00:00season opener. Neil McCann alongside the man who has voiced a thousand moments of Scottish football
00:04history. Happy new season to you Ian Crocker. Thank you Hayley and to you and a new top flight season
00:12takes flight in Scotland and this is not bad for starters. This is Hearts against Rangers.
00:22They met here on the final day of last season an enthralling 3-3 draw a mere 78 days later
00:30they're back to launch the 24-25 campaign.
00:39It's a classic contest to kick off 10 months of premiership passion.
01:00Game one let's get going.
01:09Stephen Naismith would love a first win over his old club as a manager.
01:16He's chosen Danda Clark ahead of Craig Gordon. There are debuts for new full-backs Gerald Taylor
01:22and James Penrice. George Grant and Cammie Devlin patrol the midfield.
01:28Jan Danda has joined from Ross County. Barry Mackay started his career at Ibrox.
01:33Lauren Shanklin has been linked with a move there.
01:36Kenneth Vargas completed a permanent switch to Tyne Castle. New arrivals Daniel Oyegoke,
01:43Blair Spittel and Malakai Boateng are on the bench.
01:48Philippe Clement has extended his time at Rangers. Jack Bodlam was their player of the year in his
01:54first season. Conor Goldson has gone but James Tavernier is still around. John Suter spent six
02:00years at Hearts. Conor Barron has arrived from Aberdeen and taken Ryan Jack's number eight shirt.
02:08Oscar Cortes is back after injury disrupted his initial loan spell.
02:13Cyril Dessas has scored more goals against Hearts than any other team. New signings Vaslav Cherny
02:20and Jeff Day are on the bench and keeper Liam Kelly has returned to his Rangers roots.
02:24Danilo's season ended with an injury here last December.
02:32Lauren Shanklin has been linked with a move to Rangers but last season's
02:36top scorer in the Scottish Premiership is still the captain of Hearts.
02:42And the captain of Rangers remains at the club as well. James Tavernier starts his
02:4710th season there and he has so often been their go-to man.
02:57Another free season it's the real thing for Stephen Naismith and Philippe Clement.
03:03Nick Walsh is the referee with Andrew Dallas the VAR. You've got to love an opening day fixture
03:10especially when it's Hearts against Rangers Neil.
03:14Yeah what an opener to the Premiership. I mean there's very few grounds that are as good as this
03:19when it's full. One of the best arenas in Scotland certainly and I tell you I think Hearts are
03:25relishing this today. They are very attacking as Rangers will be as well. I just wonder
03:30Ian whether it will be a story of the two number nines today. Lots of talk about Dessas
03:36and lots of talk about Lauren Shanklin. Really keen to see how Hearts line up today. You can
03:40see that Shanklin and Vargas going up top. Hearts normally operating in a back five.
03:46They're going a back four today so risks from Hearts being at home but yeah I think we're in
03:50for a treat. The two teams that finished second and third last season but they are striving to
03:57be better although they are not alone on that front.
04:05You can see there already that Shanklin is playing in a withdrawn role which I'm sure that
04:10Suter and Davis will be pleased about but that then offers a real outball to Vargas and his pace.
04:17Rangers have a very decent recent record against Hearts on beating in their last
04:2215 encounters. Stretching back to the start of 2020 when Daniel Stendhal's team beat Stephen
04:30Gerrard's team twice in fact in the League and the Scottish Cup. Hearts are on the front foot.
04:36Penrice, Ferdanda, two of the new arrivals. Shetland! Didn't take him long to get a shot away
04:43and sting the palms of Butler. Yeah and no surprise a hit target. Really nice technique.
04:48Lovely little clip from Penrice towards the back post for Ferdanda and when it's nodded down
04:55you're betting he's going to hit the target. He's going to test Jack Butland. Pretty comfortable you
04:59would say but again interesting how the game started to develop early on. Barry Mackay is
05:04playing so inverted. Really inside but he really needs to do a job defensively against this man here.
