00:10:20Can you believe that asshole Lamberti?
00:10:25Yeah.
00:10:27That prick probably makes more money in a month than I'll see in my lifetime.
00:10:33Tell me something, David.
00:10:36When you walk into a place like that, are you thinking to yourself,
00:10:39why the fuck am I married?
00:10:42No.
00:10:43Because Joanne's worth ten of them.
00:10:45Ten?
00:10:47That's pretty incredible.
00:10:49So is she, pal.
00:10:52Wonder what she says about you.
00:10:55She says I'm all she needs.
00:10:58♪♪
00:11:04Picking up because I was depressed.
00:11:07The main thing it did was loosen me up.
00:11:09Can you elaborate?
00:11:12I thought about having sex with a lot of guys, a lot of different ways.
00:11:18I thought about seducing a room full of prim guys like judges and lawyers and doctors.
00:11:26And they couldn't resist my charms.
00:11:31And they turned into animals.
00:11:33Not literally, but wild sex creatures.
00:11:39And they'd start taking me by force and passing me around from man to man.
00:11:44And, um...
00:11:48I thought about seducing a young guy who's never had sex before.
00:11:54And I'd just have to teach him everything.
00:11:58And I thought about sex with a beautiful woman.
00:12:01And couples.
00:12:03You know I do.
00:12:04Thank you.
00:12:05I made it feel so good.
00:12:06God, shut up.
00:12:07You'll be out of here in an hour.
00:12:08An hour's plenty of time for us.
00:12:10Let's get up here.
00:12:12Imagine being cooped up with her for five minutes.
00:12:17What a prize, huh?
00:12:19Yeah, a booby prize.
00:12:21What a prize, huh?
00:12:23Yeah, a booby prize.
00:12:51Yeah, you know what to do.
00:12:56I met David a year ago.
00:12:58It was a Tuesday.
00:13:01I was driving to work.
00:13:02I had this shift at this cocktail lounge.
00:13:05I was late, so I guess I was speeding.
00:13:08He pulled me over and he gave me a traffic ticket.
00:13:11A week later he paid my fine.
00:13:13He left his wife and that was that.
00:13:21The first few months, David was incredible.
00:13:25I had never had a man treat me so well.
00:13:28It was like we were one person.
00:13:32When the money got tight, we started having problems.
00:13:36He was always worried about being able to pay the bills.
00:13:39The mortgage on the house, it was way too high.
00:13:43So he worked more.
00:13:44We had less time together.
00:13:47I made up this total fantasy life.
00:13:50I made up all these men who paid attention to me.
00:13:53When did that end?
00:13:55It didn't.
00:13:57And so, the relationship got worse.
00:14:02So I decided I was going to make David pay attention to me
00:14:04like he did when we were first together.
00:14:20I'm sorry.
00:14:50I'm sorry.
00:14:56Joanne!
00:15:14Councilman Fletcher Ross officiated at groundbreaking ceremonies
00:15:17for the Angelico Shelter for Abused Children.
00:15:19Ross described the shelter as one more facet
00:15:21of his Clean Empire City campaign.
00:15:23Many areas thought to be strongholds of Mayor Garibaldi...
00:15:49I think you look good.
00:15:52And the goddamn television is out!
00:16:05He must have felt rejected.
00:16:07He was really withdrawn.
00:16:10He didn't know what to do.
00:16:12He didn't know what to do.
00:16:14He didn't know what to do.
00:16:16He didn't know what to do.
00:16:17He was withdrawn.
00:16:19I thought that he was unhappy with me
00:16:21and that he'd grown tired of me.
00:16:24I didn't know that we were on the verge of a breakthrough
00:16:26in our relationship.
00:16:28I kept...
00:16:37Who is it?
00:16:39Intercontinental Cable.
00:16:40You reported a problem?
00:16:42Do you need to come inside?
00:16:44Yeah, I need to check all the connections inside and out.
00:16:47Okay.
00:16:59Do you want something to drink?
00:17:01No, thanks.
00:17:05Are you sure?
00:17:11If it's not too much trouble.
00:17:15No trouble at all.
00:17:18So what do you got?
00:17:21What would you like?
00:17:25What's your husband drink?
00:17:28Beer, I guess.
00:17:39So what'll it be?
