00:00Well, there's certainly improved snow conditions in the New South Wales snowy mountains this
00:06week.
00:07I'm at Perisher Resort where, as you can see behind me, the fields are blanketed in snow.
00:11Certainly helped by that polar outbreak which developed in the sub-Antarctic region on Sunday
00:16and has since travelled the eastern side of Australia.
00:20We've had snow in Tasmania, snow in Victoria and New South Wales as well.
00:24Yesterday we had flurries of snow as far north as New England in the states north.
00:30Here in the snowy mountains there could be up to a metre of snow expected across this
00:34week, which after a slow start to the season has been well welcomed by avid snow goers
00:39and businesses alike.
00:41And a great timing to coincide with the New South Wales school holidays which continue
00:46on through this week and into this weekend as well.
00:49So there's certainly lots of families and children around.
00:52We caught up with a few families before they hit the slopes this morning.
00:55Here's what they had to say.
00:56It's cold.
00:57Very cold.
00:58Yeah, we had a few chats with the people in the restaurants just getting lunch and they
01:02are just so grateful that things are improving and it's getting better.
01:05It's great.
01:06Yeah, it's a pity there's not more lifts open but, yeah, it would be, it's good.
01:11They're very crowded so obviously people are enjoying it.
01:14The conditions brought on by this polar outbreak are set to continue today and into tomorrow
01:19morning.
01:20Conditions should then ease before more cold weather is expected this weekend.
