02:04The brightness on the faces of the awardees and the massive presence of family members
02:08and friends are an unmistakable translation of the joy in their hearts.
02:13These people have not worked for nothing.
02:15The nation has recognized their sweat, their effort, and it is time to pay them back on
02:20account of 20 May 2024.
02:23It is for this reason that they have this recognition bestowed on them by the President
02:27of the Republic as evidence that a job well done is never forgotten, no matter how long
02:33that might take.
02:34The claim is that cheating and shortcuts should not be part of their professional vocabulary
02:39but rather discipline, patience and loyalty while working in a sensitive and strategic
02:44institution as the Presidency of the Republic.

05:28Israel got the support, the warm support from Cameroon, and I'm sure that we are going to
05:33continue in the same way.

09:11The theme of this year's Cameroon International Tech Summit is technology, innovation, entrepreneurship,
09:17and sustainability as tools to supercharge the national economy.
09:21We believe that young people's minds need to be pushed for them to be able to create
09:25digital solutions.
09:27Through provoking conversations and hacks to solve pressing challenges, the youths carried
09:32out a number of activities.
09:35My team is expert AI and we're working on a project to create a digital platform where
09:41Cameroonians could get jobs outside from home, not necessarily traveling to those other countries.
09:47At times we developers, we have the tendency of just building things, but at the end they
09:52are not being used.
09:53They have taught us how to build and adjust various solutions so that it can be sustainable.
09:58I will also be coming up with my own solutions that people are going to use and it's going
10:02to benefit society.
10:03The prizes and awards handed to the youngsters at the end of the three-day forum is expected
10:09to help them create an emerging technology talent hub.
10:15Cameroon and their foreign partners will begin exploiting iron ore in Balaam by the end of
10:19this year.
10:20This is the main information that filtered out of an audience the Minister of Mines granted
10:25to top officials from Jeune Afrique.
10:27Details with Clarice Aretaka.
10:31The Balaam Nabeba project has been technically launched with both the Cameroonian and Congolese
10:35sides ensuring that the preliminaries are in place for effective production to kick
10:40off.
10:41It is however essential that the companies which will be exploiting the iron ore from
10:45the sites are leaving no stone unturned in order to be effectively ready.
10:50Progress made in this regard was thus at the center of discussions with senior executives
10:54of Jeune Afrique led by its Director General.
10:57Topics of interest included the level of works done on the mining field and employment opportunities.
11:02The project is in the start-up phase.
11:08Now we are already preparing the mining site and very soon all activity will start.
11:17Now we have just created more than 10 kilometers of road.
11:22We are going to construct the production plant before the end of the year we are going to
11:28enter into production.
11:29The Mbalam Nabeba iron ore project is expected to transform the socio-economic landscape
11:34of the host communities.
11:36Reason why emphasis is on getting them fully involved in the project.
11:43Now sigh of relief following the arrest of a gang of suspected robbers notorious for
11:50attacking bike riders and seizing their bikes.
11:53The three suspects were presented to media men at the Obala police station with a call
11:58on the population to be vigilant and avoid isolated areas at night.
12:02Clovis Bowe brought back the report.
12:06Twenty-year-old Luis Njom and his peers Bobo Hamajida and Mbala Ohanja will no longer be
12:12a threat to the peace and tranquility of the population of Obala.
12:16Following multiple complaints against the gang notorious in the stealing of bikes, they
12:21are finally fallen into the dark net of forces of law and order.
12:25When they see someone going in the street, they follow you and push you down, seize
12:31your bike and run away.
12:34The gang, commonly known as Ame Dele, are reported to have inflicted pain on every victim
12:39they come across in their operations.
12:41The crackdown was made easy through a collaboration between local authorities and elements of
12:47the police.
12:48We have decided to put in place a strategy to fight against this criminal act.
12:54We are happy for the result.
12:57I want to use this opportunity, first of all, to thank the elements of police, with the
13:03collaboration with the other forces of law and order, for the result that we have already
13:07registered.
13:08We are still going to work on this purpose and I am sure within a month we are going
13:15to, if possible, catch all of those armed robbers.
13:20Inhabitants have thus been cautioned against movement in isolated areas, especially at
13:26night.

15:33This time, victims of last Monday's fire incident in the Foulane have received some comfort
15:38from the Archbishop of Yaoundé who visited there this afternoon.
15:42He brought along clothing from members of about four families affected and words of
15:47compassion to the families who lost their property during the fire tragedy.
15:51Beatrice Losamba reports on the Bishop's show of solidarity.
15:57The nightmare is far from over in the Foulane.
16:01Few days after fire ignited by a fuel tanker consumed houses and shops, causing untold
16:07loss.
16:08When I go to sleep, I still see the flames in my head and my heart beats fast.
16:14I was still mourning my husband when this incident occurred, taking away the only thing
16:19he left for me, my house.
16:26No lives were lost, no one was injured, but the injuries the soul incurred are deep.
16:33The Archbishop of Yaoundé who lives just a couple of houses away comes in with a spiritual
16:38balm to heal.
16:40We came to give our testimony of solidarity in prayer, in spirituality, and we hope to
16:50continue.
16:51A timely visitor, the victims say, he gave them comforting words they wanted to hear
16:59and brought the gift of the Holy Spirit, some garments and beddings to shield them from
17:04the cold.
17:05It means that we are not alone.
17:09We could have lost so many people, but that does not happen.

18:39with its head office in Paris, France.
18:41The rector of the University of Douala, Professor Maglois Ondua, appreciated the kind act and
18:46encouraged all to copy the example which honors one's academic background.

20:07replenish their souls.

20:52per week as their holidaymakers seem to have a high appetite for food this time.

21:02to see how they are handling this feeding issue this holiday.

21:14During the three-month break, they are expected to give a helping hand to their parents.
21:20The daily follow-up, which is expected of parents to ensure the growth of their kids,
21:26they say is not an easy task.
21:29Among the routines parents struggle with is managing healthy diets for their children.
21:36This period they eat healthy diets such as vegetables, fish, ground nuts, meat and rice.
21:42We program day-to-day meal times for two days because during this period it's not easy.
21:47For the month, I take one bag of rice, but it has made two weeks and I have bought another
21:53one again.

22:18While other children are keeping themselves busy with house choices, others relax with
22:25their friends.
22:28On our ICT page, we discover a new electronic device called Georges Connecté, which is
22:34used in measuring the quantity of liquid in a container or tank.
22:38The device is designed to help filling stations and car owners determine the amount of fuel
22:43in their reservoir.
22:44It was produced in Douala by 22-year-old Cameroonian engineer Foto Asoyamogo Maksimen Anor.
22:52Details with Emmanuelle Achifouya.
22:56The electronic device Georges Connecté comes to facilitate work in filling stations.
23:02Instead of dipping measuring rods into tanks or reservoirs to estimate the quantity of
23:07petrol, filling stations and car owners can now easily use this sensor for accurate measurements.
23:15When you put the gauge in the reservoir, it calculates the distance and volume of the
23:19content, then gives you the result on your phone or laptop.
23:23Someone can be abroad and still follow up how much petrol is in his filling station.
23:29To read the result, users create a profile on a website known as bling.com.
23:34There, you create a profile for yourself and logging the details of your gauge.
23:40Each time it measures a tank, the app converts the readings and gives you the result in letters.
23:47While leveraging on the Blink website, the 22-year-old plans to develop a mobile application
