The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2024 (stylised as UEFA EURO 2024) or simply Euro 2024, was the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organised by UEFA for the European men's national teams of its member associations. Germany hosted the tournament, which took place from 14 June to 14 July 2024. The tournament involved 24 teams, with Georgia making their European Championship debut.
It was the third time that European Championship matches were played on German territory, and the second time in reunified Germany, as West Germany hosted the tournament's 1988 edition, and four matches of the multi-national Euro 2020 were played in Munich. It was the first time the competition was held in what was formerly East Germany, with Leipzig as a host city, as well as the first major tournament since the 2006 FIFA World Cup that Germany served as a solo host nation.[1][2] The tournament returned to its usual four-year cycle after the 2020 edition was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Italy were the defending champions, having won the 2020 final against England on penalties,[3] but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.[4] Host nation Germany were eliminated by Spain in the quarter-finals; Spain went on to win the tournament for a record fourth time after defeating England 2–1 in the final.[5]

On 8 March 2017, UEFA announced that two countries, Germany and Turkey, had announced their intentions to host the tournament before the deadline of 3 March 2017.[6][7]
The host was chosen by the UEFA Executive Committee in a confidential ballot,[8][9] needing only a simple majority of votes to win. If the votes were equal, the final decision rested with UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin.[10][11] Out of the 20 members on the UEFA Executive Committee, Reinhard Grindel (Germany) and Servet Yardımcı (Turkey) could not vote because they were ineligible. Lars-Christer Olsson (Sweden) was also absent due to illness. In total, 17 members were able to vote.[12][13]
The host was selected on 27 September 2018 in Nyon, Switzerland.[2][12][14][15] Germany initially planned to fully host Euro 2020, although had not announced any fi

03:50Real Madrid stand for so much that's good in the game
03:53It has got a certain magic attached to it
03:55And I have to say I've been to all the big stadiums in Europe in the world and this is my favorite. It's magnificent
04:02Today's match official Pavel Grigorski
04:14You
04:44You
05:02Might have started the game
05:14You
05:24That's neatly done
05:29Able to ease the pressure by that interception
05:44You
05:49No booking from the referee just a free-kick
05:56Very nearly from the free-kick don't think he could have hit that one much better
06:14You
06:18Well this attack got a bit of menace to it
06:23That's an easy interception because the pass wasn't really a very thoughtful one
06:30England in possession. They've got the ball
06:44You
06:56And it's a throw for Spain
07:02How about how
07:06Yes, it's another throw here
07:14It's with Spain now again
07:19Morata
07:24So now a goal kick to come
07:44Now they've got a chance in this part of the pitch
08:15You
08:22How about how that will help ease the pressure
08:40How about how
08:45You
08:47How frustrating is this for the other team trying to get the touch of the ball
08:56Morata
09:02Terrific stop
09:11Wonderful finish
09:15You
09:22It's a super goal from a splendid team men against boys out there and the opposition goalkeeper can feel
09:30Exposed and let down by his defenders
09:32Might have got the lead there
09:40Back to him again
09:44You
10:04Morata excellent passing right into play
10:09You
10:13Oh and goes across well, they kept up the pressure didn't they but it's finally been stopped now
10:21It's a corner
10:40You
10:42Trying to switch on the attacking power in this situation
10:47Keeping the move going
10:49Great work by the goalkeeper. The ball is his knees made sure he's protected it
10:59Kyle Walker
11:10You
11:17Good tackle
11:24This is an opportunity when you can see the free kick in an area like this you could be in serious trouble
11:33Hasn't been able to beat the wall
11:39You
12:01And in goes the cross
12:04And well to get it wide not done so well with the delivery from the wide areas
12:12Good tackle
12:15You
12:28It's gonna cross it
12:30Proper clearance well away from the danger zone
12:35Corner now for England
12:45That's halftime
12:46Signaled by the referee one nil the halftime score. This has been a high-class first half and
13:14You
13:26Here in the Bernabeu we're underway in the second half
13:39Morata
13:45Hit it here
13:48Wonderful goal
13:59And that could just pull them away to make sure of the victory
14:02Oh, it's a great finish to take the keeper at the equation
14:06I mean the keeper had no chance their bottom corner, and here's the goal again
14:09Just widen the margin here to 2-0
14:14It's a real tussle between the two of them try and get the ball
14:25It could be a chance the keepers pull that one out of the bag
14:39You
14:46Let's go
15:03Able to ease the pressure by that interception
15:10You
15:13England in possession. They've got the ball
15:21Well, it's very good positional play and he's read the situation perfectly with that interception
15:26Just a little money
15:39Morata
15:43Well the cross came in but it went straight to the opposition and now they might break out
15:56You
15:59Nice return pass
16:10That's another turnover here
16:26You
16:44It was so important that he's taken this chance because it still gives them a chance of getting back in the game
16:49Yeah, still got a bit of work to do but momentum is on their side now quite fancy them
16:57And we restart the game 2-1
17:15Way over the top
17:17You
17:24It's fine strong to get that ball back
17:30Morata
17:35I'll walk it
17:47Good progress with this attack
17:54Here's a chance for England
18:08I don't know where they've got the spirit from but it's simply sensational and the scoreline is so because it's level again
18:14Or be pleased with that finish you really will a clean strike
18:19Plenty of power not to mention accuracy to find that pop corner
18:22Brilliant entertainment the scores are level again. Very tight affair here
18:35One or two players are warming up for the home team, we'll see who comes on
18:39And that's good support as they build this attack. That's a useful ball in
18:44off the post
19:14Oh
19:21It goes across
19:35Decide able to dwell on the ball for very long here
19:38It
19:43Brilliant match still nothing between the two teams. They're both going at it hammer and tongues looking for the win
19:53This could be it
19:56It's a goal
20:07And here he was faced by the goalkeeper that was the challenge in you go
20:12Easy as you like it looks easy, doesn't it?
20:14But I can tell you it's not you have to be at the top of your game to try and to convert it
20:19Well defensively bit of a horror show. I think they thought the game was almost up
20:24They'll get a volley kick from the manager for that very good game 3-2
20:38That's a good challenge between the two of them there
21:24Midfield they've got it back by an interception
21:29There it is, it's all over England have won it
21:54You
22:24You
