00:19It was a couple of years ago, and I got a text from Ryan.
00:21He just said,
00:22Listen, if you don't like this idea, no worries whatsoever.
00:25But I have something that could really bring the house down
00:27and would let you play a character from your past.
00:30Though Evans is more recognized for his role as Steve Rogers slash Captain America in the MCU,
00:36fans were shocked to see the Avengers actor suited up as Johnny Storm in the film instead,
00:40the role in which he first debuted as a superhero in 2005's Fantastic Four.
00:46He also starred in 2007's Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.
00:50The star continued,
00:51I mean, honestly, I would do anything Ryan asked.
00:54He gave me a great cameo in Free Guy already,
00:56and I just trust him completely.
00:58So the chance to be Johnny again, I couldn't pass up.
01:00I loved it.
01:01It was fun to shoot, fun to watch, all of it.
01:03The actor also scored a second appearance in the Sean Levy-directed movie After the Credits,
01:08which saw Evans giving an expletive-filled monologue.
01:11Ahead of filming the Deadpool and Wolverine scene,
01:13he said Reynolds actually offered him some additional help, but he declined.
01:18Ryan was like,
01:18Listen, if we need cue cards, and I was like,
01:20Cue cards? I'm showing up off book.
01:22I don't get to say dialogue like this.
01:24Trust me, I'm going to enjoy every second of this, memorized.
