Conservative MP Robbie Moore has condemned the "deeply concerning" riots in Leeds. It comes as a police car was flipped over and a bus was set on fire at Harehills on Thursday as unrest broke out with hundreds of people gathering on the streets. The West Yorkshire Police have called it a “serious disorder incident”, urging residents to stay at home. Report by Kennedyl. 00:00Well, what's been taking place in Hare Hill in Leeds is completely unacceptable.
00:04I think there's been a huge amount of people out on the streets. We've seen bus
00:07set on fire, police cars overturned. This is completely unacceptable. Nobody wants
00:14to be seeing at this level of riots taking place on our streets. West
00:18Yorkshire Police will be undertaking investigations, I suspect, at the moment
00:22and I would anticipate that we'll see what the results are from what triggered
00:28it and why the police response was as it was. It's too early for me to comment on
00:32that but it is completely unacceptable, the level of rioting that has been
00:37taking place in Leeds. And what's more worrying is there seems to be a huge
00:40amount of lack of respect in those on the police and those that are
00:46carrying out law enforcement. Unfortunately, I've seen that at a much
00:49lesser extent in my constituency, which is not too far away in Keighley of
00:53anti-social behaviour. But we have to get on top of this and I would expect West
00:57Yorkshire Police to be doing that.
