00:22Before these longtime friends competed for the final spot in the Sakai Taikai, they had

00:38Their last heated conversation was still fresh in their minds when the two were forced to
00:42fight.
00:48Although Hawk has been established as a top contender, Dimitri surprised us by keeping
00:53up with his friend's moves.
00:55Their even duel went back and forth so quickly that we weren't sure who would come out
00:59on top.
01:00Ultimately, Hawk's attempt to make amends during the battle left him open to a shocking
01:05upset.
01:06The emotional nature of this surprising duel left us stunned and excited to see Dimitri
01:11get the chance to step up for Miyagi-Do.
01:18Number 9.
01:19Kreese is crushed by Kim.
01:21The brutal master Kim initially forbade his granddaughter from learning his karate style.
01:26When he caught her spying during a lesson, he prepared to deal out brutal punishment.
01:40But before things went too far, Kreese stepped in to defend the girl.
01:44We were rooting for the wannabe hero to teach his master a lesson, however, the master was
01:49miles ahead of Kreese.
01:51Kim absolutely decimated his opponent with just a few blows.
01:55It got so bad that the master's granddaughter defied him just to stop the fight.
02:00Fortunately, the rebellion convinced the master that the girl was ready to be trained.
02:05While this matchup was definitely one-sided, it's worth noting because it gave us another
02:09rare peek at Kreese's heroic side.
02:21Number 8.
02:23Batting cage brawl.
02:25After trying and failing to reach out to Kenny Payne, Robbie approached the Cobra Kai kid
02:30and his older brother at a batting cage.
02:40It didn't take long for the conversation to turn into a confrontation.
02:44Although Robbie initially had to take on the Payne brothers alone, Miguel came in to provide
02:48backup.
02:54He also showed off his reflexes by punching a fastball right out of the air.
02:59It was amazing to see two former rivals unite against the Paynes.
03:03To make matters even better, Tory and Sam jumped in to help defend and de-escalate.
03:09While the battle ended without a winner, it was clear that the Miyagi-Do students had
03:13the advantage.
03:14The four of them together could definitely overcome any Paynes.
03:24Number 7.
03:26Kreese fights his weakness.
03:32During a martial arts test, the original Cobra Kai sensei got bitten by his snake.
03:37The reptile's venom caused a realistic hallucination of Johnny Lawrence to appear.
03:42After concluding that his old student was his biggest weakness, Kreese fought the illusion.
03:52The sensei was able to deflect and redirect his student's blows easily.
03:56And whenever Johnny slipped up, Kreese wasn't afraid to strike hard and without mercy.
04:01Since their last real world fight made it clear that the student had surpassed the master,
04:06we knew this dream duel was unrealistic.
04:09But it was still fun to watch Kreese live out his twisted martial fantasy for a moment.
04:14Time will tell if winning this mental battle will make the sensei a better fighter in the
04:18real world.
04:26Number 6.
04:27Miyagi-Do Battle Royale.
04:36Only six students from each dojo could go to the Sakai Taikai.
04:40In order to select the top Miyagi-Do fighters, Barnes made them steal flags from allies without
04:45losing all their own.
04:46This test gave us a massive battle royale between the best of the best.
04:51Thanks to dynamic camera movement, it felt like we were right in the center of the action.
04:55The large scale battle was also made up of tiny clashes that were ridiculously fun to
05:00watch.
05:04Since the stakes were so high, our eyes were glued to the scene to see who was in and out
05:09of the battle royale.
05:11Packed with great choreography and surprises, this exciting battle proved that Miyagi-Do
05:16students have come incredibly far.
05:27Number 5.
05:28A Fantastic Fraternity Fight.
05:38When Kyler discovered that all the hazing he endured for a fraternity would amount to
05:42nothing, he got a little petty revenge on one of its members.
05:47His small gesture quickly erupted into a big brawl.
05:50Fortunately, Kyler had Miguel, Hawk, Dimitri and Brux there to help him take on an entire
05:55fraternity of enemies.
05:57The heroes made clever use of their environment to turn the tables on their opponents.
06:02Additionally, the team showed off their martial arts mastery by dodging hits and slithering
06:07out of tight spots.
06:13We never thought we'd see the day where heroes would team up with the obnoxious Kyler.
06:18But this fantastic fraternity fight made us glad that they put aside their pasts to make
06:22this unlikely alliance.
06:29Number 4.
06:30A Clash of Classmates.
06:39Although Kwon was one of his dojo's best fighters, his cocky nature and rebellious attitude kept
06:45him from being seen as the top student.
06:48But everything changed after Kreese encouraged him to prove he was the best.
06:52Kwon then decided to take on the dojo's top fighter solo.
06:56The cocky student was skilled enough to taunt opponents while beating the living daylights
07:00out of them.
07:09Although Kwon was outnumbered during the entire fight, he was so dominating that it never
07:13felt like he was at a disadvantage.
07:15The fast and brutal choreography turned this dark fight into one of the shining jewels
07:20of part 1.
07:21By the end of the clash, we knew he had what it took to become a top series villain.
07:31Number 3.
07:33Sam vs Tori.
07:39What should have been a friendly fight between rivals was tainted by tragedy.
07:44Just a day after Tori lost her mother, she had to duel Sam to see who would become Miyagi-Do's
07:49female captain.
07:51At first, it seemed like the grief had overwhelmed the promising fighter, but when Tori started
07:55turning her rage into power, everyone realized this clash had gotten all too real.
08:04The intense circumstances of the fight made each hit and block carry more weight.
08:09Additionally, Peyton List excelled at making Tori's fight and grief feel achingly raw.
08:15It would have been great if Sam and Tori's duel had gotten to conclude with one of the
08:18two women victorious.
08:20Even though it was interrupted, the match still made a huge impact on us.
08:31Number 2.
08:32Johnny vs Mike Barnes.
08:45It seemed like The Valley wasn't big enough to hold two former Cobra Kai villains at once.
08:50After they had several public disagreements, Johnny tried to clear the air between them
08:54privately.
08:55However, they ended up trading insults and blows instead.
09:09We loved seeing these franchise antagonists finally get into a one-on-one next to a table
09:14saw, but this battle wasn't just about fan service.
09:18Underneath the surface, they dueled to see who had grown the most as a fighter.
09:22Johnny was only able to beat his opponent after he combined Miyagi-Do lessons with his
09:27personal style.
09:28His definitive win over Mike established that the sensei had evolved past his bad Cobra
09:33Kai teachings.
09:58Number 1.
09:59Robby vs Miguel.
10:04Five and a half seasons after this duo clashed over the All-Valley title, they battled to
10:08see who would take the first Miyagi-Do Captain spot.
10:12Although they both had immense talent and great training, Miguel pulled out ahead at
10:16first.
10:17But Robby was able to get back into the battle after he centered himself once more.
10:26As soon as he tied the score, we moved to the edge of our seats.
10:30The dual stakes or choreography would have been enough to put it at the top, but what
10:34made it the best of the batch was Robby's win.
10:37After watching him come up second so many times, it was immensely satisfying to see
10:41him celebrated as Miyagi-Do's champion.