00:17:43He's a cop?
00:17:45That's right.
00:17:47A boy's fantasy come true.
00:17:50So he's always gone, fighting crime.
00:17:54Sounds dangerous.
00:17:58I like danger.
00:18:03I... I'm married.
00:18:05We have a lot...
00:18:15He liked to watch.
00:18:18That's what really turned him on.
00:18:21That was the secret.
00:18:23Watching me have sex with other men.
00:18:26Doing everything nasty with them.
00:18:29He loved it all.
00:18:32That's how it all got started.
00:18:34Whose idea was the ad?
00:18:36Yours or his?
00:18:38Mine, I think.
00:18:40I don't know.
00:18:41Yours or his?
00:18:43Mine, I think.
00:18:45I'd set it as a joke, but David was all for it.
00:18:48The money, ever.
00:18:50It was like therapy for both of us.
00:18:54I know this is going to sound strange to a lot of people,
00:18:57but it saved our marriage.
00:18:59And we were two people who loved each other very much.
00:19:03We still do.
00:19:08We have power.
00:19:10Aha!
00:19:12Smile for me, baby.
00:19:14All right.
00:19:16How about parting those lips?
00:19:40Wow.
00:19:42You look fantastic.
00:19:44I'm nervous.
00:19:46Yeah.
00:19:48Me too.
00:19:50You sure you want to go through with this, Joanne?
00:19:54So enjoy yourself and...
00:19:56remember,
00:19:58I'm right in the next room.
00:20:00Okay.
00:20:02I think he's here.
00:20:10I love you.
00:20:27Hi, Ken?
00:20:29Court went a little longer than I expected.
00:20:32Come on in.
00:20:34This is for you.
00:20:36Thank you.
00:20:38What a nice choice.
00:20:40I only pay for the best.
00:20:55You're a lawyer?
00:20:57You could say that.
00:20:59What would you say?
00:21:02I guess I would say...
00:21:04I guess I would say I'm an assistant D.A.
00:21:08I'm impressed.
00:21:12Well, some girls find my position intimidating.
00:21:15Come on.
00:21:17A sexy guy like you?
00:21:23Do you have some glasses for this?
00:21:27Wouldn't you be more comfortable in the bedroom?
00:21:33Actually, if you don't mind, Joanne,
00:21:36do you mind if we just talk for a while?
00:21:46I have no idea.
00:21:49I wish.
00:21:54I interrupted.
00:21:56You were talking about your job.
00:21:59Job?
00:22:04You really want to know?
00:22:06Yeah, Mrs. Cole.
00:22:08I really want to know.
00:22:10He was...
00:22:14totally unselfish.
00:22:17He really got into how I felt.
00:22:20He kept touching me,
00:22:22stroking me,
00:22:25till I thought I was going to explode.
00:22:29It's weird,
00:22:31but it was the right thing to do.
00:22:33He was all about making me feel good.
00:22:37Maybe he came here tonight
00:22:39to prove he could make someone else happy.
00:22:42Yeah.
00:22:44Or maybe he was just looking to get laid.
00:22:46And that was great.
00:22:48The two of us were together,
00:22:50completely together.
00:22:52Well, not exactly just the two of you.
00:22:56How many others were there in the beginning?
00:22:59At first, it was one or two a week.
00:23:03Then it got bigger.
00:23:20Kiss me, baby.
00:23:34Come in.
00:23:38Nice to meet you.
00:23:40Thanks for having us.
00:23:45Pleasure.
00:24:03I love you.
00:24:33I love you.
00:25:04No, ma'am.
00:25:06Interesting free sample.
00:25:13For me?
00:25:14You got it.
00:25:22I knew that she was me
00:25:24if I hadn't found a way to get out.
00:25:26But I found a way to be happy.
00:25:29And David loved me.
00:25:31We could have been together
00:25:33if things had gone on like that
00:25:35for the rest of our lives.
00:25:42Yeah, David.
00:25:44William Lamberti here.
00:25:46Listen, I need your help, guy.
00:25:49I'm under a lot of heat.
00:25:51That Fletcher Ross sent over some jerk yesterday.
00:25:53So what?
00:25:55Well, so, uh,
00:25:57I need you to get him off my back.
00:25:59Look,
00:26:01I know how you like to watch my girls dance.
