00:00I didn't need the West End after all, just a captive audience.
00:07Welcome to Ms Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times movie
00:12villains won us over in spite of our better judgment.
00:15Where do you want me to put it?
00:17Anywhere not in your pocket.
00:18What, are we going to mix things with the others and become majesticoing?
00:22Number 10, Vassini's final rant, The Princess Bride.
00:28We'll think again before making one of the classic blunders.
00:31As the scheming Sicilian in this fairy tale, Vassini talks up a big game until he's confronted
00:37by Wesley.
00:38The hero challenges his counterpart to a battle of wit, setting up the antagonist for some
00:43fun banter.
00:44A clever man would put the poison into his own goblet because he would know that only
00:48a great fool would reach for what he was given.
00:50I'm not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you.
00:53Wallace, Sean's delivery sells the scene.
00:56You can't help but laugh at his circuitous reasoning.
00:59His final rant captures him at his funniest, with all the energy that he can muster before
01:04falling over dead.
01:05You're trying to trick me into giving away something.
01:07It won't work.
01:08It has worked!
01:09You've given everything away!
01:10I know where the poison is!
01:12Then make your choice.
01:13I will!
01:14And I choose!
01:15What in the world can that be?
01:17Sean gives the mastermind a memorable moment to leave the audience wanting more.
01:21At this point, you'll probably want to re-watch the movie just to enjoy the actor's performance
01:26again.
01:27Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
01:38Number 9.
01:39Playing with dolls.
01:40Spaceballs.
01:41There are a lot of hilarious characters in this sci-fi parody, but Rick Moranis as Dark
01:47Helmet stands out.
01:48Not so fast, Helmet.
01:49Lone Star.
01:50Yes, it's me.
01:51I'm here to save my girlfriend.
01:53Hi, honey.
01:54Now you are going to die.
01:56He might try to be scary behind the helmet, but the character's goofball ways are soon
02:01revealed.
02:02In this scene, a pan around the helmet reveals that the Schwarzwielder is acting out his
02:07nefarious plot with action figures of the film's characters.
02:10I find you strangely attractive.
02:12Of course you do.
02:14Druid princesses are often attracted to money and power, and I have both.
02:19Even if he's the villain, this scene endears us to the boy deep within Dark Helmet that
02:24still needs to play with dolls.
02:26Playing embarrassment with ease, Moranis creates a silly yet memorable moment that explains
02:31the character's fragile ego.
02:33You're needed on the bridge, sir.
02:35Knock on my door!
02:36Knock next time!
02:37Yes, sir.
02:38Did you see anything?
02:39No, sir.
02:40I didn't see you playing with your dolls again.
02:42Good!
02:43Number 8.
02:44Hospital detonation.
02:45The Dark Knight.
02:46He might not exactly be a fun guy, but the Joker is definitely entertaining to watch.
02:52Hi.
02:53In the scene that fully sold us on Heath Ledger's Joker, the villain blows up a Gotham hospital,
02:58only for the explosions to suddenly stop.
03:01Looking confused and a bit annoyed, he shrugs and jams the buttons a few times to get it
03:06working again before scampering to his escape.
03:17Ledger keeps a playful energy here that's hilarious, mesmerizing, and truly evil.
03:23It encapsulates the complexity of the role.
03:26Ledger gives Batman's arch-nemesis a dark humor that both keeps you on your toes and
03:31reminds you that he's never to be trusted.
03:44Number 7.
03:45I'll have that drink now.
03:47The Avengers.
03:48Through the charisma of Tom Hiddleston, the trickster god Loki became one of the most
03:53memorable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
03:56Would you like a drink?
03:58Stalling me won't change anything.
03:59We were most charmed in The Avengers when he's finally cornered by the superhero crew.
04:04His defeat prompts a moment of comic relief, showing some humor in the face of failure.
04:16Puny god.
04:18Hiddleston's performance gives the character more depth than the typical comic book baddie.
04:23After lots of thrilling action, the quip is also a tactful bit of scriptwriting that brings
04:28the film back down to earth.
04:30If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now.
04:37Hiddleston proves that the best antagonists make even the smallest moments memorable.
04:42Number 6.
04:43That's a bingo.
04:44Inglourious Basterds.
04:46From his first scene in this Quentin Tarantino film, Hans Lander shows his charm, and the
04:51terrifying evil that comes with it.
05:00Later in the movie, he attempts to strike a deal with two of the titular bastards.
