00:30Vice President and outgoing Deputy Secretary Sarah Duterte formally handed over
00:35the leadership of the Education Department to incoming Deputy Secretary Sonny Angara.
00:40At the ceremony, the Vice President pointed out the achievements of the DepEd
00:45under her leadership, including the implementation of a solid agenda
00:50and a solid curriculum for grades 1 to 10,
00:53as well as addressing the needs of teachers, such as leaving their admin tasks.
00:58But Vice President Sarah admitted that due to her short time in the Department,
01:03she had some work to do.
01:05There are steps that we did not finish, such as a solid center, solid portal,
01:12DepEd digital education, overtime pay for teachers, a revised senior high school curriculum,
01:19universal school-based feeding program for kindergarten learners,
01:24calamity fund for teaching and non-teaching personnel,
01:28and an HMO, or health insurance, for teaching and non-teaching personnel.
01:35I would like to pass this on to our next Deputy Secretary.
01:40Vice President Sarah also thanked her DepEd colleagues
01:44and acknowledged the sacrifices of the teachers.
01:46She called on all DepEd officials to support her new leadership.
01:51I hope that your acceptance of me here in the Department of Education
01:57when I arrived last July 2022,
02:02is also the same as the warm acceptance and love
02:07that you showed to Secretary Sonny Angara.
02:11DepEd Incoming Secretary Senator Sonny Angara accepted the new challenge
02:16and thanked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
02:20for his trust in him.
02:22According to Angara, he will be one of the DepEds that started with VP Sarah's leadership.
02:27We will do our best to commit to the changes and reforms
02:31in line with the goals of a new Philippines.
02:35I would like to introduce Vice President Sarah Z. Duterte,

02:45you have been the backbone of our students
02:49and teachers during those hard times.
02:52She also noted her accomplishments as a legislator
02:55and said she will use these experiences to support DepEd.
