00:00Looking at pre-season under Arne Schlott, how much goes into his pre-seasons? Is there
00:07any sort of ideas how he arranges his size to set up for the new campaign? Obviously
00:11the first pre-season under him, plenty of players still away on international duty as
00:17well so it's about getting that time, enough time with his new players and getting really
00:23familiar with everything at the new club.
00:26It's not ideal is it to have two tournaments going on and a lot of players are away. When
00:32Liverpool reassemble there will be a day for senior players who were there for the first
00:37day, Mo Salah will be one of them, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, players like that.
00:42There's going to be a lot of players who aren't there which is a little bit disappointing
00:47for them and I think that's why there's not going to be a massive change at Liverpool
00:52any time soon. I don't think there will be anyway. I think maybe that's the reason why
00:55Arne Schlott was appointed because he plays a similar formation to Jürgen Klopp. Maybe
01:02he just sways a bit more to 4-3-3-1 and 4-3-3 but it's similar isn't it? He won't have any
01:10drastic changes, no drastic changes to the squad either. I think it'll just be about
01:15tinkering things and putting his own stamp on things. Some changes aren't bad. For all
01:23of Jürgen Klopp's attributes and what he's been lauded for sometimes and it's just natural.
01:30Things can go a little bit stale maybe like the pre-season if you're doing the same thing
01:34or whatever. Sometimes a new voice is nice for a player. I'm not saying by no means that
01:40one was needed but sometimes it's nice for a new player just to add a different thing,
01:45a different voice and work with different coaches. But yeah, Liverpool's players will
01:50be coming back gradually. Obviously with the Copa America going on and the Euros going
01:57on. It'll be interesting when Andy Robertson gets back after Scotland's exit in the competition.
02:01He'll be hungry as well with Dominic Subozolai. I think the pre-season tour of America is
02:10maybe when a lot of Liverpool players will start coming back. Obviously the Copa America
02:14is going on in the United States so it won't be too bad for some of the players over there.
02:21Maybe they'll go on holiday to Miami or LA or something like that and then they'll link
02:25up with Liverpool from there. But yeah, it's definitely exciting for Andy Slott and it's
02:31a good chance for all the youngsters I suppose who are in the round to try and impress and
02:37say, look I can be part of your plans. If you want to sign a player in X position then
02:41I'm here and I'm ready to step up. You would think if Liverpool have shown interest, you
02:47know Andy Gordon's that sort of player who fits the profile. Liverpool usually look at
02:51someone who's young enough, not hit his peak yet and can still be developed then there
02:56might be something in the future still.