00:26:03I'm a generous man when it comes to favors.
00:26:05I'm not asking for anything free.
00:26:07I don't need anything from you.
00:26:09So go screw yourself.
00:26:14What was that all about?
00:26:16Eh, nothing.
00:26:18Just, uh, some lunatic.
00:26:20Can you believe these bastards want to cut our pay?
00:26:22Like we don't have enough to put up with around here?
00:26:24Hey, it happens every year.
00:26:26It's just talk.
00:26:28We put our lives on the line
00:26:30every day for these assholes
00:26:31who don't give a damn, huh?
00:26:33I should have gone to medical school like I wanted to.
00:26:35It's only money.
00:26:37I thought all you cared about was money.
00:26:39Rod, there's some things in life money just can't buy.
00:26:41Like what?
00:26:43Love.
00:26:45And the perfect woman.
00:26:48Come on in.
00:26:50Thanks.
00:26:57You're a friend of Judge Keaton's?
00:26:59Yes.
00:27:01What about you?
00:27:15You're a lawyer?
00:27:17Me?
00:27:19No, I'm a doctor.
00:27:21Really? What kind?
00:27:23I'm a heart specialist.
00:27:25Keeps you healthy.
00:27:27Is that true?
00:27:29Sure.
00:27:32Here's to our health.
00:27:59I think we'll keep them on.
00:28:02They always take such good care of themselves.
00:28:06There's some things money just can't buy.
00:28:09I heard I was saying the same thing today.
00:28:29Put you up a deck chair.
00:28:31Tired or what?
00:28:33You got that one right.
00:28:35What's officer I'm not getting paid shit grinning for?
00:28:39Well, it's not money, so you figure it out.
00:28:42Oh, yeah.
00:28:44The big date.
00:28:46So how was she?
00:28:48Question is, how wasn't she?
00:28:51Does that mean she was good?
00:28:53Good?
00:28:55Oh, man, she did everything.
00:28:58There's not one thing she didn't do.
00:29:01You're full of crap.
00:29:03She was probably 55 with loads of kids.
00:29:07Let me tell you something, partner.
00:29:09She did things that your wife would never, ever do.
00:29:14So why don't you tell me about it?
00:29:18It was wild.
00:29:20Lasted for hours.
00:29:23Rod was a great partner for both of us.
00:29:26And David didn't mind?
00:29:28No.
00:29:29Did he ever get tired of watching?
00:29:32Not really.
00:29:34But after a while, he wanted me to watch with him.
00:29:37So we could make love in front of the screen.
00:29:40And basically he wanted to do what we saw.
00:29:43I would be the woman on the screen.
00:29:46And he would be the man.
00:29:48Or whoever.
00:29:50And that way we could share the benefits of our education.
00:30:00I'll be there as soon as I can.
00:30:03Just make sure the tabs on the tape aren't broken.
00:30:06And press play and record.
00:30:08Good. See you later, baby.
00:30:11Forget it, Dave. I never met a woman who could work a VCR.
00:30:14This is no ordinary woman.
00:30:30If people don't lock their doors, I guess they want you to come in.
00:30:35I didn't know it was unlocked.
00:30:38Are you who I think you are?
00:30:42Wait. Wait.
00:30:44I didn't do nothing, officer.
00:30:48Dave.
00:30:50This lady invited me here.
00:30:54She done anything to you?
00:30:56No.
00:30:57Are you sure?
00:30:59I just want him to go.
00:31:05So this lady's your girlfriend?
00:31:08Or is it your wife?
00:31:10That night really scared me.
00:31:13Up until then it had been people I liked.
00:31:16Civilized people.
00:31:18Certainly nobody I had to be afraid of.
00:31:22David knew that things would never be the same after that.
00:31:26He tried to pretend that things would go back to normal.
00:31:30I saw a friend of yours tonight.
00:31:33I think he could help us.
00:31:36Hey, officer.
00:31:38It's William, you know.
00:31:40William Tell, or William Not Tell, if you're lucky.
00:31:42Hey.
00:31:44It's Lombardi.
00:31:46Boy, have I got a great deal for you.
00:31:48So give us a call here.
00:31:50I hope to talk to you real soon while this is all refreshing.
00:31:52If it's fine with you.
