00:00Tuesday headlines around the WNBA.
00:06It was a historic night in Boston.
00:08The first ever WNBA game played inside TD Garden.
00:12It was a sellout crowd more than 19,000 on hand for the Connecticut
00:16Sun hosting the Los Angeles Sparks.
00:18I was trying to find the actual number to see if it did make history
00:23in terms of attendance marks in the WNBA.
00:26I was unable to find that maybe we can hear but there's
00:29only been five games since 2008 that have had more than 19,100
00:36fans in attendance in the W.
00:38So maybe history last night regardless of what we can say as
00:42you see that packed arena TD Garden was the spot to be last
00:46night in the Sun Victoria 69-61.
00:5019,156 third most attended game in the WNBA this season
00:56courtesy of our producer Joe Friso good with the numbers.
01:00They're not so much with this.
01:02We're not going to get into that again, but Connecticut a victory
01:05inside TD Garden Donnie.
01:07We told you yesterday keep an eye on that total in the mid 150s
01:11stayed well under the Sun the best offensive team in the W.
01:15It's always an interesting Outlook too because we knew the Sun were
01:18a much much better team than the Sparks and the Sparks really
01:21look to probably just getting beaten around like a pinata the
01:23rest of the season.
01:24But you see that final score 69-61.
01:26They kept it close and covered that number but you say to yourself
01:29was that more of we're playing in a different atmosphere as opposed
01:33to what we're used to we're not in our home arena.
01:35We're going on the road.
01:35It's a big environment and maybe they don't play just as well as
01:38they should have because you see that third quarter been 12 to 11.
01:41That is a really low scoring quarter by any means here in the WNBA,
01:45but still if you're looking for the Sun 20th win on the season,
01:48they got the victor.
01:49That's what's expected.
01:50He played in front of a big crowd and the WNBA continues to draw
01:53eyeballs.
01:54That's a good thing for the league.
01:56Yeah, there was a little bit of promise the RS for the Sparks.
01:59Of course, Cam Brink was the second overall pick Rekia Jackson
02:02out of Tennessee also drafted early by the Sparks.
02:05I believe fourth overall, of course, Cam Brink out for the year
02:09with a torn ACL.
02:10They started off four and seven a young team earning their lumps.
02:14They have lost 15 of their last 17 D.
02:17Janae Carrington leading scorer for Connecticut 19 points.
02:20She was critical and rightfully.
02:22So of the WNBA's lack of promotion for a historic night inside
02:27TD Garden.
02:28She showed out for the crowd in Beantown the New York Liberty
02:32continue to stack up the wins 24 and for now the record for New
02:36York best mark in the WNBA.
02:39They've won seven straight games all three since returning from
02:42the Olympic break hammering last night.
02:45The Dallas Wings at home by 2094 74 covering even as a 13 and a
02:50half point favorite.
02:52Yeah, we thought we might get some blowouts yesterday because
02:53we had some high lines and the Liberty certainly were in line
02:56for one of those also thought the Sun were probably in line
02:58for a blowout victory.
02:59But again Liberty playing on their home court the Sun not maybe
03:01that made a difference 94 to 74.
03:04Are they the best team now in the WNBA the oddsmakers starting
03:07to turn that corner from looking at her aces now over to the
03:10Liberty 24 and 4 on the season.
03:12It's pretty good ball club there.
03:14Two teams in the W have won at least 20 games Connecticut with
03:17the win last night, New York.
03:19The most they have 24 and the Seattle Storm who got a win
03:23yesterday on the road in DC against the Mystics add Gabby
03:27Williams.
03:28If you remember Gabby Williams, even from recently in the
03:31Olympic Games.
03:32She was the star for France.
03:33She made the long jumper with her foot on the line in the
03:37gold medal game against the Americans as time expired last
03:41played in the W for Seattle last year.
03:44She has been resigned by the storm the storm 18 and 10 5th
03:49best record 4th best record the two-time reigning WNBA title
03:53winners the Las Vegas Aces.
03:55They are 17 and 9 and the Minnesota Lynx have the third
03:59best record in the WNBA 19 wins for Minnesota a matchup tonight
04:04in Sin City.
04:05The ace is a six-point home favorite the over under 167 and
04:09a half Las Vegas has been home for its first three games since
04:13the Olympic break.
04:14They lost to New York on Saturday turned around on Sunday
04:18for a win over the Sparks.
04:19What do we expect tonight in a difficult place to get a win
04:22Michelob Ultra Arena?
04:24Yeah, it seems to take a look at the FanDuel New Jersey opening
04:27number somewhere around two and a half.
04:29Maybe one of those blank ones that just gets recorded there.
04:31But as high as six now as we're showing you at the FanDuel
04:33Sports, we've got a total of 167 and a half.
04:36I think the Aces are better than what they showed obviously
04:38against New York.
04:39So if we're looking at the Lynx home court or excuse me looking
04:42at the home court advantage versus the Lynx, I think they get
04:44the job done tonight.
04:45I think they can win this game by close to double digits.
04:48Asia Wilson to record a double-double.
04:50It's minus 330.
04:51Nafisa Collier for Minnesota is minus 130.
04:55She is back now for the Lynx, of course, was a member of the
04:58gold-winning team for the United States over in Paris.
05:02The Aces 17-9.
05:04The defense has not been great this year.
05:06Second best price to win the WNBA championship at plus 190.
05:11The gap is starting to widen.
05:12New York in front.
05:14They are the favorites.
05:15Vegas second best number.