05:12Here is Tavernier blocked by Mackay.
05:14Tarncastle has been a formidable fortress for Hearts in 2024.
05:22Rangers are actually the last visiting team to win here and that was way back in December.
05:32It's Penrice who along with Ferdanda and Blaise Biddle signed
05:37pre-contracts to move to Hearts. Good players sorted early.
05:45Cortez, Lawrence, Yilmaz now arrives on the scene. Kept occupied by Taylor.
06:01Gerald Taylor
06:05is destined to be a popular player here. Saw him against Tottenham pre-season and he was
06:10he certainly had no trouble getting forward that's for sure. Yeah I agree very physical player, quick
06:14as well. Did well to get back in there.
06:32Ken Davis
06:34here.
06:48Yeah I just wonder whether Frankie Kent just catches on with it. I can see there's a slight
06:52brush of a left hand. Aggressive challenge from the centre back. Can expect a few of those today.
06:59Just a warning from Nick Walsh for Frankie Kent who had a really good first
07:08season at Tarncastle. Solid and some.
07:16Tavernier over this.
07:21In towards the former Hearts man John Souter. Hooked away by Cairo's but the free kick
07:27is given anyway. Yeah a good decision from Nick Walsh there. John Souter around the back. Always
07:32felt he was going to be the target but it's a hard one to defend against because you know
07:36you're going to take contact but he's brave. Wins a header. Gets a foul.
07:40Oh
07:54Santa Clarke has aimed that towards his captain towards his number nine Shanklin. Vargas looking
07:59to latch onto it and it will be an early corner which has certainly encouraged the majority inside
08:05this compact arena. Well there's a little glimpse of a partnership that could flourish today. Vargas
08:12space but the sheer power of Laurence Shanklin. I know the guys were talking about he's more than
08:16goals. He definitely is. He's very good at creating openings for others. Jan Dander should have plenty
08:22to offer. Hearts at his corner. It's comfortably cleared by Dezes. John Dutton will pluck that one
08:32out of the sky. Actually turned out all right. Dezes did well there because he tried the old
08:42Casillas side on volley to release Dezes.
08:46Hamid Diomande has moved into the number 10 shirt this season. Vacated by
09:07Stephen Davis of course. Not much of an act to follow there then. Yeah I think he will improve.
09:14I thought he really grew into an important player for Rangers.
09:18But the guys in there really believe that he's got a huge amount of potential to fulfill.
09:28Suter. Connor Barron who judging by his pre-season appearances looks like he really
09:40relishes the challenge of playing for Rangers.
09:50Davis. Cortez made a dash inside. Davis got rather bogged down.
10:03Oh he's just signed a nice new contract and
10:07I think he could have got an easier game in the opening to the to the premiership season. But with
10:12that new contract of course will come questions in terms of his player recruitment. Is this squad
10:19equipped enough to challenge Celtic? In my opinion right now I don't think
10:23they're at the speed they need to be. Dezes unable to return it to Tom Lawrence.
10:29Shirkland battling away and securing a throw and looking quickly for Dender.
11:00Vargas. Penrice takes over in a great place. But a great save from Gareth Butland.
11:07That is a very good save because it's tucked right into the near post. Really forceful run
11:12from Penrice. I'm not sure whether Mackay is that passing deliberate to Vargas but what a
11:17lovely little touch. Penrice just keeps on motoring. Nice second touch there. It just
11:22steadies it outside the left boot and it's a good save from Jack Butland. Full of attempt
11:29from James Penrice. He's come from Livingston but again another shrewd signing in my opinion at hearts.
11:37Harry Mackay against his former club hoisting that in and it's Frankie Kent who met it but
11:43it's disappeared wide. I tell you I think Gerald Taylor's in a much better position. He's just
11:49tucked behind Kent. I think he's up. Might have got a cleaner header on that but it's again
11:55a real threat at set pieces. Frankie Kent will beat.
12:19Suter.