00:31:54Ciao, baby.
00:31:59Ciao.
00:32:17So who's the guy Lombardi who called?
00:32:20You heard that one, huh?
00:32:22Mm-hmm.
00:32:26Guy's nobody.
00:32:27Scum.
00:32:29I forgot.
00:32:33What was that weird message all about?
00:32:45Nothing I can't handle.
00:32:58Are you into politics?
00:33:00Or do you just like my campaign?
00:33:02Well, I like what you do for women.
00:33:05And looking around the office, I see that you hire mostly women.
00:33:11I do what I can.
00:33:17I believe that politicians can make a difference.
00:33:23And they're not out for themselves all the time.
00:33:25Well, maybe we can use you a little more.
00:33:30Well, feel free to call me any time.
00:33:33And overtime is no problem.
00:33:35Good.
00:33:37Sometimes I do need extra help at night.
00:33:39Oh, sorry, Fletch.
00:33:41I didn't know if anyone was here.
00:33:43Hello, David.
00:33:45How you been?
00:33:47I'm good, thanks.
00:33:49How about you?
00:33:51I'm good, thanks.
00:33:53How about you?
00:33:55I'm good, thanks.
00:33:57How about you?
00:33:59I'm good, thanks.
00:34:01How about you?
00:34:03I'm good, thanks.
00:34:05How about you?
00:34:06I'm good, thanks.
00:34:08How you been?
00:34:10Diane, get me a cup of coffee, will you?
00:34:12Please, black.
00:34:22Business as usual, eh, boss?
00:34:24You got to keep the followers happy.
00:34:26Especially around election time.
00:34:28Yeah, those limmings do.
00:34:30Hey, David, I'm on kind of a tight schedule.
00:34:32What can I do for you?
00:34:34Actually, Fletch, I think it's something I can do for you.
00:34:37Really?
00:34:39Guys and me have been talking, and we decided, you know,
00:34:41you've done some real good things for the force over the years,
00:34:43and we'd sure like to see you become the next mayor.
00:34:48Use all the support I can get.
00:34:50So we want to start helping you close down some of them damn strip clubs.
00:34:54Get in there, look for violations,
00:34:56make it real difficult for the customers to enjoy themselves, you know?
00:35:00What's the catch?
00:35:01We're worried about pay cuts.
00:35:03Don't worry, David.
00:35:05There'll be no pay cuts.
00:35:12Here's your coffee, sir.
00:35:14Thank you.
00:35:16Diane, there's some foolers in the Gruber account in the outer office.
00:35:18Would you get those for me, please?
00:35:22You sure can pick them.
00:35:24You still married?
00:35:26Yeah.
00:35:28I heard you got married again.
00:35:29Yeah.
00:35:32You don't seem too thrilled about it.
00:35:34No, it's okay.
00:35:36It's a good arrangement.
00:35:38But there's some things in life you gotta leave home to get.
00:35:40You know what I mean?
00:35:42Yeah.
00:35:44Tell me about it.
00:35:46Heck, I was with some girl last night.
00:35:48I gotta tell you,
00:35:50I've always had a weakness for beautiful women,
00:35:52but this one was flawless.
00:35:54But I should push on.
00:35:56Hey, wait a minute.
00:35:57Wait a minute.
00:35:59Tell me about her.
00:36:01What, the wife?
00:36:03No, dickhead.
00:36:05The girl last night.
00:36:07Oh, that's the damnedest thing.
00:36:09I saw about it in a newspaper, an ad.
00:36:11What, an out-call service?
00:36:13No, no.
00:36:15This is a freelance situation.
00:36:17Very exclusive.
00:36:19I'm sorry.
00:36:24I've had it with my wife.
00:36:27Then go home.
00:36:29You don't need me.
00:36:32You know I am.
00:36:35I'm a pretty important man, Lee.
00:36:37I keep this whole damn city running smoothly.
00:36:40Son of a bitch.
00:36:42Hey, great.
00:36:44Fucking great, I tell you.
00:36:46Just great.
00:36:48And plenty of close-ups.
00:36:50Yeah.
00:36:52I love it.
00:36:54You know what I feel?
00:36:56I feel vindicated.
00:36:59I thought you wouldn't.
00:37:01No, I see it.
