Nick, you're going to
36:19get used to that.
36:20Life is mean.
36:21Absolutely.
36:22I have to be honest with you.
36:23You might as well sit down
36:24because you're not going
36:25to be thrown out anyway, okay?
36:27I was a little surprised
36:28you were picked,
36:29but you're not going
36:30to be thrown out, okay?
36:32Thank you very much.
36:33So, now we're down to these two.
36:34Go ahead, Sam, say.
36:35Jason's making a lot of mistakes.
36:36He's showing a high capacity
36:37for making mistakes.
36:38Don't you think
36:39he did make the mistake
36:40of not meeting
36:41with the president?
36:42Absolutely.
36:43Well, Sam,
36:44didn't you sleep
36:45through most of this?
36:46No, I did not sleep.
36:47He was curled up
36:48on the side of the floor.
36:49He constantly
36:50was complaining
36:51about the situation.
36:52In the fetal position.
36:53In the fetal position.
36:54This is good, man.
36:55In the fetal position.
36:56This is good.
36:57And what you're asking...
36:58Sam, Nick,
36:59don't say anything.
37:00You're not going to be chosen.
37:02Don't blow it.
37:03Sit there.
37:04Be good.
37:05You look like
37:06a West Point cadet.
37:07If you say something,
37:08who knows?
37:09But these two
37:10are fighting for their life.
37:11Okay, go ahead.
37:12I don't think
37:13I'm fighting for my life here,
37:14Mr. Trump.
37:15I think you're fighting
37:16for your life.
37:17Okay, you know what?
37:18I think you should be
37:19fighting for your life.
37:20In many respects,
37:21you've been a disaster, Sam.
37:22Jason.
37:23Sam, when I asked you
37:24to get something done,
37:25you couldn't get it done.
37:26And I gave you
37:27one job the whole day
37:28and you fell asleep
37:29doing it.
37:30You fell asleep
37:31doing it.
37:32And nobody else was here
37:33besides...
37:34Nick was not there.
37:35It was Troy and you
37:36and you fell asleep
37:37doing that job.
37:38And I'm not trying
37:39to attack you, Sam,
37:40but when you say
37:41that I'm a bad leader,
37:42if I have another opportunity
37:43to become a leader
37:44and it's a little bit earlier
37:45than when we're crunched
37:46for time,
37:47I would have taken this home,
37:48no doubt in my mind.
37:49And I'm not saying
37:50it was just that,
37:51but you're focusing
37:52on the fact
37:53that I didn't meet
37:54with the president personally.
37:55That's a big fact.
37:56That's a big fact.
37:57It is.
37:58It is, Mr. Trump.
37:59You've just learned
38:00a big lesson.
38:01I did.
38:02I did learn a lesson.
38:03Now, I have to say,
38:04Sam, you're sort
38:05of a disaster.
38:06I don't know
38:07what's going on.
38:08And don't take offense.
38:09I don't take offense.
38:10Don't take offense.
38:11But, I mean,
38:12everyone hates you.
38:13Everyone...
38:14I don't think they hate me.
38:15Yeah, pretty close.
38:16Okay, okay.
38:17Some hate.
38:18Some hate.
38:19So far, you've gotten
38:20no respect from anybody.
38:21Would you say
38:22that's a correct statement,
38:23Nick?
38:24I'd say that's correct.
38:25Pretty close, right?
38:26Good.
38:27See how quiet he is now?
38:28He's very happy.
38:29And he's a role model
38:30for me, Mr. Trump.
38:31Look, he's a great guy.
38:32Mm-hmm.
38:33And I happen to think
38:34he's a great guy.
38:35You, I haven't figured out yet.
38:36The problem is, Jason,
38:37that you made the mistake
38:38of not meeting
38:39with the president,
38:40and you made a mistake.
38:41Mr. Trump, I'm sorry
38:42to interrupt you.
38:43Jason, Jason,
38:44this is a tough one.
38:45You're fired.

39:01all three of you.

39:23Take care.
39:26Jason is a spectacular
39:27young man who I think
39:28is going to be
39:29tremendously successful
39:30who didn't deal
39:31with the boss,
39:32and that's why
39:33he was fired.
39:34I got to tell you,
39:35that was a tough one.
39:36I agree.
39:37It's tough,
39:38because you know what?
39:39It's going to get
39:40a lot tougher.
39:41It will.

40:32And while the men
40:33are winless,
40:34guess who's taking the blame.
40:35Sam's crazy.
40:36He's half nuts.
40:37And Wednesday,
40:38Sam will have to
40:39lead his team into battle.
40:40You think they maybe
40:41made you the team leader, too?
40:42To find out who's best
40:44at the art of negotiation.
40:46Michael!
40:47Oh, my God.
40:48And of course,
40:49someone will hear
40:50those two dreaded words.