05:04When he gains a key piece of information, a giddy reaction throws viewers for another
05:09loop.
05:11OSS would be my guess.
05:15Ooh, that's a bingo.
05:19Christoph Waltz can't help but entertain in the moment, adding a little shoulder shimmy
05:24and putting on a serious face to ask for reassurances soon after.
05:28You just say bingo.
05:30Bingo!
05:31How fun!
05:32You don't know whether to laugh or applaud the actor for selling you on such a ridiculous
05:37outburst.
05:38Number 5.
05:40No country for old men.
05:41When Anton Chigurh walks into a gas station, he terrifies you with just a coin.
05:46The villain tells the attendant to call a flip, with evil lurking behind every glance.
05:59It's a simple conversation in some respects, but the weight of Javier Bardem's performance
06:04really comes through here.
06:05You hang on to his every word as he seems to threaten the innocent man across from him.
06:21Bardem's award-winning performance is a masterclass in menace, scaring you with Chigurh's
06:26unpredictable nature.
06:27Will he let the clerk live or kill him?
06:30In this moment, viewers are hooked by an antagonist who both frightens and intrigues you.
06:49Father-son relationships can be hard.
06:51In the first Austin Powers film, Dr. Evil wakes up from cryosleep and meets his son,
06:56Scott.
06:57The teenager then refuses to hug his father.
07:01Hi.
07:02I'm your father.
07:04It's one of the several hilarious interactions where the villain seems to have met his unlikely
07:08match in his own child.
07:10Mike Myers delivers a lot of funny lines in quick succession as he's trying to win over
07:15Scott.
07:16Can I have a hug?
07:18No.
07:20Give me a hug.
07:21No way.
07:22Come here.
07:23I'm not coming over there.
07:24Let's go.
07:25Forget it.
07:26Pronto.
07:27Scott's vulnerable, if still silly, position makes the character more relatable, even during
07:32a humorous scene.
07:33It's also entertaining to watch the baddie chase around his son just for affection.
07:37Well, don't look at me like I'm frickin' Frankenstein.
07:39Give your father a hug.
07:41Hey, don't touch me.
07:44Hug.
07:45Hug.
07:46Get away from me, you lazy-eyed psycho.
07:48Number three, Tears in the Rain, Blade Runner
07:50Roy Batty is one of several replicants that Rick Deckard tracks down in Blade Runner.
07:56While he might seem like a traditional villain, this speech gives his character much more
08:01nuance.
08:02Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?
08:04As his body starts to fail, Batty prepares to die and gives his unique perspective on
08:09life.
08:10In an emotional and melancholic sequence, Batty reveals that there's much more to him
08:14than synthetic parts.
08:15I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
08:24Attack ships on fire.
08:25It's a haunting moment that gives Deckard's quest an added weight.
08:29Some would argue the scene is the highlight of the film, bringing home several themes
08:33in a poignant monologue.
08:35We'll be lost in time like tears in rain.
08:48Rutger Hauer brings a profound humanity to a non-human role, probably making you reconsider
08:54the entire story.
08:55Number two, Prison Production, Paddington 2
08:58Hugh Grant's Phoenix Buchanan might just be his most entertaining role ever.
09:13The actor sinks his teeth into the theatrical villain, exuding narcissistic charm and chewing
09:18up every bit of scenery.
09:20While he does end up in prison at the finale, he finds that he has a literally captive audience
09:26and ensemble in his fellow inmates.
09:37The grand musical number to wrap up the film gives Buchanan the goofball send-off that
09:41he deserves.
09:42Grant sings and dances in a pink prison jumpsuit and makes it all look effortless.
09:47You can't help but smile as even the antagonist of the story receives a fitting farewell.

10:19Number one, Quickdraw, Collateral
10:22He usually plays the hero, but Tom Cruise will turn villainous on some occasions.
10:26His turn as Vincent in Michael Mann's crime thriller Collateral is one such case.
10:41In a critical scene, Vincent shows some robbers he means business after they attempt to steal
10:46his briefcase.
10:47His effective firearm skills quickly dispatch the thieves and leave the audience speechless.
10:57He might be ruthless, but his methods here are nothing short of impressive.
11:01We spend the rest of the film worried about who else he might take down.
11:05Cruise playing it cool subverts our expectations, giving us a Quickdraw we can't forget.
11:13Did we forget an iconic moment where you fell for the villain?
