00:00I heard that this is your first movie. What has this experience been like for you?
00:03It's been unreal. I mean, it's been everything I would want and more.
00:06It's been a dream. I actually have nothing bad to say about it, truly.
00:10Yeah, and I know, of course, you get to play a teenage
00:13Blake Lively. What was that like, and what conversations did the two of you have
00:18in order to maybe get the character or the mannerisms right? Because
00:21I know everyone's been talking about how much you guys look alike, but also you
00:25guys sound alike, too, which is insane.
00:27Yeah, we really talked a couple times about it, and just kind of realized that
00:31it was such a pure stroke of luck that we
00:33do have such similar qualities about each other. We always joke, we're like,
00:37somebody's dad did my dad. We're the genes. We need to see a
00:4123andMe test or something, because it is truly crazy how similar we are, and
00:45I would have never guessed it, yeah.
00:47Was there anything that you worked on in terms of character together, or you
00:51kind of kept it pretty separate? I mean, she was so incredible with me. She gave me
00:54such a huge amount of agency with the character, and sharing this
00:58character with me was such a blessing that she gave me. We really just
01:02mainly talked about what her core values are, you know? Like, who is Lily?
01:06But when it came to mannerisms and things, I think we just kind of held it.
01:10Yeah, exactly. Amazing. Of course, we know that this movie deals with a lot of,
01:15and this book, too, deals with a lot of heavy topics. What was the most
01:18challenging scene for you to work through yourself? I mean, I wouldn't even
01:23say challenging, but the first scene that we did was the garden scene, and we
01:27jumped right into it, and you know, it's a really vulnerable scene, but that
01:31wasn't even challenging, because we were surrounded by such wonderful people.
01:34And my co-star, Alex, who's over there, he was such a safe space to just, like,
01:39be with, and we worked together so well that, like, even the really hard parts,
01:43like, felt safe. Yeah. And of course, speaking of the young Atlas, I know you
01:49and Alex have such a strong bond on screen. Did you do anything off-screen or
01:53any sort of bonding exercises as a cast to sort of build that chemistry? We kind
01:58of just, like, hung out. We would, like, grab dinner after set. We'd talk about it. We'd be,
02:01like, how'd you feel? What was that? We did go to Six Flags, actually, one day on
02:05our weekend break, and it was monsooning, similarly to this, but it wasn't
02:09happening before, and then lightning was striking, and it was a very scary
02:12experience, but it's good to see people afraid. It makes you closer, you know? It
02:15was, yeah, it was a funny time, yeah. Finally, I wanted to ask, obviously, such a huge fan
02:20base for this book. What is another Colleen Hoover book that you would want
02:23to see made into an on-screen adaptation? It starts with us. Do we know? Is there
02:30any tea? I have no idea, but if it happens, let me know. Yeah.