12:26Diamande. Tom Lawrence has scored a few goals in pre-season and he's seen off Penrice there.
12:33Great strength from Lawrence. Turned away by Kent and it could have been more awkward for him than
12:40that. Yeah Tom Lawrence just gets goal side. He's always a favourite when it comes to body to body.
12:46Just bumps James Penrice but really good defending from Frankie Kent.
12:53Lawrence, Tavernier, Barron.
13:06We didn't see much of Oscar Cortes last season because of injury but what we did see looked
13:11pretty decent. He's swept off the ball there by Taylor though.
13:21This boy's going to provide some real entertainment down that right side. He's powerful. He's quick.
13:27There's a bump there in the back. You know it is body to body but I think Cortes is
13:33in between ball and man there and he does take a little nudge but
13:36there's an indication he's not going to give anything up.
13:41An interesting duel beckons between those two.
13:46Taylor, Oscar Cortes, Tavernier. Flip from Scott Wright.
13:54Tavernier trying to make it happen. Blocked by George Grant.
13:58Devlin gets assistance from Penrice but here's Barron.
14:08Devlin quickly in again. Shanklin now and the flag stays down for now. Kenneth Vargas.
14:18Vargas elected not to take it on himself. He had options. Lawrence Shanklin had burst the
14:26six yard box as well there. Looked onside as well. Meantime back at the other end.
14:34Cortes, Scott Wright. A little bit of room. Quickly closed down by Kent.
14:44Cortes. Diamande.
14:48Well it's starting to get quick this game. It was a slowish start. You can see there that
14:58Vargas is clearly in his own half. Super ball from Shanklin. It's just trying to make the ground up
15:03Shanklin has to do. Dandan needs to get in quicker for me maybe and when he comes inside to try and
15:08roll it. It's too easily defended. Yilmaz tucking in. This is the earlier one with Penrice. I don't
15:12think there's anything in that there. Real good defending from Frankie Kent. Again you can see
15:17the same thing. Not enough support from Rangers. Jerseys pouring into the box. You're asking where
15:22is that number nine of Dessers? Taylor this is good. This is what he does. Gerald Taylor. What
15:32can he do next? Shanklin deflected and deflected wide. Well I did say this boy's going to provide
15:40entertainment. He's got an engine. He's quick but he's powerful. A lovely little
15:46nudge inside to Shanklin in a crucial block.
15:54Vargas. Yandanda. Off the bar from Danda. So close to opening the scoring. To scoring the first
16:06goal of the new Scottish Premiership season. Yeah there's a hint. There's more than a hint of belief
16:11on this Hart's side. Philippe Camont said that it's two sides wanting to win the game. Well
16:16you can see the evidence that Hart's are showing in this. A really aggressive formation. They're in
16:22tent to get players into the final third and the defence of the other Rangers is evident there
16:28as well. I mean this game has just suddenly exploded into life. Rangers need to cope with it as well.
16:35Terrific noise at Tyne Castle now.
16:41Such a fitting venue for a match of this magnitude. Shanklin spun away from Connor Barron who clipped
16:49him. Yeah Shanklin's so strong again. He's really effective in that deeper position but this man
17:00is throwing a few flares out already. Look at the power. He steps away from that challenge.
17:05Steps inside that one. He can probably hit it there but he's aware of Laurie Shanklin just
17:10around and I tell you James Tamiya does ever so well coming in from that full back position
17:14and he had to you know. Well it's a really good start from Hart's. Yeah the Rangers boss in
17:24possession. You can clearly see that Hart's are on top when it comes to goal mouth action.
17:34George Grant over this free kick.
17:39Towards Kent. Dispatched by Cortez and Dessus. Got there in front of Devlin.
17:47A bit to do yet.
17:51Well started all too easily for Rangers liking. Shanklin.
18:00Yeah Dessus needs to be stronger there. He's looking for a foul. Not for me.
18:06Danda and Mackay have just swapped sides for now. Here is Danda.
