Around 2,000 school students were working hard to perfect their moves for the 2024 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Wednesday (Aug 28).

They are among 17,000 participants involved in the parade and performance this Saturday (Aug 31).

00:00These school students have been working hard to perfect their moves for the 2024 National
00:08Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.
00:13They are among 17,000 participants involved in the parade and performance on Saturday.
00:18The students are selected from schools around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
00:46Overall, our training starts from the beginning of July.
00:50Part of it starts from July and the other part starts from August until now.
00:55How many people are there in your group?
00:58In my school group, there are 20 people.
01:01There are around 120 people in each school.
01:07My expectation is we can interact with others since you can see that our
01:14national day we can enjoy a bunch of performance like which is lion dance,
01:23Indian dance, Malay dance and there are traditional instruments.
01:28Visitors can also look forward to performances by 25 uniformed and school bands as well as the Malaysian Armed Forces.
01:35I look forward to the visit of all Malaysians in Lembah Kelang, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor
01:41to celebrate and welcome our Independence Day, Malaysia Madani Jiwa Merdeka.
01:52The theme for this year's National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations is Malaysia Madani Jiwa Merdeka
01:58which symbolizes the integration of Malaysians from various cultures and ethnicities.
02:03The National Day Parade and celebrations will kick off at 7am on Saturday.
