00:00I've just been down onto the streets of Manchester talking to people about school uniform
00:03and that's because with the summer nearly over, parents and families are now spending close to hundreds of pounds
00:08on blazers, t-shirts, trousers, all of which might need a specific branding or logo on them.
00:12I think there's a massive lack of self-expression as well.
00:15I feel like obviously the school uniform can be fine, but I feel like there could be choices of colour
00:19or maybe like piercings or hair dyeing, like in my school you cannot do that.
00:23Down at centre school say, hey don't come in hot pants or tank tops.
00:28Some guidelines, but really rules, not really a big fan of it.
00:32Parents that buy the kids a Manchester United top, people say well that's very expensive
00:38but they get a lot of wear out of it and it's the same with school wear as well.
00:44We think that uniform is part of that, so that everyone is at a similar level playing field
00:51because I think if there were no uniforms then it is just opening it up to people from different backgrounds
00:57and not having the same money.