00:37:04There's two things that make the world go round.
00:37:07One,
00:37:08there's two things that make the world go round.
00:37:11One is sex.
00:37:13And money.
00:37:15And we're in the same business.
00:37:17You and me.
00:37:19And your wife.
00:37:21We got the same animal instincts.
00:37:23Know what I mean?
00:37:25Well, there's two kinds of animals.
00:37:27The ones that eat,
00:37:29and the ones that get eaten.
00:37:32You know what I want to see?
00:37:34I want to see Fletcher Ross
00:37:36mauled
00:37:39and then eaten.
00:37:42Can you dig it?
00:37:45You're getting ahead of yourself.
00:37:47First, we got to discuss terms.
00:37:50Terms?
00:37:53What are you talking about, terms?
00:37:57The tape's yours.
00:37:59For 50 grand.
00:38:01In cash.
00:38:03By Friday.
00:38:05What are you, nuts?
00:38:06I thought I was talking to a reasonable man.
00:38:08Where the fuck do you think
00:38:10I'm going to get a hold of 50 grand?
00:38:12You got connections.
00:38:14Hey,
00:38:16why should I give you a goddamn nickel?
00:38:18It's your assets on the line.
00:38:20All I got to do is take this tape to the cops.
00:38:23And I know plenty of cops.
00:38:26Yeah, me too.
00:38:28And that got me thinking.
00:38:30I mean, I've been on the force, what,
00:38:32seven years?
00:38:34Seven years without one reprimand.
00:38:36So who are they going to believe?
00:38:38You or me?
00:38:40You got any proof?
00:38:42Yeah.
00:38:44I got the air.
00:38:47I don't mean shit.
00:38:49Oh, yeah, you got the word of Imelcho Hernandez.
00:38:52But I bet you 50 grand,
00:38:54you couldn't get that twisted
00:38:56son of a bitch
00:38:58anywhere near a police station.
00:39:02Stay in touch, huh?
00:39:06Yeah.
00:39:26Don't you think you should tell me what's going on?
00:39:29Try your tea.
00:39:31Tell me if I made it too strong.
00:39:33Are you blackmailing Fletcher Ross?
00:39:36Personally?
00:39:38No.
00:39:40But if it suits our purposes
00:39:42to help one of his enemies,
00:39:44then who cares?
00:39:46Guy's a first-class prick.
00:39:48David.
00:39:50Joanne.
00:39:53You're looking at a good, clean cop, okay?
00:39:56Nobody puts the screws on me,
00:39:58on us.
00:40:00I'm just turning the tables, okay?
00:40:02I don't know.
00:40:04In fact,
00:40:06I wouldn't worry about it if I were you,
00:40:08because it's all taken care of.
00:40:10Rather neat little piece of work on my part.
00:40:16Open wide.
00:40:23Beautiful.
00:40:25Beautiful.
00:40:34I had my doubts.
00:40:37I trusted David to work things out.
00:40:40It was beyond his control.
00:40:42Lamberti was as determined
00:40:44to keep himself in action as we were.
00:40:46As a policeman, David should have known.
00:40:48If you bring the streets into your home,
00:40:50you can't control what's going to happen.
00:40:55What if he changes his mind?
00:40:57He's a businessman.
00:40:59He'll take the easy way out.
00:41:01What about Ross?
00:41:03Fletcher's no fool.
00:41:05He'll find some new cause to focus in on.
00:41:08Someone's here.
00:41:15He's a friggin' dyke.
00:41:17Let me talk to her.
00:41:19Then get rid of that freak.
00:41:20Joanne, it's Ingrid.
00:41:22Ingrid, what is it?
00:41:24Please, darling, I have to talk to you.
00:41:26It's very important.
00:41:28I can't talk to you not now.
00:41:30You have to leave.
00:41:32I tried calling.
00:41:34Look, I have tickets.
00:41:36I'm taking you to France.
00:41:38I've got everything planned.
00:41:40You don't have to worry about a thing.
00:41:42Ingrid, I can't leave, not now.
00:41:44Open up. Why are you closed?
00:41:46I'll take care of you.
00:41:48I can't.
00:41:50I have to go.
00:41:54David, what do you think you're doing?
00:42:02This is an emergency.
00:42:04Please help me.
00:42:06I saw a man at the house with my friend.