18:10Devlin. Mackay. Yeah Mackay and Danda have got a wee bit of freedom here to move around.
18:26Grant stops Cortez in his traps. Ridvan Yilmaz.
18:40I think something that Stephen Naismith has been trying to get into the side. There's a
19:02wee bit of freedom. He's taken Spittle and Danda from two clubs that relied so heavily on them for
19:08creation. He's definitely trying to give that license to go and make it difficult for Rangers
19:16to pick them up. See Danda switched with Barry Mackay but they're just coming into the little
19:20areas in between the midfield and forward lane. Rolls up towards Vargas. Unaware. Vargas.
19:39Very aware. He couldn't pick out Barry Mackay at the box for the corner of the heart.
19:45John Suter just gets this all wrong. I don't think he's ever aware of his surroundings.
19:51Doesn't get the flight of the ball. I think Vargas has got to be a little bit more
19:56proactive. Have a little bit more belief in himself. Try and get across John Suter.
20:08Another corner for Barry Mackay.
20:16Into a decent area but cleared by Diamande. Here's Grant. Trapped by Cortez.
20:25On defensive duty to excellent effect. Yeah he did well. He looks quick. He looks sharp Cortez.
20:33I'm pretty sure that the Rangers fans would prefer to see him in the final third doing that
20:38type of stuff. It was only Rangers goal came against hearts and it's a pretty good one was
20:44on the court and a 5-0 win at Ibrox last season which was certainly one of the best,
20:50maybe the best performance under Philippe Clermont.
20:53Big man Jormaas preferred to the Brazilian Jeff Day. One of the new arrivals after Borna Barisic
21:10departed.
21:24So
21:31so
21:46Connor Barron
21:53Jormaas for Cortez. Confronted by Taylor. Moved away from him quick enough.
22:02Scott Wright. It never really settled for him. It's bounced off Cortez though. Diamande.
22:14Barron.
22:15And Xander Clark had to react swiftly. Yeah a really good stop from Xander Clark. He's not had
22:21an awful lot to do you have to see. But when Connor Barron steps inside he's invited because
22:26he doesn't get any pressure coming out to him. A little nick maybe off of Hart's jersey.
22:31But that's a smart stop. Skidding off the surface as well.
22:36Top save from a top keeper Xander Clark.
22:40Top save from a top keeper Xander Clark.
22:49Jormaas will take this corner.
22:54Hart's have had a few sights of goal. More than Rangers. But what might happen here from this?
23:04Good balls. Keeping an eye on Cortez and Devlin who are covering each other almost.
23:11That's cosy isn't it? Lawrence.
23:16Charged down by Bogash. Yeah.
23:25I know Tavier's protesting his innocence but I thought there was a little clip.
23:28It's been played by VAR already.
23:36Jormaas with a cross over the head of Dessas.
23:42Taylor on his way again but he's not going to keep that in.
23:47Yeah he likes to run that bit of it. Nick Walsh had a decision to make here getting help with the
23:51VAR team. I think there's contact. So they're just a little caught. Oh listen. I would say
23:57there's not enough there. I think Vargas it's always a hard one when you're when you're flat
24:01out and you're at full pelt. It doesn't take you an awful lot to knock you over but yeah I think
24:06Tavenier had a case. Diamande for Dessas. It's Cyril Dessas and he's hooked it over.
24:18I tell you the run's good and his first touch is brilliant. He does everything
24:22right here. Watch a little control. It just knocks it beyond Cairo but he's got to finish
24:28there. He's trying to go for the lob. He just doesn't get enough cushion on the touch but it
24:34might have got another angle of that maybe from behind the goal. I just wondered whether he could
24:38have just slotted it past Xander Clark who was totally committed. He did score a couple of decent
24:44goals. A great feat in that 4-4 draw with Union Berlin last week. He ended up with 22 goals last
24:54season. Could have easily been about 52. But that's him in a nutshell. I mean he makes really
25:00good runs. Cyril Dessas and by the way he's a brilliant boy and a really good teammate because
25:03he worked hard but when chances come it takes him maybe one or two before he starts to look as if
25:10he's getting into the groove. It's found a way to Scott Wright. Dessas and Lawrence in the box but it's
25:16brushed off Penrice. Rangers starting to ask some questions. Yeah the game's starting to
25:23as I said it was starting to open up. They've gathered a bit of pace. Rangers had to come
25:27through that spell that Hart's had but I think they'll be a wee bit happier now Philippe Beaumont.
