00:00What are your thoughts on Roma and pre-season and just what the last week has been like?
00:11Roma game was a challenge. To be honest with you, it was a game put in at the last minute.
00:19I thought it was an opportunity to get some minutes into some of my senior players, certainly
00:24Donovan Pines as well, was massive to get 45 minutes into it. We knew it was going to be a tough ask.
00:30They'd been let down by a team and I thought it was a good opportunity to go there and learn.
00:35Hard session, hard game as you can imagine and a real good early curve for our young players at the Football Club
00:42to understand what elite looks like. They were a formidable team, what a good workout.
00:49I suppose the players can only benefit from an experience like that irrespective of the result?
00:54I always look at it and one of the biggest frustrations for me is sometimes the players are watching the top-level footballers
01:01as they are to Roma and when they make silly comments like he's not very good and then you come up against them
01:06and they're world-class. That's why I look at them as those levels and the target is for players to try and achieve those levels
01:14and it should be an appetite for them to try and grow and try and be a top player.