00:42:08He's got a gun.
00:42:10Yes.
00:42:12650 Paloma Avenue.
00:42:14Woodland Hills.
00:42:16Yes.
00:42:18Thank you.
00:42:21Come here.
00:42:33Where the hell is she going to take you?
00:42:35France.
00:42:39That's got to be him.
00:42:42Okay, let him in.
00:42:44Just make sure he's alone, all right?
00:42:51Hey.
00:42:53Hey.
00:42:55Yeah.
00:42:57I'm glad you could make it.
00:42:59You got all of it?
00:43:02I resent.
00:43:05Well, I guess you're the girl that started all this.
00:43:08Yeah.
00:43:10Well, I guess you're the girl that started all this.
00:43:12Yeah.
00:43:14Well, I guess you're the girl that started all this.
00:43:16Yeah.
00:43:17Well, I guess you're the girl that started all this.
00:43:19Well, I guess you're the girl that started all this.
00:43:22Hello.
00:43:26I understand you're going to become a big video star.
00:43:30Unlock the case, Lombardi.
00:43:32Aren't you going to offer me a drink?
00:43:35Just open the goddamn case.
00:43:39David,
00:43:41if we're going to be partners,
00:43:45you've got to learn to trust me.
00:43:47You've got to trust me.
00:43:51Feast your eyes.
00:43:58Okay, fix the knife.
00:44:00All right.
00:44:02Rise and shine.
00:44:06Pull the gun out of your back.
00:44:08Throw it over there.
00:44:10Don't touch it.
00:44:12It's right here.
00:44:14Watch it.
00:44:16It's down.
00:44:18Give me the tape.
00:44:20The tape.
00:44:22There better be a tape.
00:44:24Of course there's a fucking videotape.
00:44:29All right.
00:44:31Put it in the briefcase.
00:44:33Fifty grand.
00:44:36You snake.
00:44:39Hey.
00:44:45Stop it.
00:44:48Stop it right now.
00:44:54Stop it.
00:44:57Freeze.
00:45:02Don't shoot. Don't shoot.
00:45:04It's my part.
00:45:06What the fuck's going on here, David?
00:45:09That maniac broke into my house.
00:45:11What?
00:45:12This is your house?
00:45:14He was after my wife.
00:45:15Your wife?
00:45:16He was going to kill me, Rod.
00:45:19Why don't you tell him about the blackmail scam?
00:45:22Tell him about the videotapes.
00:45:24With your wife making it with all of her gentlemen friends.
00:45:27I don't know what you're talking about.
00:45:29I don't know what you're talking about.
00:45:31I don't know what you're talking about.
00:45:33I don't know what you're talking about.
00:45:35We're friends.
00:45:37Let's talk about this at the station, huh?
00:45:39Yeah, if I talk, I tell him everything.
00:45:41And that's how it goes down, partner.
00:45:44Let's go.
00:45:54Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:46:00Might be, um...
00:46:05And how did you feel when the media got hold of your story?
00:46:09I didn't realize that was such a big deal.
00:46:12I didn't know our story would attract so much attention.
00:46:16I wasn't prepared for any of it.
00:46:18And from what I hear, there are dozens
00:46:21of public and private figures that
00:46:23would do just about anything to keep their name out of it.
00:46:26I wouldn't know anything about that.
00:46:29I can't comment about that at this time.
00:46:30Our office is not ready to release any information
00:46:32about the case that would have been a full review.
00:46:34What can you tell us about the videotapes?
00:46:36I can't comment.
00:46:37But the people who have seen the tapes
00:46:38have identified many of the people involved.
00:46:40What are you saying about that?
00:46:41I, uh, can't comment.
00:46:43Well, what about Fletcher Ross?
00:46:44Judge Keaton, members of the police department?
00:46:46No comment.
00:46:47What about the black book?
00:46:48No comment.
00:46:49Mr. Craven, these people are witnesses to a crime.
00:46:51I can't comment.
00:46:52I can't comment.
00:46:53I can't comment.
00:46:54I can't comment.
00:46:55I can't comment.
00:46:56I can't comment.
00:46:57These people are witnesses to a crime.
00:46:58And under state law, their names have to be made public.
00:47:00Are you aware of that?
00:47:01Wait a minute.