25:41So midfielder Yilmaz will try again. Decent corner but Xander Clark kept a hold of it.
25:50A really good take. Maybe just takes a little nudge off of someone's shoulder here. Yeah
25:55see Diamandy right underneath. He drops it but very good hands. This is a little, look at the
26:02little run. That's a beautiful ball from Diamandy. That touch is really really good. I just wondered
26:06could he have just shoved it past him though. He had some similarly good touches when he
26:14scored a double against Union Berlin. Yeah. Which he did finish.
26:21So
26:33it's been an engaging opening quarter of this opening contest in the new Scottish Premiership
26:40season. Lawrence Tavernier onto this now.
26:54Cortez and Taylor together again.
26:59Well you can see that Cortez is wanting to come inside onto that right foot.
27:03I just don't think he fancies the speed and he's quick himself Cortez.
27:06But I think he realizes that the fullback who faces today has got some speed as well.
27:12So
27:31spot right for James Tavernier.
27:36Right again.
27:39Diamandy. Lawrence.
27:44Returned by Suter.
27:48Away by Penrice. Yeah Penrice did well there.
27:53So as Vargas here. Dander in a good position. Arrives on the scene.
27:59Well I tell you Barry Mackay's eyes must have lit up here.
28:09He's been invited to come in from the left side. Really good break from Vargas when Dander's got
28:13really really clever feet. Shifts on the outside. Just rolls it. And I tell you I think that's
28:19Barry Mackay's forte. Just coming across. Trying to reverse it towards that opposite corner.
28:24Just doesn't keep it down. Yeah and Dander and Barry Mackay were teammates at Swansea
28:30as well. And Mackay actually provided an assist for the first goal of
28:36Dander's career. Almost the other way around there. Bringing him back.
28:42They look a threat don't they? Hart's on the break. Oh Suter and Davis at times look uncomfortable
28:48when Hart's go direct either for the pace of Vargas or the power of Shankland.
28:58Suter.
29:02Davis.
29:19Yeah miscommunication. I think he's expecting Tom Lawrence to go in behind which he's been
29:23encouraged to do since the start of this game. Being he's the one that's sort of getting higher up.
29:37Kept in by Tavenier. Lawrence the beneficiary. Chases on again for these two. Cortez.
29:48There's a throw for Hart but once again those two are quite a watch. Yeah that's
29:53going to be a good battle out there. Cortez does look quick as well.
30:18So
30:44Suter.
30:48Yeah it's interesting because Diamande is short. So he's short of the two strikers.
30:54And Tom Lawrence is really high. Almost sitting on top of the back four of Hart. So
31:00the two centre-backs of Rangers have not got a great deal of options to hit.
31:05Hart's of just side Malakai Boateng you might remember was on loan at Dundee last season.
31:13And Robin Frapper has joined Rangers. Captain of FC Twente.
31:22So we'll see him in the team soon. We needed to sign some more experienced players
31:29after bringing in a lot of young ones and he is certainly that. Well there's another
31:35example of a pretty direct ball up where it becomes a battle or a fight.
31:40And Vargas just shows so much more determination to get in and win that duel.
31:59It's a treatment for Vargas.
32:04So he won't be involved here because Yan Danda stands over the free kick.
32:11Yan Danda making the signals for deflection.
32:17Left Dutton worried. John Suter's line thrown on the ground there. But I tell you when this
32:24comes in I think Frankie Kent has got a real chance of putting a head on this. Wicked deflection.
