00:23thousands gathered there for the four-day event. The Republican nominee is
00:27expected to speak publicly on Thursday. He and the party are vowing not to let
00:32this weekend's shooting stand in the way of his run for the White House. They
00:36tried to assassinate him and he's still coming back fighting. So I think the
00:41Republicans are behind him 150 percent. The message that President Trump is
00:46coming out of this is very simple. We have to unite America. We have to unite
00:50the country. Trump says he rewrote his convention speech in light of the
00:54shooting. And today the director of the Secret Service releasing a statement
00:59saying the agency will participate fully with an independent review. Former
01:03firefighter Corey Comparatore died while shielding his family. Two others, 57
01:08year old David Dutch and 74 year old James Copenhaver are now in stable
01:12condition. The FBI has identified the shooter as 20 year old Thomas Matthew
01:16Cook Crooks but are still searching for a motive. As that investigation
01:22continues, Trump is focused on the campaign announcing his pick for Vice
01:25President Ohio Senator J.D. Vance. Vance beat out Florida Senator Marco Rubio
01:30who was previously considered a top contender. The Biden-Harris team quickly
01:35spoke out condemning the pick. Trump picked J.D. Vance as his running mate
01:39because he will do what Mike Pence wouldn't on January 6th. Bend over
01:44backwards to enable Trump and his extreme MAGA agenda even if it means
01:49breaking the law and certainly no matter the harm to the American people.
