00:19bilateral meetings with the country's leaders, they had agreed to enhance cooperation in
00:24higher education through University Technical Mara and the Ministry of Higher Education,
00:29Science and Culture of Timor-Leste.
00:32He said the university will award 50 scholarships to Timor-Leste students, enabling them to
00:37study in Malaysia.
00:39He said the university will also serve as the key technology provider for new polytechnics
00:44being established in Timor-Leste, focusing on digital marketing, food technology and
00:48tourism management.
00:50He said hybrid short courses in leadership, finance, management and entrepreneurship will
00:55be offered by the university to government officials.
00:58Timor-Leste also agreed to send government-sponsored undergraduate students to Malaysia for chemical
01:04engineering, tourism and business administration courses.
01:08Both countries also signed a memorandum of understanding between University Malaysia
01:13Sabah and the National University of Timor-Leste to promote and facilitate academic, research
01:19and training activities.
01:22Ahmad Zahid held meetings with Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos Horta and Prime Minister
01:27K. Rala Zanana Gusmao.
01:30The Malaysian delegation, which also includes representatives from Halal Development Corporation,
01:35also attended a roundtable with halal industry players to stress the potential of the industry
01:41in boosting Timor-Leste's economy.