32:30And he knows that his hands are on his head. He knows that that is a real good opportunity.
32:34Fenrice preparing a long throw. Vargas is back on the field.
32:51George Grant certainly set up for him to strike it.
32:59Lawrence in the way.
32:59A big overload here.
33:05Frankie Kent has stayed up there. Here is Grant. Here is Danda.
33:18Grant just out of reach for Danda. Yeah George Grant knows. He sees the pass he just doesn't
33:24execute it. Too strong with it. But it's a lovely little run from Danda. Watch him just
33:30find that gap here and see if that's a better ball. He's in a really good position.
33:41Shanklin. Danda. Hearts are on the move again.
33:45Screaming for a handball there against Conor Barron which will be checked by Andrew Dulles.
33:51Nick Walsh has got to have a wee word. You see coming in here I'll tell you what. I think
33:57Conor Barron's arm is up and away.
34:04It has been cleared by VAR because of the arm being close to the body.
34:11Yeah I'll tell you what. Last season we saw them giving.
34:20Yeah we definitely saw them giving last season. Maybe a little bit more relaxation of the
34:27of the laws of the game but you can see there that Danda's trying to flight it in.
34:31Well is his hand up there? Does it need to be up there?
34:33He's relieved. Well Willie Collum is
34:41head of refereeing now and they are trying to make the
34:45handball scenario rather less controversial than it appeared last season. I have to say I'm pleased
34:51about coaches. Last season we saw too many penalties given and wrongly in my opinion.
34:57I know Mars looks a little flick maybe from Danda but I think it's totally accidental.
35:07Oh
35:24getting involved
35:30was considered accidental by the VAR check
35:37Scott Wright knocks it on scooped away by Kai Rolls
35:43Barron. Rolls is there again high into the sky
35:50Danda
35:54great header from Davis
36:00Scott Wright has been caught now
36:02there will be no quick free kick before it's going to be a yellow card here for Kammy Devlin. Yeah well
36:11we know Kammy Devlin's traits. He just hunts things. He's taking a heavy touch there.
36:16He does catch Scott Wright. I mean is it worthy of a yellow card? Not in my opinion
36:23but it makes things difficult for him.
36:26Well he was sent off against strangers here a couple of seasons ago
36:41Barron
36:44Davis with the switch to Tavernier
36:56Davis seeking out Lawrence. Found him. Scott Wright on hand
37:06the cross is diverted off Rolls. Yeah well it's a nice run from Tom Lawrence again
37:13picking those little pockets of space between left center back and James Penrice
37:25so Ritvan Yilmaz will try again from this side
37:32Xander Clark couldn't get near it. Frankie Kent could
37:37and that's going to be a free kick as Lawrence charged in
37:44a robust challenge from behind. It's Tom Lawrence. It's a barge in the back. Kenny Fargasson
37:54clearly a free kick. I tell you something happened afterwards within a couple of seconds
37:58immediately after as at Hart's intention to go and break on their counter-attack was
38:02really really obvious
38:13Rangers beat Hart's in both cup semifinals last season. Won three of the four
38:18league meetings too. Should have been a clean sweep but they blew a 3-1 lead here on the final
38:23day of last season. Well the Hart's did come very close to beating Rangers at Ibrox in the first
38:30meeting of last season. One nil up. Ended up losing with goals in the 90th and 93rd minute
38:41for Rangers
38:53a really good awareness from George Grant there. Yes as it closed down
38:56Kai Rolmes just opened his body. Switched the play
39:07Charles
39:10Mackay
39:27Ben Rice who wasn't involved much in pre-season as he recovered from injury
39:34Grant
39:35Taylor
39:40Davis in the way and Butlin gathers
39:44yeah that was wouldn't have been a pleasant one for Ben Davis that you know because God
39:48I think Taylor certainly caught it
39:56played in the Copa America in the summer Gerald Taylor for Costa Rica
40:05Hart's fans have taken to him already
40:16Cortez
40:20stumbled but Shanklin held up by Barron