00:47:02What crime?
00:47:04Mr. Van Horn, as a Coles attorney,
00:47:06you should be well aware of the charges being
00:47:08brought against them.
00:47:09Prostitution and extortion.
00:47:12There is no prostitution, no extortion,
00:47:16no crime of any kind.
00:47:18What about the videotapes?
00:47:20OK.
00:47:21I'll come to that.
00:47:22What about the black book?
00:47:24I'll answer all your questions.
00:47:26Just give me a chance to tell the truth.
00:47:29What has been characterized as a crime
00:47:32perpetrated by the Coles is actually a tragedy.
00:47:36What has been called perverseness
00:47:38is underneath all the tar and feathers
00:47:40really a love story, pure and simple.
00:47:44What we have here is a loving couple,
00:47:47compatible in every way except in the bedroom.
00:47:50Joanne Coles suffers from excessive sexual desires,
00:47:54nymphomania, a medical condition.
00:47:57Induced and exacerbated by the use of the drug Primac,
00:48:00which was prescribed to her by a medical doctor.
00:48:04Because of the deep love that this couple felt for one another,
00:48:08they dealt with this blow to their marital stability
00:48:12in a sane and rational way.
00:48:15Accommodation.
00:48:17If this had been a wasting illness,
00:48:19David Cole would be praised for supporting his wife's needs.
00:48:23He would have been called a hero and she would have been a saint.
00:48:27She took her treatment, her therapy in a safe environment,
00:48:32a clinical environment entirely under the supervision of her husband.
00:48:37They needed and depended on one another
00:48:40because they loved each other.
00:48:42There's a black book with names and dates and dollar amounts,
00:48:46heaps of videos of judges, politicians and lawyers
00:48:49embedded with your client.
00:48:50How does all this square with your therapy defense?
00:48:53These other people, their names, their prestige
00:48:56were irrelevant to the Coles.
00:48:59The camera was David's way of assessing his wife's condition.
00:49:03It was as clinical as an X-ray or an MRI.
00:49:08Look, I hope that everybody who hears the Cole story
00:49:12will recognize the commonality of it
00:49:15and perhaps relate it to travails in their own lives.
00:49:19I think the public will react generously,
00:49:22not just with sympathy, but with understanding.
00:49:26Mr. Van Horne!
00:49:43They sell T-shirts with your picture on it,
00:49:45you've been on radio shows, you've been on national television,
00:49:48you're a celebrity now.
00:49:50It's incredible, isn't it?
00:49:52Now that you've accepted the plea bargain,
00:49:54are you going to put all this behind you?
00:49:57No, I think it'll be kept alive for a long time.
00:50:01Why?
00:50:03Because I think it fulfills a need.
00:50:06I think a lot of people would like to experience my story firsthand,
00:50:09but they can't or they won't.
00:50:12And so the more details they hear,
00:50:14the more real the experience becomes to them.
00:50:18What about the videotapes?
00:50:20Did Fletcher Ross's resignation and withdrawal from the mayor's race
00:50:24have anything to do with you?
00:50:26All I know is what his statement said,
00:50:28that he had some sort of medical problem.
00:50:32Beyond that, I wouldn't presume to comment on his motives.
00:50:37So what are your plans?
00:50:41Our plans?
00:50:44We've had a lot of nice offers.
00:50:47I think we're going to go to Barbados for a while.
00:50:50I think we'll work things out on the beach, have some fun.
00:50:55You're welcome to join us if you'd like.
00:50:59Well, if you had a chance to do it all over again, would you do it again?
00:51:07I'd leave out a few things, but overall, sure.
00:51:12I got what I always wanted, didn't I?
00:51:15Which was?
00:51:18Love.
00:51:23Well, I guess that sums it up.
00:51:26Is there anything else you wanted to say?
00:51:29Yeah.
00:51:31Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:51:42Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:51:47Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.

00:52:32Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:52:37Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:52:42Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:52:47Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:52:52Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:52:57Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:02Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:07Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:12Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:17Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:22Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:27Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:32Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:37Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:42Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:47Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:52Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:53:57Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:54:02Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.

00:54:32Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:54:37Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:54:42Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:54:47Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:54:52Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:54:57Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:02Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:07Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:12Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:17Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:22Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:27Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:32Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
00:55:37Hi, Mom and Dad, if you're watching.
