Intrigued, his partner wanted to catch one of the chicks and asked if it was safe.
José assured her it would be fine, so she went behind the hen to catch a chick.
However, the protective hen had other ideas.
She got furious and, in a flurry of feathers, gave her a quick peck on the head.
Startled and a bit embarrassed, she retreated back to José, rubbing her head and laughing at the unexpected turn of events.