40:26Hart's still going. Got John Suter across
40:30and Shanklin just bulldozing his way through three or four challenges there
40:44won five trophies in five years as a Rangers player
40:47Taylor goes long towards Rolls. Ben Davis got there first. Jan Danda goes to ground
41:01and now Rangers get a free kick
41:05I tell you what that was launched in from Taylor. I don't think it's a foul on
41:12Danda. There was a little bit of contact you can see there's actually a little touch
41:16yeah there's a brush of Tom Lawrence's hand across the chase but that's not a penalty
41:30Barron
41:47so
41:57Penrice
42:01like it's up for offside against Cargaff. Yeah offside there but I think it's been really uh
42:10effective what Stephen Naismith has done today dropping Lawrence Shanklin. I'm not sure how much
42:13Lawrence Shanklin's enjoying playing in the 10 roll a deeper role but I tell you Vargas is
42:19a bit of freedom to go in behind
42:31towards Desses kept in check by Kemp
42:38this is suggesting otherwise yeah
42:54Cortez blinded by the sun
42:58don't worry it won't last long. It will be away very very shortly. It's good to see it
43:08so
43:23Taylor will take this
43:27well no guesses where this one's going in the big boys are already jogging up
43:33he's had a warm-up just a couple of moments before. Rolls almost got to the last one
43:41Connor Barron gets to this one
43:47Vargas. It's Tavernier on his case
43:52Barron. Yolmaz. Cortez available to his left. He's picked out Desses though
44:02serial Desses. Gonsander Clark makes the save. I just wondered if he was just offside you know
44:09but again it's just another really good move from Desses another brilliant first touch as well but
44:15it's matched by that man there what a stop
44:23well he does make good runs you know and I've said it takes him one or two
44:32attempts just to kind of start getting sharp. You can see there I thought he was maybe just off but
44:37I think he is on. You see the Cai Rolls playing him on there. That's a really good touch. Takes
44:41out the two defenders. Hits target. That's a smart stop from Gonsander Clark. Bouncing straight at him
44:49as well. Awkward height. Well he's had a couple of chances. Serial Desses scored
45:00four goals against Hearts last season. More than against any other team
45:07Tom Lawrence. Catching Devlin. He just leans in here. Right elbow. You can see there right across the jaw of Kami Devlin
45:24Danny Mackay over this
45:36Shankland
45:39lurking, loitering with intent
45:45He's standing in a well offside position here so he's going towards the back post. He'll become
45:49second phase active. Frankie Kent might be the target here for Barry Mackay. Aimed towards him
45:59but steered away by Davis. Danda. Vargas. Tavernier moved in. Diamande
46:19Well this first half has fair flown by. There won't actually be any
46:32stoppage time as it stands at the moment
46:50Sutek
46:56Davis. Barron. Umaz is there to receive that
47:08The opening weekend of the Scottish Premiership
47:11sees a doubleheader tomorrow. The Dundee Derby is back. We start at 12.30
47:18and then it's the champions Celtic hosting Kilmarnock. And there's a Monday night match as
47:24well. Aberdeen under new management with Timmy Tallinn in charge. Go to Craig Levine's St George
47:40So
47:57Davis for Lawrence
48:01Final 30 seconds of the first half. Cortez and Taylor
48:06Awkward goal there for Oscar Cortez which could be a concern. Yeah he's reaching toward the back
48:14of his leg as well which has not. Is it his knee maybe? He's just banged. I wondered if he fancied
48:24taking him on for speed. Well there's your answer. He tries it but Taylor's got bags of that
48:31So it is halftime. Bang on the 45 but then we'll check out the condition of Oscar Cortez
48:40Ian Danda gave the crossbar a shake on his heart's debut and there have been a couple of openings
48:47for serial deathers but he didn't take them and that was certainly a familiar story last season
48:53Halftime in game one in the Scottish Premiership this season. Half nil. Rangers nil
